Along those lines, here is a -priceless- thread that lewmonst started. All I can say, gofast_ER, is....welcome to our world.... Now go play safe. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1435985;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

you sure??? My Conceptus came with a stereo plug but it is definitely single stage... Hmmmm....interesting. My old stereo plugged switch was definitely a single stage. I just had it replaced with a new one (the dreaded pin-hole defect) and haven't tested it yet. It -seems- like a single stage upon playing with it but haven't plugged it into the camera yet. Let me know what you find out (still -way- too tired from the VERY HOT weekend to want to play right now). Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Guess I need to be more specific. From my first post: I love RAW as well and will use it for *professional* prints. It's the best the digital SLR's can produce at this time. Also from my first post: Every format has its use, and for freefall students (ones that like alot of quality prints to show their friends) Large Format .jpg works great. From my last post: 2MP prints are not what neither you (from your last post) nor I would use as a *professional* to represent what we would offer.

Suggestion: Save a jump ticket or two and just walk around with your camera helmet on your head (this can be done anywhere, not just the DZ). Practice shooting still objects, then moving ones (your dog or cat?). You'd be amazed how much this will teach you about depth from an object and accuracy. However, remember when you get back in the air that you're there to save your life and your -real- objective is to PULL!
-
Work quite well? Not really. First you go ape on RAW, then you say that 2MP works quite well for printing? Sorry. 2MP is not -anything- I'd hand a customer for printing. Perhaps e-mailing to friends, but not printing.

Bump... Too bad you didn't say "Saturday....Perris". There were quite a few from down there, up here, yesterday.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

How ya gonna 'burst' on exit for those few increadible frames? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Very valid thought. I've seen TI's who have started to get nerve damage in their necks and shoulders from having to lug those heavy rigs around all day long. Now...add to that the use of a 'heavy' handcam on top of that. It'd be interesting to hear from those who have done alot of this combo (i.e. Australia does, I hear) and what their experience is in this department (shoulder-hand syndrome). Especially those who have been doing this for years. Are they getting some numbness/tingling in their arms and/or hands? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Except for the need for a fast frame rate. I would still use large format .jpg for tandems and AFF. You need to at -least- give them the same number of pictures (i.e. 36) that you used to give them with 35mm film. Kinda hard to do with RAW in a less than 60 second freefall. Everything else....yeah, use RAW. :^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks for asking the question. Nice to know that answer. Thanks, freeflydrew. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

ATTENTION: Important time sensitive info for Sony owners

AndyMan beat you to it. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2150049;search_string=sony%20lawsuit;#2150049 I also received a written copy of the settlement in the mail back in March as well. Thankfully my TRV22 isn't having any issues, so didn't need to send it in. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Vegetable oil and keep them seperate. You can mash it into one big pancake looking shape and fry it that way as well. This is how my sister cooked them, years ago. She had just returned from Costa Rica, where she served as a student missionary. She was 18. I was 8. It is something that I remember as being very good to eat. -Must- have been good for me to remember it all these years later!

Maybe I shouldn't have been surprised, but there were protestors, with signs, outside our theater as well. Seemed rather pathetic. I enjoyed the movie as well. Actually, I had listened to the book on tape last year and was eagerly awaiting this movie. It lived up to what I had hoped it could be. An intrigue that flushed out the color of what I had heard the reader speak on the CD. I'm glad that I had 'read' the book beforehand. It allowed a following of the plot without being left out and a bit lost (like I think other movie-goers may have been). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Beware in Texas: You can be stopped for license plate frame
ltdiver replied to efs4ever's topic in Speakers Corner
Although not a license plate holder, perhaps they wouldn't like this license either. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Some fun skysurfing videos. http://www.skysurfer.com/videoGallery/ ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Great history recall of skysurfing. Thanks for posting it. Two additions to the list. 1) In 1998 Valery Rozov lost his cameraflyer, Alexi Krishtopa, on a (training or competition) jump. He was without a teammate and found one, Clif Burch, just in time for the X-Games. They won GOLD! In 2000 the same team won silver! 2) 2001, the year that Tanya Garcia-O'Brien won the Women's Division of the "World Air Games", she had enough points to actually win the entire event. More points than even the men! edit to correct the spelling of Valery Rozov's name. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

There was a cameraflyer at the DZ where I was a student who would cut the legs off his camerasuit every summer, then sew them back on in the winter. Seemed to work just fine for him. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

That is, if Taylor was the top vote getter. Did I miss that? All I saw was that Elliot was 3rd. It's called projecting.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Ya know, if you believe the percentages they gave of the 50,000,000 votes, it breaks down thus: Elliot: 33.06% = 16,530,000 votes Katherine: 33.26% = 16,630,000 votes Taylor: 33.68% = 16,840,000 votes ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I use the Sony RDR-GX300. It works flawlessless and its picture clear. It's an older model but you can still get it. By all means do NOT get the Sony RDR-GX315. For some reason Sony snuffed up on this model and I haven't found -anyone- who hasn't had problems with it. From poor picture quality, unable to transfer via firewire without glitches, failure to burn, and non-transfer of sound. Sony is coming out with a 330, but I'm thinking since it's just another version of the 315 I'd avoid it as well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
