Seriously, why is that a dodge? The President can't be an expert in everything, most of the time he isn't even an expert in most things. What we, or at least I, expect the President to do is lead. He needs to take the advice of his cabinet and make the best decisions he can based on the information they present to him. Do you think the President thinks up military strategy on his own? Or is it more likely that he listens to his advisors and makes what he thinks is the best decision. Of course we're not in total control. The system hasn't allowed that since the beginning. We elect those who we believe will best represent our interests. In this case we elected the President, the House, and the Senate. Our control over these things is exerted at the voting booth. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

In a way, yes we do. Clinton was, and I think that Bush is too, smart enough to leave the economy to the experts. Clinton didn't interfere too much with Alan Greenspan and he and his team did a great job at keeping the economy mostly stable. I'm certainly no expert, but that's the way I see things. A president is only as good as his cabinet. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I'm currently in the market for a new rig and the Infinity is it. I've done a bit of research and decided that the Infinity has everything I'm looking for at a _great_ price and pretty quick delivery time. Mine will be ordered as soon as I decide what I'm going to stick in there for a main. Definitely give them a look. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Has this happened to you on most of your jumps on this system? If it hasn't then the problem probably isn't your pilot chute. My guess is that you got out low, a little worried about the altitude (or lack of) and dumped before you were completely stable. What in the world makes these people think that the pilot chute caused these problems? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

2 120 way jumps that I watched from the ground - that's cool stuff:2:0 Had a pretty kick ass 6 way FF on Saturday followed by a fairly uneventful 2 way. Woke up Sunday in a wet tent, went outside to find rain and clouds, clouds, clouds. Oh well, next weekend is almost here! - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

That can do it. I mentioned in another post that I had been told by a former world level competitor that ultimately suits like this cause more problems then they're worth. Cut the wings and here's to a speedy recovery. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Have you heard about the dz in the press? If you haven't then most likley there's nothing wrong with it. Why does your friend say it's a bad dz? What does she think makes a 'nice' dz? If she's not a skydiver then her opinion on whether or not a dz is 'good' doesn't really mean much. Whuffos aren't qualified, in my opinion, to comment on the worthiness of any dz. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

For the lazy: http://dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=118233;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread I'm surprised Quade and a few others haven't jumped all over this one yet. Then again, maybe not... - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

"Please please please please....U,U,U,U,U I gotta to have U" The teacher thinks for a few minutes and cannot come up with a bad U word. Reluctantly she say, "Okay Little Johnny, here's your chance. U." Little Johnny stands up slowly in his moment of triumph, knowing he has the best U word in the history of U words. He eyes the class, his gaze coming to rest on the petrified teacher. "U. U is for Urinate. But if you had bigger tits you'd be a 10!" That's the way I heard it. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I've always wanted to name a dog "Dammit" "Get in the truck, Dammit!" "Sit, Dammit!" "Good dog, Dammit" "Dammit, where are you?" I'm serious. I think Dammit would be a great name for a dog. True, grippers do make it harder, but not as hard as booties do. I was trying to suggest a nice middleground, a suit that would allow him to explore both disciplines with minimal investment. On the other hand, he could buy a used RW suit and explore the Dark Side with tight pants and a sweatshirt. There is no perfect solution here other than to buy two suits. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Maybe a used RW suit without booties? It might be sort of like a used FF suit with grippers. Just a thought... - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

The AAD uses barometric pressure to determine vertical decent speed. It doesn't know a thing about horizontal (forward) speed. By the way, the Cypres fires at a vertical speed of 78MPH - for whatever that's worth. I'm not a pilot, but I imagine that a Cessna doing 78MPH vertical speed at 750ft is in some serious trouble. Am I wrong? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

* Friendly DZO and good customer service. The customer doesn't always have to be right, but the DZ staff can't be assholes all the time either. * No waiting, that's nice.

On the rare occasion that I pack for myself anymore I usually double wrap the locking stows and triple wrap everything else. You have to be careful here as the potential for bag-lock is increased, regular rubberbands help here. When I do this I can feel each and every stow pop off on deployment. Nice and slow. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -

It's a pretty trivial task I think to unstitch the pilot chute from the D-bag and resew a new one in. I had it done in about 40 minutes at a boogie a few years ago. It's probably only worth it though if you're sure that the 26" pilot chute will get you the results you're after. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -

I wanted to get about 200 jumps this year. Things are going well, I've managed to get in about 130 so far and that's a pretty laid back pace too. If I pick it up, and I will once the cooler weather rolls in, I should make about 250. I wish it wasn't so damn expensive. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
