My canopies name is sunshine, and she and the mirage I bought for her are sitting in one of the rollerbags people use for carry-on on airplanes. Fly it like you stole it!

Pammi here is what I think you should do. Take what every one has said, and watch your video a few times I try to recognize when and where things are happening. Then from the video visuallize how it would look if you did it right, maybe get a few shots of other people who are doing it right land. It won't happen overnight, but you will get it girl. Also I recommend changing only one thing at a time, or working on only one thing at a time, that way you don't go to far to the other side and get hurt. Fly it like you stole it!

Derek's revenge Fly it like you stole it!
-
Derek just threatened to start using the cat for pilotchute testing. Fly it like you stole it!

Well it is a reserve he is laying on....but it's the one used for getting chest mount ratings, so no one jumps it. If it was a real reserve it wouldn't be laying on the livingroom floor, we learn the hard way when we came home one day and he was snuggled up in my open reserver container (reserve was getting aired out for a repack) Fly it like you stole it!

Yep only ones that work for me are the Mini-flex Zs. Finally broke down and got a fullface to avoid the whole issue. Fly it like you stole it!

It looks like you have a really nice landing area, so you may be able to slide to a stop and not run at all. Do exactly what phree said but remember to not lean back, do like michele discribed it (like getting up out of a chair not sitting down) or the way I think of it, press the "the girls" on the chest strap. Then allow your feet to slide across the ground. Watch Chuck and the other swoopers there land, you will see them slide before they start running. Fly it like you stole it!
-
I hope you are doing this for the right reasons. Fly it like you stole it!

good job michele half the battle to fixing your own landing issues is identifying them. Only thing I would like to add is it looks like you are giving up and letting your feet roll under you rather than staying on them trying to slide it out. (If you did that you would probably slide in on your butt and the chair thing michele is talking about would make more sense). This could be due to your bootie suit, since I know it's kind of hard to run in those things. Maybe try a few hop-n-pops without your bootie suit and see if that makes any difference, I know it's a lot easier for me to run things out in my freefly pants than my RW suit. Also it looks like you may be flaring to high, but I'll have Derek watch it to say for sure, I've been watching to many elliptical landings lately. Ok I swear last time I edit this, but it looks like your canopy at full flight might be flying in brakes, next time you are up look at the tail and see how far you can pul the lines down before you see the tail start getting pulled down. I think it's suppose to something like 2 to 3 inches. Fly it like you stole it!

Bad girl, where's your helmet? When I was as Keystone on Friday, I was shocked by the number of people that still don't wear helmets. I wouldn't be on the board without one. I trust my skill level, it's the other people out there I don't trust. Plus you never know what you'll run into doing a tree run. You be safe and have fun. We'll have to get together for a trip some time. I don't do weekends. So far I haven't found one that I can stand wearing longer than 5 min. One of the guys at work is going to take me helmet shopping next week, he swears he can find me a helmet that will be comfortable. So we shall see. As for other people on the mountain...I don't trust them either, someone hitting me from behind and knocking me down is how I broke my wrist. btw...I work weekends so Mondays and Tuesdays are my days on the mountain. Although since it's snowing now I probably can't go this week, my Mustang isn't exactly the best for snowy mountain roads. Fly it like you stole it!

Well I live in colorado now so it's a bit far to drive. I'm heading to Copper Mountain tomorrow to test out my wrist (and it's new brace). Went to REI today and outfitted myself with some new snowboarding goodies, you know like bigger gloves to fit over my brace. Then of course I saw the cutest little backpack that I just had to have. (I swear the world would have came to an end if I hadn't bought it.) Now all I really really need ( I swear I need it) is a new hat cause mine doesn't cover my ears really well. Fly it like you stole it!

Ok this is odd...I'm from North Dakota and have never heard of Frost Fire. Fly it like you stole it!

Sorry Canada is just a little to far to go. Planning on going boarding on monday...test my wrist out on a few easy greens. Fly it like you stole it!

Who was hurt? Fly it like you stole it!

I'm not surprised....I'm sure there are many groups around the world celebrating that this happened. Fly it like you stole it!

hey now....Hook will make it look good as new. Your baby won't even know it has bandages on it. Fly it like you stole it!

Exactly.....I spent lord only knows how much on my custom container, and it didn't fit just right, I could still use it (put ~15 jumps on it) then decided I'd spent to much on it not to have it perfect. Mirage was awsome on figureing out what needed to be fixed and fix it. So who cares how you managed to afford it, all that matters is you spent the money on it, and you deserve what you ordered. For whoever is telling you to suck it up there are people here who can't afford a rig, tell them to stuff it. I personally refuse to feel bad cause I can afford things. We all make choices in our lives, buying X may mean you can't afford Y, or turning down opportunity B, for commitment A allows you to sleep at night. So you got a new mirage, if I remember right, due to this fact you were unable to go to eloy....Hmmm... (I'll bet money that Mirage will contact you before you even get a chance to contact them) Fly it like you stole it!
-
Mirage will also have your order form on file. When my harness didn't fit they were awsome at getting it fixed. 2 weeks from the day I sent it to them I had it back, and in my case they basically had to build me a new rig, replacing reserve pin cover shouldn't be as big of a fix. So find out if they mis-read the order form if your dealer mis-read the form, or what happened, then decide if you want to keep the rig or get it fixed. Fly it like you stole it!

I also really like the way it came. Although the way you ordered it is very pretty too... I know, I'm no help Fly it like you stole it!

Well pretty much for us it's a definate no. Fly it like you stole it!

Oh damn....then that makes this Deja vu for me. I was actually living here in Colorado at the time. (we moved around a lot when I was little so I was only here for like 6-9 months) It's odd, cause last night I was scanning some of the photos and different things Derek got when he worked for NASA. I can't get ahold of him to find out if he knew anyone who was up on this mission. Fly it like you stole it!
-
The best video I've seen of Derek's is where this guy tries to sit fly out the door. They exit and Derek's looking over the guys shoulder and sees his pasengers feet sticking strait out in front of both of them. His thoughts went something like this "Well this is interesting, didn't know an old guy could be so flexible. Hmmm....well might as well throw the drogue since we are stable." Then for the rest of the skydive the guy kept licking his lips, looked like a dog who just got a chunk of peanut butter. funnies video I have ever seen. Fly it like you stole it!

Just trying to keep you on your toes darlin. Fly it like you stole it!

For the record it's Lisa's fault she was showing off her bra at the time. Plus isn't a drunk hookie-poo the cutesst thing. You don't think TequilaGirl and I could have drank all those corona behind him by sweet innocent little selves. Fly it like you stole it!

I'm at work....and every saturday for the next 4 months I'll be here On top of it, my wrist still isn't 100% so I'm washing back and forth about jumping tomorrow. Well maybe just a hop-n-pop it's been almost 3 months since my last jump. Fly it like you stole it!
