  2. They say it will be...in level flight it will have more clearance then a Caravan. I for one can't wait to jump it. They say it was designed to do nothing but climb FAST, and drop people out of it! 3. Not to mention all the shit that goes into making a canopy/harness...well everything, is made with fossil fuels in it or in it's manufacture! Faith in a holy cause is to a considerable extent a substitute for lost faith in ourselves. -Eric Hoffer - Check out these Videos
  4. Got a chance to do a walkthrough out at skydance earlier in the year. It was on the ferry over going somewhere else (This was before the unfortunate next ferry over). We said the same thing about the tail, then it was pointed out that we were looking at it on the ground...which is not what it looks like in the air. On jump run you've got more clearence in both verticle and horizontal then a Caravan, we said ,"oh...can we jump out of it!?!" they said no. Skydance is supposed to have their's by the American Boogie. Faith in a holy cause is to a considerable extent a substitute for lost faith in ourselves. -Eric Hoffer - Check out these Videos
  5. Thank you! The rig is at the riggers as we speak. I talked at lengeth with an Instructor at my DZ and he had the same advice as you. Peace! Faith in a holy cause is to a considerable extent a substitute for lost faith in ourselves. -Eric Hoffer - Check out these Videos
  6. It's durring head down that it happens. And yes all, the problem is being fixed...I just wanted to know if anyone had a plan for deployment in a possible two out situation...I have looked at two out situations and do have a plan for dealing with them. 7. Ok, so I have a pull out. I know some folks don't like them but I do. I can deal with the possible malfunction much better then I could a horseshoe or a PC in tow. I've had a problem with a floating pud 4 times and have seen a rigger and am having the problem fixed. A floating pud is not the problem for me that it is for most, I'm double jointed in my elbows and shoulders so it's no problem to reach all the way behind me and get my pud. Playing the odds though means that if it happens enough I'll have to go to my reserve and most likely end up with two out. Is there any way, body position or input of some sort that will help a two out deploy in a manageable configuration? I'm fixing the problem but if things go wrong it's good to have a plan. Peace! 10. You are correct...up to a point. Once you become Identified as such, even after the fact, you WILL NOT be covered by good sam laws in this state. You will be covered by standard of care. What this means is that they will go find 3 like trained EMT's put them on the stand and ask what they would have done (remember, you don't get to pick the EMT's)...As long as you limit your care to BLS in it's full scope your cool. In my particular county, we can act as Paramedics. Gross negligence can be by omission or commission. If you are down there holding c-spine...you are already engaged with the patient, you will be held to your certification level. I'm not saying we should all be Ricky Rescue out there, I am saying that given the choice, if someone is in need, I will act! 11. Well I don't know. You have a hell of alot more experience then I do...but I had one experience today that was...illuminating. 9 way exit from a Caravan...It was a bad exit! One guy dropped off early (2 count) we all bailed out after him. Now I'm new to this sport and I don't have the reflexes that others do, I mostly freefly so when I went for a diving exit, I dove...with my legs out, I wear Dr. Martens. I kicked the girl behind me, who was also diving out, in the head really hard. If she wasn't wearing a full face helmet she would have been a cypress save. If the plane goes in with me in it I hope I have a helment on....oh yeah, pro tecs kick ass! 12. Your right, of course, the system is imperfect. I think the insurance companies have to much power. That said, the U.S. has ONE of the best healthcare systems in the world. It's not uncommon for people to present at the Northern boarder of our country having M.I.'s(heart attacks) because our care is secont to...to Switzerland. 19. Like 15% of the country is covered by a privat company called American Medical Response. The 15% however constitutes 80% of the population. They have different deployment methods for different areas. Mostly they use what's called a "Fluid systems status deployment" which means the drive around and hang out at Starbucks. They are generally spread out over a geographic area to provide good coverage to everywhere. It's the best way to do it, even if us fire department people don't like it (like my 24 hour shifts...much more time off to jump). I don't know who has more of the US but I would bet it's private companies and Third agencies that have most of the Ambulances on the streets! 24. Dark ages for sure...it'll take time but we will get out of it. We have lot's of nifty toys, and a child like understanding of how reality works but we can't seem to stop killing each other for reasons like, "God say's your a bad guy!" or "You crossed that imaginary line on that map so I'm gonna blow up your family!" not to mention the destruction of the environment we have to live in...which sucks cause we all know it's happening but can't control ourselves. Oh well, at least we don't have to live in the really bad parts of the planet
