Well dude, here's what you do. You pay your money (it's like 10 or 15 bucks) . You can take the test three times. So you take and fail the first two, then you pass the third. There is only 5 test's and they all have mostly the same questions. The bitch about it is, none of it is pertinent to driving an ambulance. The only thing you need to know is DON'T HIT ANYTHING! Always leave yourself an out and assume the car in front of you is going to stop on a dime. Good Luck! Oh yes they do! Friday is supposed to be nice weather! Call manifest for info/directions 1-800-SKYDIVE. Driving time is about equal to Lodi or Davis. (they are both 43 miles from my house...what's up with that?) I've never jumped at Lodi so I know nothing about it. Skydance has a 182 and a Caravan. I'm with popeye. Wife is supportive (actually got me a tandem for my birthday last year, it's how I started) I had a kid already so I don't really fit your question there. Insurance, different medical covers differently, you'll have to check with your carrier. It made no difference with either my medical or life insurance. If it came down to it for me, kids are way better then skydiving. Faith in a holy cause is to a considerable extent a substitute for lost faith in ourselves. -Eric Hoffer - Check out these Videos

Give "Intimate History of Killing" cause the first 1/3 of the book will probably piss you off. It did me and I'm liberal as hell (she draws conclsions about the homoerotic nature of combat that I disagree with) but if you get past that the rest is well worth it! Next get "Unspeakable Acts, Ordinary People: The Dynamics of Torture" by John Conroy Faith in a holy cause is to a considerable extent a substitute for lost faith in ourselves. -Eric Hoffer - Check out these Videos

"Three Roads to Quantum Gravity" by Lee Smolin Loved this book (don't call me dumb Kellend) "A soldier of the Great War" by Mark Helprin Probably one of the Novels I've enjoyed the most...ever. "Weaveword" or "The Great and Secret Show" by Clive Barker Stephen King wishes he was Clive Barker Faith in a holy cause is to a considerable extent a substitute for lost faith in ourselves. -Eric Hoffer - Check out these Videos

Alright...I'm done. There is no point to it. He want's to be this way, I say we let him. I'm gonna step back from the computer and let him have his bowl. I'm comfortable in the people who I'm learning from and that's all that really matters. Peace Angela! Sabre2 openings, which mighty warrior has tamed them

Cool, thank you! So do you think my method is safe at my current W/L? I have tried to use harness input but my canopy might not be loaded enough for it to be significant enough (and I'm not gonna load it more to get there -
Are you sure that was Socrates or Val Kilmer?

It's the manner in which you make your argument that I take issue with. I guaranty you what you have seen is NOTHING compared to the number broken people I have. I say this not to belittle your experience but rather to show you that maybe you are not the only one with it. You like to say this, I've read it before in other threads. I don't know you, there is an under current in your posts that smacks of arrogance. I don't trust that arrogance regardless of your jump numbers. For now I will trust the people I am around, who have approached me from a position on confidence and understanding that is easily recognizable as competence. I do not have the experience that you do nor do you have mine. You think my choice is a bad one? OK, I get that. You feel I am not making an informed choice, I disagree. In the end time will, as it always does, tell. I really hope I do fine too. I'd give myself better then 50/50 but that must be my not being a guy with 3,000 jumps 10 years, that has been an instructor since 1995, has a pro rating, and has jumps on canopies as small as 69 at 2.6:1. This started as an attempt to find some information on my canopy, and some of the characteristics that it has been exhibiting. I was using DZ.Com as third source of information. I would never take information I've gained here as a primary learning tool, thank you for reinforcing that point of view! What I've ended up doing (and I have far from enough jumps to give advice! This is as much an attempt to gain advice on whether what I'm doing is OK. I have some opinoins, but more is better in this situation) is flying out of the opening sequence. As soon as it sits me up my hands are on my rear risers. I counter any movment off heading and open my end cells with a light equal pressure. It works, but I also was looking for a packing fix. So this is like the prison sex version of extreme sports? The 'do unto others as has been done to you'? You would make a wonderful cellie for the new guys! Let me make one thing clear, I made my decision. Did I get information from Ryan? Yes. Was he the only source? No. I'm a big boy and I've assessed the risks. I could give a long list to qualify that statement, explain why I'm good at assessing risks to me, and have a long history of being right....but your just gonna have to take my word for it. If I "hook it in" it will be no ones fault but my own. Faith in a holy cause is to a considerable extent a substitute for lost faith in ourselves. -Eric Hoffer - Check out these Videos
