Yep, working 1/2 day today at the hospital. Go figure, they don't shut down for holidays?! Had to turn down a couple of demo's, but that's on account of my now 14 year old dog. She freaked out last year on the 4th of July, so I told her this year I'd stay home with her. Poor pooch, she's going blind and deaf but those fireworks sure set her off. Anyone want to come over for a BBQ?

Here Here! I used to only use a surge protector, falsely believing that it was all that was needed for my computer. Sadly I was mistaken with a power transformer blew outside my house. I was lucky that only the power supply was fried (read $300 to replace). I now have a capable Battery Back-up and it has more than once saved my computer from its otherwise fate. Sounds yummy, all except for the chard. My dad planted that when I was a kid and try as we might when we tried to kill it (by cutting it down to the ground) it just grew back again! Went and searched about this topic of 'hating your work cubicle' and found there are ALOT of you who are stuck in this world. Thought you might get a kick out of this short made by one of the contenstants on the show "On the Lot". His name is Zach Lipovsky, and IMHO is the most creative mind in this competition. Interesting side-note: A family from Russia stayed with me for awhile a few years ago. The wife's comment: "American's are too automatic", referring to the fact that we have electric everything. Can opener, garbage disposal, garage door opener, etc... The other comment they had was all the wastefulness of land. They pointed to our lawns, taking up valuable garden space. They said that they would never have wasted space like that and would always grow a garden for their food instead. Guess I fit into that category... I have a garden, but by far the majority -is- covered in grass. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks for input! I will be patient as I have so many other projects going that it can wait. Confession: I bought a wishing well kit. The outside is already treated (got my hands all covered in whatever it was). The inside, though, they left bare. I have the Thompsons stuff you're referring to. Great idea. I'll use that. It's hot enough outside, here, that it'll dry very quickly.

Yeah, I forgot about the skunks out back. Well, it seems that they don't get to my garden (chain link fence) but they do indeed stink up the night air! I think my other neighbor's cats set them off. Thankfully (knock on wood) no little pests have found my garden yet. However, I -do- still have that fido-shocker from years ago when I had to keep my dog in the yard when he wanted to bound up and over my 6 foot fence! Thanks for the heads up. Having delicious fun eating the vegetables from my garden this summer. Planted tomatoes, red bell peppers, and cucumbers. Also have an apricot tree that for the first time in the 18 years I've lived here is producing healthy fruits this season. What veggies are you growing this year? (love the taste of fresh veggies and not the cardboard ones they sell in the grocery store in the winter months...!) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
