    Jumping buddy

Hey Cyndi, Derek and I might end up heading up your way for the 2nd and 3rd. We were going to do San Marcos, but I know he wouldn't have any fun since it would be all free fliers out there. So you better get the futon and the felines ready.

    Jumping buddy

I'd love to jump with you.
  3. Oh is that what B in BASE is standing for these days.
  4. Hey Zennie, even us understanding SO get a little not so understanding. I know when he is going, I've even ran ground crew, but it still worries the heck out of me. On the other hand it is sooooo not fair when I say I wanna go and make a BASE jump and all he says is.....NO. No lets talk about it, no well my gear wouldn't fit you, and you are to small for anyone elses I know, no I'm an industrious rigger I'll figure something out...just a no way in hell are you going BASE jumping.... Damn men Kelli
  5. Damn that has to suck....maybe clay can advise you on where to get an implant, or is that and extention, cause he said in some other post he went for the horse sized one.
  6. Well Paula it appears that you now have some new men to grovel at your delicate feet.
  7. *hand towel to hisgoofyness* Here you go darlin...don't want your keyboard to short out.
  8. Oh wait I found a very memorable one....Miss Paula would be the lady in blue.
  9. SWEET!!!! Just don't biff a landing oh young jedi knight.
  10. Ok well I couldn't find any pics of Paula's boobies, which is odd cause she always is showing them , but I have one with a bunch of jumper girls in summer attire, paula is the one on the bottom in pink. Kelli
  11. hahahaha....and this was brought to you by the same DZ that came up with the human sling shot on creepers that put slappie out of commission. Kelli
  12. Paula sweety....you need to go play in the snow just once. You haven't lived till you've made a snow angel.
  13. ok....the last think I'm going to say on this, is demo first before you buy, cause it's your $$$$$
  14. Hun, it didn't offend anyone, we just want you around to jump with. I've see so many people life flighted out in the last 2 years I don't want you to be one of them. Also if you check the fatalities this year in parachutist, there were several fatalities by people with under 100 jumps who did low turns or cut away from spinning line twists to low on high performance canopies. Please before you order anything, really talk to Derek and let him see you fly, come out to SDH. You can jump your 135 in my Reflex. The worst that can happen is he tells you to stay on the 135 longer, but with that he will tell you what you need to learn, at the least he may say go ahead and get something a little small, and at the best he will say go ahead and get the 69, just get someone who knows canopies and how to fly them to watch you, not those guy out at spaceland who think it's funny to plow furrows with thier landings. Don't forget that the Louisiana guys have divot numbers, the didn't get them from landing well under thier canopies.
  15. The post doesn't bother anyone, it's scares them. What happened this weekend? You used to make smart decisions, now it appears cause one person said that at 60 jumps you can handle a 1.7 wingloading you want to go for it. So at 60 jumps you are ready for what icarus calls a class 5 extreem canopy wingloading. ---------------------------------------- Class 5 Extreme 1.65 to 2.00 Lbs/SqFt wing loading Not for the faint hearted. If you are one of the few people that want to fly a class 5 canopy consider every aspect of what you are doing very carefully. On the up side there is very exhilarating airspeed, quick response times and powerful maneuverability. On the down side our margin for error has reduced to almost nothing (!), compounded by the fact that if we do make an error we are almost certainly traveling at speeds that can maim. If you have or are considering a class 5 canopy we can't tell you how to fly it in this overview, we must assume you know what you are doing. Most people I watch flying class 5 canopies don't fly them to the limits of the canopy and the performance they achieve from their canopy could be achieved from a class 4 canopy flown to its limits with a far greater safety margin. These canopies generally have to be run out on landing. They must be fitted with a collapsible pilot chute. Lowering and collapsing the slider and loosening the chest strap is recommended. Canopy recovery arcs can be over 400 Ft radius. The step from a class 4 canopy to a class 5 canopy can be quite large i.e. for a 80 kg jumper with gear and weights the difference between a 105 and a 95 feels similar to the difference between a 130 and a 105. -------------------------------- I'd say come out to Waller and jump my 104, that should scare you plenty into reconsidering your decision, but Derek would kick my ass if I did that. Oh well it's your decision, just make it an informed one, and not one cause someone who doesn't know you says it's ok to fly it. Kelli
  16. Tiffany, Ok, I have a feeling you posted this just to see what people would say. If you didn't, and you are really serious, I want to know who out at Spaceland you have been talking to that wants you to downsize. I know the downsize competions out there, and I've seen the participants get hurt, and we have bets going on several of the other ones. Have you seen John Lee lately, he isn't wearing that back brace to make a fashion statement. Yes I now jump a 104, and yes you will be able to jump one too, someday that is. I have/had about 300 jumps before I went that small, and I weight the same amount as you. Actually I would still be jumping my 116 if Icarus hadn't agreed to replace my defective crossfire. All you have to do to get there is get somemore jumps under your belt, stay current, the one jump a month that I've seen you do in the past isn't going to cut it. Bring that 135 out to Skydive Houston and have Derek give you some coaching, I know you don't have a rig yet, but I still have my old Reflex that that thing will fit perfect in, you can jump it all weekend if you want to. He will tell you honestly if you are ready for something smaller, or elliptical. If you posted this because you are pissed/freaked out about the way people out at spaceland are downsizing before they are ready, or it is making you feel uncomfortable because you aren't on something that small, they are scaring you in the air, or whatever. Just remember that not everyone is in a race to downsize even if it seems that way. Some people actually make the decision based on thier flying and where they want to go with thier canopy skills, not just becuase everyone else is doing it. Ask yourself what do you really want out of your canopy. I did this when I was deciding what size to get my replacement canopy, I said I wanted something that would be able to penetrate the wind, that on no wind days wasn't a death defying feat to land, something I could land in someones backyard, and one that would give me the ability to learn more. What do you really want out of your canopy.

    Burbles

Of course, I wanna try for an ugly girl bigway.
  18. Actually due to this very reason is why Derek no longer jumps a cypress. Neither Icarus nor Airtec could tell him it wouldn't fire while he was in a hook turn.
  19. Oh my god!!! It's chicken-boo from animaniacs.
  20. My rigger has a whole book full of pictures of rigs that he opened up where the previous riggered screwwed up or did something just plain odd. My personal favorite is the reserve that has some kind of smushed brown stain on it with in ink written right next to it, "Dead locus found here" with an arrow pointing to the stain.
  21. Hmmm...on my mirage you can't see any twists, and it didn't adjust the cables more than slightly. Maybe it's just the different manufacturing styles of the pillows.
  22. Actually this is exactly what my rigger did for me when I complained that my cut away handle was pressing into my stomach and I was worried it would be hard to grab. As for a twist causing a hard pull, I don't see how since the twist is inside the pillow where my hand is on top of holding. Also, I think that if your cutaway cables are so short to begin with that you have to worry about them coming undone from doing this, you might want to think about getting some longer ones.

    Burbles

Hey come out to SDH sometime, you can do little girl skydiving with Britney and myself. Probably should be able to get Debbie Dodge for a 4th and do some no lead 4ways. Then you don't have to worry about floating and getting in someones burble. btw...What I do if I know I'm going to get in someones burble is get as big as I can, then extend my legs and fly right over them without even touching them, and if I did touch them it's more of a glancing blow that most the time they have said they didn't even know I did. Kelli
  24. You mean there is a difference.
