You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. ------------- "Miracle Max: Sonny, true love is the greatest thing, in the world-except for a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe [smacks his lips] Miracle Max: they're so perky, I love that." ---------------- I love that movie. One of my all time favorites. Even if it did come out -way- after my childhood. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

My 14 year old dog used to be okay with it. However, last year I came home with her clawing at the fence and being absolutely terrified. The older dogs get the more sensitive. I stayed home with her this July 4th and she was okay. That may have been because she was inside and we had the air conditioning going, providing 'white noise' to drowned out the outside stuff. I'll be home for her on July 4th until the day she passes. I owe her that much. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

HP 7 - The Spoiler's Thread (ie don't look if you don't wanna know...)

Grew up in a conservative family and school. We only got to see the movies they showed there. So, those were what I was exposed to and guess consider my fav's of childhood. Ones like: Son of Flubber The Absent Minded Professor The Shaggy Dog Follow Me Boys! Off school grounds I'd have to say my fav was "Sound of Music". Kind of still have that one as a classic enjoyment from time to time. And can you believe I've found some people haven't seen it! For this thread, I consider anything post about 12 years old being not in 'childhood' anymore... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks for bringing back a classic. Had me laughing once more. Here's the original thread. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1436102;search_string=everyone%20has%20had%20more%20sex%20than%20me;#1436102 Thanks again for the laughs... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

The right arm failed on the way up in the gondola. He knew that if he reported it they wouldn't let the operation continue and bring him back down. So he kept it to himself. Yes, it would be interesting to hear, in his own words, just how painful it was and such. I understand that he got full use of his hand back by the 24 hour mark. Lucky man. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Better not watch shows like "Married with Children" or "Everybody Loves Raymond" and the like. They degrade men at every turn, but in a more subtle (and demeaning way). Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

That's not the same airport where a transatlantic flight would take off. Congonhas (the crash airport) is an in-city airport from the 20's or 30's, serving domestic flights. Guarulhos, the big airport, is modern with everything you'd expect from a modern airport. Well, except for the flights board... Thanks for the clarification, Wendy. I have a friend and her husband (he's Brazilian) who travel down to Sao Paulo quite alot during the year. When I saw that crash last night on the tv I got quite worried. They fly to Brazil from LAX. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Jean prison a women's facility? If so, perhaps some of the men would -like- to have a bad spot over it. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Jean, NV is the same way. If you have an 'oops' spot, you -could- land in the prison next door. If you have a bad spot from either Brown's Field or Otay, you could land in Mexico! (try getting back from -that- spot!). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

And the only double amputee (AKA, BKA) to become a helicopter pilot, then helicopter instructor after the accident, as well. ltdiver Fascinating story about Dana Bowman on one of the cable networks (Discovery Channel maybe ?). The REALLY cool part of the story is Dana's ongoing participation in the design and development of newer generations of "smart" prosthetic limbs. The legs and feet he's wearing nowadays actually allow him to feel - and control - very slight and subtle movements with his feet. That kind of dexterity is essential to controlling a helicopter, where the pilot is literally "dancing" with the hand and foot controls. It's all done by the pilot's ability to alter pressure with very subtle motions and his ability to then read the feedback of the control response. Dana's prosthetics actually do that for him. And now that they they can do that for him, they're available to others as well. It's called a C-Leg, and yes it is available to those with $35-40,000. I have several patients with them right now. And our noble Max (Gaiwan) is using one as well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Trying to contact Capt. Joe Kittenger
ltdiver replied to diverds's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I believe that will be confirmed or laid to rest in the interview. I believe that grew as a story that was not true. Fast, yes. But shy of Mach 1. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

So, I went by a local nursery/landscaping outlet (Thompson's) today after work. I was really looking for some specialized rock for a project I'm working on. (anyone know where I can get some blue rock for my garden?) Didn't find the rock, but stumbled upon a beautiful tree. I had to hunt someone up to tell me what this beautiful flowering tree was! Low and behold, it was a 'standard cut' Duranta bush! Shaped to be a miniature tree! Beautiful! One of it's pet names is "Sky Flower".

Consistent off heading openings on my new Sabre 2
ltdiver replied to Newbie's topic in Gear and Rigging
Interesting that you say that. The forums are full of complaints about sabre2 openings. I demoed one that was very bad in that respect (in all 8 jumps). But yes, they do fly well once they are open. I own a Pilot now. I'll add my hat to the ring. I demo'd one when they first came out. The openings were always diving, spinning. Even when I had a packer pack it. The canopy was nice once open (I had to fight it to keep it from going into line twists), but with a camera on my head I didn't want to play that game every time. The canopy was sent back to PD for a look-see. It never came back. They sent Square One a new one. Never did find out what that canopy's exact problem was. I'll stick with my Spectre, thank you. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
I like Julia, and hope that it's she and Rock who are the 2 left standing at the final vote. Serves all the others right who left before her, that mocked her ability and talent. Jin, the little minx... She'd hid her history until this week. Out of the shadows and into the light... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
