  1. I don't know anyone at that DZ and I don't know you. But the feeling I get from your posts is that you got smart-mouth and maybe tried to bait the instructor and got a case of the ass when she was better at then you. I could be wrong. In any case if you have a problem with an employee of any business you take it to the "boss". If you are unwilling to do this refer to my "feeling" above. And as in this case, please keep us informed as to the outcome. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  2. Anytime you have 2 or more people in freefall together it is RW. All the rest is just bull sh*t. Everyone who flies a plane is a pilot, but all pilots don't fly the same airplane. The truth is we are all fucking nuts and jump out of airplanes and that makes us SKYDIVERS. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. When the rigger uses his/her press to crush the little lead thingy it leaves a 3 digit “symbol” that identifies the rigger who packed the rig. The thread lets one know if the rig has been opened. At least that is the theory. It can and is bypassed on occasion. Why you have never had this in your country, your guess is as good as mine. 4. Looks to me it is you that is assuming. If I was to assume I would say he was going to bet Ron's "assumed" 10ish hours against his Sim time. Try not to be so defensive based on assumptions. You could end up looking like a fool. It was posted to me, again in case you didn't noticed. I like it better when you follow your own rule and don't respond to what I post. 5. Two things: I don't like being called a fool. And I did not discount any educational experience. That is something you have been doing during this tread. Your are assuming that I have "10ish hours of live flight". You have no idea how much time I have in fixed wing or rotor wing, now do you. The government in all its wisdom has not seen fit to let you fly one of their "real" birds now has it? And all the pilots that they do let fly have some dual time, now don't they? Do you ever wonder why? You are and will remain a service tec. not a pilot. No, no ego here. And it is just an expensive video game. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  6. Large difference between an expensive video game and real life. You don't crash, you make a mistake and hit reset. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  7. Ah! But the trick is, can you do it while riding in the chopper? Sparky Oh, well, NOW you're adding conditions. I have had a lesson in a "full-size" helo (Bell47) and also the full motion Jet Ranger simulator at Pensacola NAS. Didn't break either of them, but we never went upside down. Here is a pic of one of my R/C helos. I trained and solo'd in one of these. See attachment. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  8. It is the test weight that dictates what the "Max Weight" is. The manufacture can say what the test weight is as long as it is not less than 264 lb. At 264 lb. test you will have a "Max Weight" of 220. AS8015-B 4.3.4 (Continued): a. Test weight = Maximum operating weight limit x 1.2 b. Test speed = Maximim operating speed limit x 1.2 However, test weight must be not less than 264 lb (119.7 kg) and the test speed must be not less than 180 KEAS (333.4 km/h) for reserve and emergency parachute assemblies; for dual harness parachute assemblies for test weight must not be less than 480 lb (217.7 kg) and the test speed must not be less than 210 KEAS (388.9 km/h). 10. It is up to the manufacture. As long as they test to the minimum required weight and speed. Minimum test speed is 180 knots for a maximum operating speed of 220 knots. Minimum test weight is 264 pounds for a maximum operating weight of 220 pounds. The manufacture can choose to go higher but can’t go lower. Hope this helps. 12. Dennis, I would like to be on the jump if there is room. You don't know me I don't think but check with Dom, JP, or Dan BC. I have to go to LAX but should be there by 3:00 PM. Thanks, Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  14. The line is attached to the top flap of the reserve container, routed over the left shoulder and was either attached to the reserve handle or the MLW near the handle. If you pulled and had a container lock you pull on the line and it would open the flap and allow the P/C to come out. They did work but they also caused problems. 15. They list the max weight as 300 pounds so it was tested to at least 360 pounds. And the speed was at least 180 knots or 207 mph. There is no advantage to a white reserve that I know of. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  16. I think you might to listen to what "Beerlight" has to say about the physiology of high altitude. He knows his shit. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  17. wanna make that bet? i have 0 hours of air time in a helio.. and i can guarantee you i can fly one better than you.. know anyone who wants to risk their helio? Do get video... Bob (helicopter CFII) I'll take some of that bet. Solo'd in a Hiler U12E Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  19. Oh No, not the "special care" pack job. Got a demo off today and the landing area was huge. But they insisted on paying us any how. Ain't life grand. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  20. How much it costs now and how much I think it will be worth when I am ready to sell it would not be high on my list of reasons to buy one reserve over another. Just something to think about. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  21. Jim, You are not going to find anything that is rated at more than about 300 pounds. And ZP is out, there is only one made and it is a hybrids made by Precision, I think. And ZP when it fails, it fails big time. One thing you might consider is a quick release on the demo equipment if case you have to go to your reserve. Other wise, suck it up big boy, that’s why they pay you the high dollars. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
