Thats a VX 60 darlin.

*shrug* guess you have to know him...what's a little tug on a bridle on a sub-terminal opening. If he wasn't safe he wouldn't have made it to almost 3000 jumps without a single injury. As for tracking.....just ask the guys from Spaceland who won Lee McMillian's Last Gasp Tracking Contest.

Hehe....thought you were talking about Derek, except for the stuffing too large a canopy in to too small of a container. Ever want entertainment watch him do a hop and pop, pilot chute in tow every time. Of course it doesn't bother him at all, he just reaches back, pulls the pin, and out comes his hanky. :-) Kelli

Lets see the list so far as I know it from Houston is..... Cyndi, Brian, Jim, Jeff, Greg, Misc. Shreveport guys, Ronda, Derek and Myself. I think there maybe someone else, but I can't remember who. Kelli

Here is what my rigger told me / Why I pull my slider down. The slider can and will wear your lines out where they attach to the risers. Vectran lines wear out relatively fast as it is, and with that slider flapping at the top of the risers, they will wear out even faster. Even with it collapsed it still moves around. Also this is another place for your steering lines to rub against causing more wear on them. He did tell me about the performance benefits, such as flattening out the canopy, reducing drag, and such, but I do it to prevent wear and tear on my rig, and it only takes an extra second after collapsing it to pull it down behind my head. Hey Zennie....you should have come out on Sunday. A bunch of the San Marcos boys came out and Brian busted out his tube. It was sweet!!! Kelli

Don't worry you weren't the only one hurt that night. Chris (Tandem Master, Freeflier, red & black jumpsuit) was pulling back as hard as he could on the bungee cord to get it behind someone. Well his hands were between his legs and before he could let go, it broke. Unlike you he didn't pretend he wasn't hurt, he moaned like a baby on the cement for like 30 min. The night he sat in a chair by the fire with an ice pack on his crotch. This is probably why Derek doesn't drink either, although he did have two Coronas During the staff meeting. Kelli

*shrug* After the crap I heard on Sunday I'm glad I didn't make it out there. I'm really glad you guys had a blast and Houston treated you right, but for me the politics weren't worth it. :( Kelli

Saw florida was trying to get a record together, but we all know how they are with recounts. It'll be 3 months before we actually know how many got in. Kelli

Slappie if Derek and I end up going Derek will have his spare rig. Now don't be scared that you will have to fly a hanky, it's a J4 with a Safire 189. :) I know he would let you borrow it if we are up there. Kelli

There is a group of us here in Houston debating about heading up there that weekend. Kind of depends on everyones schedules. If we go Ramon do you want to join us? Kelli

I know exactly what you are talking about. I feel it is completely wrong for someone to tell you who you can or can not jump with. I personally love jumping with newbies, and giving them tips to keep themselves and those they are jumping with safe. Personally I don't want money to jump with someone who barely has any jumps. For me it is seeing that look on their face when for the first time when I let them go and they stick it. That moment when it just all clicks. Plus for me, when I jump with someone who is zooming across the sky and I'm chasing them it is also helping me get better. Bonuses everywhere. I actually do both RW and FF, and I jump with newbies on both all the time. Heck if I hear someone around the the bonfire say all they've been doing is solos, I make a point of asking them on a 2 way the next day, doesn't matter to me what they want to do. It's all jumping out of a plane for me. Kelli

Got you covered on that one Ted. http://www.jumpergirl.com/valentines/hanging4.jpg

WonderBoy = Derek....trust me it is a fitting nickname per his own post on Rec dot. "2600+jumps, all the ratings, including pilot & rigger" See.....he is wonderboy, a legend in his own mind. :P Errrr....hope he doesn't read this news group or my butt is going to be kicked. Kelli

He used to be one of the JMs out there and has his reasons for refusing to jump out there except for TSL meets. Actually he almost quit skydiving cause of it. So pretty much the odds of him and I breaking up are better than him fun jumping out there. So unless he is playing paintball that weekend or something we will be out at Skydive Houston. Kelli

*sniff* *sniff* I miss all of you guys out there. Maybe someday Wonderboy will quit hating Spaceland and I can come back out and jump. Kelli

Actually I have brought my dog out to Spaceland since the DZ ban on dogs, and well, it just isn't worth it. There is no shade around the parking area, and the campground and pond is not an option as I can't keep an eye on her as well as I could if she was in the parking area. I'm one of the responsible owners who picked up the poo after she went, and after the plane was put away for the night had her on strict voice commands so she could get a little exercise after being tied up all day. Trust me not obeying one voice command gets you tied up for the rest of the night. Anyway, for me it's not worth driveing over an hour to a DZ just to jump for a day because as soon as I'm done jumping I have to head home. No playing over at the carbonzone for me, sorry Paula no more body shots. So I now go to the other DZ in town they actually don't have a problem with her, I keep her out of the way during the day, and at night she gets to run around a little, as a bonus Skydive Houston is only 30 min from my house, so I get to sleep in my own bed after hanging out having a few beers. :-) Ann, have you talked to Andre about letting Flee jump? He seems like he would be reasonable, the only reason he said no dogs is cause people were bringing their dogs and letting the run free and poo everywhere. The worst that can happen is he says no. Kelli
