    Funny thing is, though, is that my co-workers are constantly pulling my JFTC picture (the postcard size of the completion) off my desk and showing their patients! They either do this to inspire them to reach their recovery stage (work hard) or show them how crazy I am (not sure which one, but I hope it's the first). -They- in turn (the patient) almost always 'come up with' that proverbial phrase of the "perfectly good airplane" and I have fun answering the question various ways (depending on the patient). Maybe: 1) "Because the door was open" 2) "Have you -seen- our airplanes?!" 3) "To have fun" 4) "To build up energy to work with -you- guys!" 5) For the sports-minded and those who bust themselves up on motorcycles or skiing or something, the: "The only time you get hurt in an airplane is when they land.....right?"

    DVD cameras aren't good for freefall. Many reasons. First and most evident is the fact that the mechnics can't take either the altitude (thin air) or the buffeting that freefall includes. For a more detailed discussion or two (if you want), they can be found in the little 'search' area at the bottom right of the computer screen.     For a weekend only jumper they've lasted me for years. I've had my old style dytter for about 8 years and have only replaced the batteries once.

    Pull at 3-4,000' (hey, I'm a cameraflyer! ) 6 reserve rides. First one at about 60 or so jumps (don't have that log book out right now). First one: Made the mistake of unstowing the brakes while I was still in line twists . Made me SO upset that I'd done such a stupid thing that I went and rented gear the rest of the day for $45/jump!     For those of you (like me) who like the older Sony miniDV camcorders, here's what you -might- be looking for. I wanted another TRV22, but shied away from ebay and other sales, being fearfull of what crap I might 'luck' into. My patience won out. Sony is having a sale right now on some of their older merchandise. Sure, some of them might be refurbished, but I feel pretty confident that with the Sony techs doing the work and their 90 day guarantee (plus the lawsuit to fix their CCD's), that I'm pretty well covered.
