Here is one, you can see the topskin distorted down. There are other frames before and after this one where you can also see it. If she is in doubt or is having trouble seeing it, have an experienced canopy pilot who knows what to look for jump it. I have a picture of my 1st canopy a sabre 150 with the tail being pulled down in full flight. I thought something was wrong with the canopy and asked about my steering lines.....everyone said they were fine. They weren't fine they needed to be let out 4 inches. My landings got much better after that. (edited to add this) Her steering lines aren't the issues here, her high flaring is, once she gets that fixed, then she can start adjusting other things to allow her to get better. btw Andy....very nice pictures Fly it like you stole it!

Actually they need to be lengthend. you can see the tail being pulled down in full flight. Fly it like you stole it!

More importantly, Peter, can you be both hot and unemployed? I think that works OK for women, but not men. I dunno. (sitting in front of the key board, trying to think how to word this without upsetting Peter. Oh well, I'm just going to go for it) How do we know that Peter is really unemployed? If he's that HOT, he could be working, undercover Well I have it from a certain TequilaGirl that she doesn't remember him on the show....or if she forgot him he must not have been that hot since she can't remember. I love my pookie-bear, even when he is leaving rigging all over the house, leaving a muddy bike in the laundry room, threatening to play kitties in space with Mem, and leaving the toilet seat up.....Hmmmm...... The old Wharton was the people, I don't think anyone expected the "experience" to happen with the new DZ. Fly it like you stole it!

Wharton was the 1 DZ in Houston where it didn't matter if it was your 1st time there or you were a regular you felt the love. They really had that family atmosphere and was a place you knew when you got there you were with friends. I definately can't say that about Spaceland, where all I ever felt was tension and stress. A DZ is all about the people, they make the experience. There are people all over the country that drive right past 1 DZ to go to one where all there friends are, I mean look at the people who go to Aggieland from Houston. Fly it like you stole it!

Just get video next time and post it so we really can point and laugh. Actually video really is a great tool, even if you don't think you are having problems it never hurts to double check. Fly it like you stole it!

It's amazing how people don't notice what they do on landing. We have hours of landing footage where they are flaring un-evenly, reaching with their foot for the ground or just plain and simple doing the oddest things, such as letting one arm up in the middle of their flare. The thing is they had no idea they were doing it until they saw the video. They said the same thing, it was a crosswind, turbulence, termals, an act of god. Yet the video showed clear as day what they did. 20 jumps doesn't have much to do with it other than the fact that you are going to improve and as you brain learns to instintively correct for things like turbulance you won't even know the wind was trying to turn you. I never noticed how much I correct without knowing until I saw strait on video of me landing on a bumpy day, I didn't think it was all that bumpy but damn were my hands going back and forth making small corrections (kind of like we do in the car). Snowboard or Ski....she hasn't decided yet. If it's warm enough she may come out to mile-hi and jump her X-fire2 99 just to watch Jeff grumble about girls on small canopies....*giggle* I told her about him telling me to not let the other girls on the DZ get any ideas about being able to jump something that small Fly it like you stole it!

The stronger you are, the better you can launch 4 and 8 way exits. The better your balance is easier it is to freeflying, example.....I know a girl who was a syncronised swimmer and she took to freeflying like a fish to water, the possition was totally natural for her. Fly it like you stole it! -
