  1. Sorry. Too old. This site wasn't even -thought- of yet back then. Well, I'm at least not as old as -some-....the internet discovered Al Gore at least by then.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. Brings back fond memories of my 2nd grade teacher who played ukelele and taught all of us to do the same. My dad took it upon himself to bring ukeleles home from Hawaii for all of us in 2nd grade and we learned how to play for our music class. Of course, as 2nd graders, none of us got anywhere -near- the talent of Jake (the guy's link you posted) but it started many of us on more artistic endeavors during our school years. Thanks for the link. Brought a smile to me today. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. Perris wasn't my home DZ at the time of those milestones so it doesn't count. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. I try to make it a more memorable jump, but if I'm training, then it just happens in the rotation. Every milestone (read new license number) I ran away to a different DZ other than my home DZ. (didn't want to get pied). 1,000th was made with my former teammates over the years. Nice 9-way with my 'son' videoing. 2,000th was a training jump with one of my favorite 4-way teams, "Perris Exceed". 3,000th coming up. Haven't decided what that will be. Depends on where I am at the time. Maybe some head-down? The rule is, have fun whatever you do, wherever you are. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  5. Ha! I did a little googling and guess what I found out! It's Bangkok Chef! The location is right. Off Winchester Rd, turn left, restaurant is on the right. 27451 Jefferson, Temecula. Hee Hee Hee.... Now you've got me wanting to take a drive today...! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  6. Now all they need to do is get a clip of youngsters in the wind tunnel and we'll have 'em! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  7. Actually the best Thai food I've ever had -is- in Temecula.
  8. Correction. The restaurant named "Dong's" in Loma Linda is a Vietnamese restaurant. The Thai place that is so yummy is named "Ranu". It's in the exact same parkinglot. Just took my sister and her husband, who are gourmet chefs, to Ranu's last night. They were impressed. It's always interesting to take them to restaurants I like and hear them critique the tastes. Of course, I only take them to places that I like, and do themselves proud. Thought I'd print this retraction in case someone was looking for the correct place. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. Some light reading here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humidity#Why_do_we_see_reports_of_negative_humidity.3F Go figure. You had me stumped...Had to go look it up myself. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  10. What are they thinking? Didn't they see all the nice pretty names we were coming up with here? Blu Fin? What the heck! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  11. Your windows look nice, too.
  12. Found this kinda interesting.... http://www.jumptheshark.com/topic/kids-hall-general-comments/1093&start=15 Maybe it's the logo... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  13. Yeah i think they actually went that way because of JAWS ...and the Monty Python "Bruce" sketch. After all, it's an Aussie shark! I think -this- is the Bruce you're thinking of... http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/sharks/innews/queensland2005.html ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  14. I like that - after the mechanical shark in "Jaws". That's pretty good, especially with so many show biz folks around... mh . Arsonists..why?

Yes, but I was addressing more the title of the thread. It -seems- like more and more arsonists are on the loose these days. I, too, remember the firestorms of 2003. I took National's time off that year (didn't go to Florida, but still took the time off work...just in case...). I was driving home from Las Vegas at midnight and saw the Rancho Cucamonga fires. Woke up the next morning and the Old Waterman Fire had been set. Drove south to the DZ and marveled at the amount of smoke in the air. Thick blanket of the stuff. But the drive home took the cake! Fires to the west, south and north! I stopped in San Timateo Canyon and stared. The image will always be burned into my brain. Yes, dry brush...over years and years of growth...seem to attract the arsonists. Let's not forget the 5 firefighters who died just last year (again, during our National's time in Eloy) by the hands of an arsonist. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    Arsonists..why?

California: Orange County, San Bernardino County, LA County. Florida. Georgia. Minnesota. Canada. WTF is happening? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. Which is what I'm afraid they'll do. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. We're talking about the new 'Shark' here, not the JET. Besides, I have absolutely no authority with executive decisions at the DZ. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  20. Perris Vapor. Has a nice ring to it.
  21. I am 67 yrs old, with osteoperosis. One bad knee (needs surgery), disk and vertebra problems plus multiple health problems. Due to an automobile accident in 2000 - I have enough broken bones for one life time...not going to push my luck.
  22. Wouldn't it just be 'cheaper' to join the military. I mean, they train you for free, right? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
