Bump. Almost didn't catch it until the last few miliseconds of the newscast tonight. Wow, it -does- sneak up on you, doesn't it? http://www.energy.ca.gov/daylightsaving.html Even earlier next year! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Found this link on another thread, when using the search word, "Memorex". Long, but a very good read. http://www.videoguys.com/DVDburn.html ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Just bought a new Sony RDR-GX315 for team recording this season. Better product than just dubbing to a VHS...easier for them to carry, too. So...dubbed some miniDV to DVD this week here at home (practicing). I used my usual Memorex 4X DVD's and something unusual cropped up. (Note: I've used these same discs on my Mac, playing and recording without any problems surfacing). Here's what I found....if I recorded VHS to Memorex DVD (analogue) with this GX315 it plays back just fine. On my JVC player, my Macintosh computers, as well as the Sony GX315. If I recorded via firewire (iEEE1394) (digital) it wouldn't play on anything! If I wanted either DVD player to recognize it I had to hit 'play' to close the tray and play (overriding the program). There was no executable file for anything to recognize. So....after browsing the technical support pages at Sony, the owners manual, and such, I called their technical support.... Here's what was discovered. My brand new Sony RDR-GX315 doesn't like Memorex. There's something amiss with the Memorex product. At their suggestion I went out and bought Fuji. Recorded (ditigally) some stuff. Now it plays on everything just fine. Wonder if Memorex knows.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

It makes sense for some to have a "negative effect". When it comes to overcoming sickness or injury, you can either fight or give up. If people are christian folk, they may "give up" or relinquish control of their situation to god, and they may stop fighting. I think it makes sense at least. What you say makes sense. If someone is a peace with what is going on (having given up to God), then they can literally 'rest in peace'. (playing devils advocate here...) On the flip side, if they stop fighting and their spirit is at peace, then the body is under less stress (which is known to allow the body to function better...who hasn't been under tremendous stress and succumbed to being sick because of it?) and it can start the healing process. "Fighting" = Stress. Stress = an unhealthy body. An unhealthy body = inability for a body to heal. Inability for a body to heal = Death. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

We used to do this an an adolescent prank. Didn't know adults carried on with the practice. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

One only need to look at the shape of the two animals. Zebra: longer ears, boxy head, coarse mane and tail. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Ditto. I taught my students this, and continue to use it myself. I find that the ones that -may- not know about it are the visiting foreigners that come to Perris. However, those teams have pocket rockets and are usually down -way- before me anyway.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I'm not a TI, but isn't there supposed to be a second 'chest' strap? A belly strap on a tandem student's harness? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Bite your tongue! Yeah, that's what happens when you take a break from skydiving... You start enjoying the rain. All it does is grow my house's weeds higher (and thicker, and more numerous...) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Sony Camcorders - defective CCD lawsuit settlement.
ltdiver replied to AndyMan's topic in Photography and Video
Thanks for the reply. That's one (1) folks. Keep them coming (even if your camera is fine), let's keep a tab of good/bad cameras we own on this list. Since we all (well, most of us) use Sony's it would be very good information. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Yes, a good idea. I did this for awhile with great success. (5'10" and at the time was only 135 lbs). My suggestion, however, is to make sure you wear these weights -inside- your jumpsuit. Those little straps that hold the weights together are thin and eventually wear through. This happened to me on a skydive and I'm sure glad that my ankle weights (weight belt) -was- inside my jumpsuit when the strap went. Can you imagine the damage 10# of lead could do if it came crashing down from the sky on its own?! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yeah, got this same notice in my Inbox a few days ago. Luckily (knock on wood) my camera doesn't need it (yet). I'm interested how many of us here -do- need it, however. My TRV22 (on the list) is working fine. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Even -if- the eclipse was to happen here this time around, we wouldn't be able to see it 'cause it's fu*&*#^n RAINING! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Oh, but Paula wanted to see his scar, didn't she? IMO, they saved the best 3 performances of the night for last. Amazingly Bucky did okay, Paris rocked, and Elliot showed talent. Maybe it's my music background, but Elliot seems to be doing overall the best throughout the competition. Wish he'd change his haircut, though! Taylor did and is actually starting to look like he cares about his appearance! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

How do i get above/away from my 4 way team on exit?
ltdiver replied to Peej's topic in Photography and Video
Former SSL Director, Graham Harding, was behind that award during the inception of the league. I wish that Eric Assendorf would have kept it, but for some reason the award fell by the wayside. It was cool seeing cameraflyers get their recognition each meet. We may be behind the scenes, but that part is just as important as what the team is cranking out down below. -
I've had uneven video with iMovie when I load up my HD too much. I dump some unneeded files to free up some space and it always takes care of it. I hate throwing stuff away, so I need to remember to burn files to a CD first so I have to needed area for a new project! That, or get an extra HD... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Videocamera lens filters for protection
ltdiver replied to tetra316's topic in Photography and Video
The -video- lenses that I fly don't have the ability to accept a filter in front. My -still- camera, however, has a protective Skylight or UV filter in front of -every- lens. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
video tandem question when tandem delays drogue chute
ltdiver replied to airborne82nd's topic in Photography and Video
On your off days (when not working, that is ) take time to go learn to freefly. Ths is a skill you'll need when drougeless freefall happens with your tandems and a skill that will take you far in the years to come. -
Advanced. Team name Perris Voltage.
