There is an article, I think in parachutist, last year that Mike Turoff wrote about no inserts - vs. - plastic - vs. - metal. in every test the metal had the losest cutaway force. Plastic and Metal were very close, only a few lbs apart until it came to extreme then the pull force for plastic went up sharply. I'm to lazy to look for the article but it was last year sometime. My only advice is do not get state farm for home owners insurance. One of the guys I work with had the pipes leading to his house collapse. $6000 bill due to the street and front yard having to be dug up. Anyway, the guy doing it said that most insurance companies will pay for those kind of repairs. He checked it out, state farm won't....actually if the pipes in your house break, they will pay for the damage but not the pipes. I'm not sure who he went with, but he already has found an insureance company that will cover it if it happens again. So look around and find out who covers what before you pick an insureance company. Fly it like you stole it!

You know it's you she is thinking of when she is shredding that pasture. Hmmmm...then again I think it's me hook is thinking of when he is using the dremel. Fly it like you stole it!

It's actually a Chyanne (sp) and a C-172. Derek was actually in the air flying a C-182 about 5 min south of it when it happened. He heard everything on the radio from both planes and ATC. His flight path had him over fly the accident just minutes after it happened. Fly it like you stole it!

Different Harness Sizes: is there a huge difference?
skycat replied to Rookeskydiver's topic in Gear and Rigging
We had a thread about this last summer. Phreezone with everything tightened could do exactly what you posted, while myself unless everything was VERY loose got stuck in some less than pretty positions. I think the end result was if you are going to fall out, the odds of it happening to someone were better if he/she A) is flexible and B) has a long MLW. Fly it like you stole it! -
Will this work? It's one I took as he is about to grab my pilot chute btw...he steering lines are really long so he really isn't in that deep of brakes. Fly it like you stole it!

I beleive you Derek docked on me under crossfire 116 @ 1.1:1 and him under a VX 60 @ 3.1:1. Fly it like you stole it!

What's the best container for a petite female?
skycat replied to ranchgirl's topic in Gear and Rigging
well if you like mirage they do have the MOS, which holds a 126 main and even your 150 should fit in it, but it will be tight and according to mirage's chart you could eventually go as small crossfire 109 and pretty much the 120 in every other canopy style.http://www.miragesys.com/order/sizing/size-mos.html Fly it like you stole it! -
What's the best container for a petite female?
skycat replied to ranchgirl's topic in Gear and Rigging
I have an MXS and TequilaGirl has an MZS, both very very tiny rigs, and both of us are really small. The thing is mirage only makes the S series for certain size canopies, so it kind of depends on what size canopy she wants. Most really tiny rigs have 113 or 106 reserves. Fly it like you stole it! -
I know a girl who was a synconized swimmer, and is a total natural at headdown. The 3rd time she went headdown she was rock solid and by her 10th jump she could move anywhere in the sky she wanted and dock. Fly it like you stole it!

hehehe....yeah but I'd like it done with in the next year. He is currently swamped with rigging work (which is a great thing) and getting his master ticket (should have it in the next 2 months or so), so my stuff get pushed off to the side. Also I want to make sure that PD doesn't do like cobalt and the trim actually compensates for shrinkage. (ie it may not be recommended to switch lines) Fly it like you stole it!

Hmmm...that reminds me I was going to see of PD would put vectran lines on a tiny stiletto. Fly it like you stole it!

Well it wasn't a new years resolution....actually I can't remember what that was. I was planning on getting in better shape, but until my wrist can handle don't more than me taking it for a walk. Anyway as soon as I'm cleared to normal activity, I'll be back trying to tone up. Oh just remember my New years resolution...it was to quit eating red meat.....so far so good. Luckly it's can be in the teens and snowing and my cat it sitting out on the patio chair trying to stay cool, I know he was much happier after his shaves in June in TX. If you ever see a cat pant it's the funniest thing. Although he still wouldn't look at himself in the mirror. We have been trying to cut out the mats with Derek holding him, but we still need like 2 more sets of hands to hold him down. I compare it to going to the rodeo and riding the bucking kitty. HAHAHAHA....my persian is going to look like that in the next week or 2....yes he hates it, won't look at himself in a mirror. (he loves to look at himself in mirror). Since I broke my wrist I haven't been able to groom him (he fights it with all 16 razor sharp claws) so combine that with the lack of humidity, just petting him causes mats. So to the groomer we shall go, which is actually the vet cause they have to knock his evil, I hate you all and will make you feel my pain ass, out. I'll post a pic.....he looks like a little lion since he is red and has a much fluffier head than the above cat. Fly it like you stole it!

Don't want to hear it....Dr. Re-fractured my wrist friday taking off my cast. (BITCH) You could see it plain as day on the X-ray.....nicely knitted bone, with a fresh crack right next to it. SOOOOOOO......2 more weeks of a splint, and 4 more weeks of light duty=no jumping=no snowboarding. Are there any good Dr.s in this state....I'm about to go back to TX to see my old Dr. Fly it like you stole it!

skycat replied to Viking's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
