I've heard this argument several times as why to not get metal riser housing. Can someone please tell me who is slamming their risers in their car doors? I can't beleive there is someone out there who cares so little about their gear. On wait nevermind, *shake head* I see way to much gear come threw our loft that looks like someone ran over it with a truck. Fly it like you stole it!

Wow this is a blast from the past. Thank you greenies for cleaning up any vileness that bringing this back up was suppose to cause. For the record this was a mis-understanding a year ago, TG jumps with tiff everytime she comes out. I would too, but I moved to another state. Fly it like you stole it!

My advice is wait 2 weeks or so before jumping when you 1st get here, then needing O2 shouldn't be such a big deal. If you are moving to Colorado Springs come out and visit hooknswoop and me at Skydive the Rockies As for the crossfire (I have a 104)....it searches more on opening, the openings are a little harder, but it seems to take a bit longer to open. Another is cocking your pilotchute after you put it in the bag. If you get the kill-line wrapped around some fabric it can cause line burns and holes. Fly it like you stole it!

*more something* http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=857&ncid=757&e=10&u=/nm/20030301/od_uk_nm/oukoe_odd_bus ------------------------------------------- Traffic warden tickets bus at bus stop Fri Feb 28, 8:51 PM ET LONDON (Reuters) - Bus passengers in Manchester were dumbstruck after a traffic warden slapped a 40-pound parking ticket on their bus when it halted at a bus stop. Moments after driver Chris O'Mahoney pulled his Number 77 bus into a bay marked "Buses Only" an over-enthusiastic traffic warden issued the ticket, newspapers reported on Saturday. "All my passengers queuing to get on were gobsmacked (surprised) when the warden dashed over," O'Mahoney told the Sun newspaper. O'Mahoney said he repeatedly tried to point out to the warden that the vehicle he was driving was a bus and had every right to be stopped at a bus stop. Red-faced council officials subsequently scrapped the fine. "Issuing this ticket showed a lack of judgment," a council spokesman said. The warden is to be retrained. Fly it like you stole it!

*something* http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=573&ncid=757&e=2&u=/nm/20030228/od_nm/hanging_dc ------------------------------------ Man Complains Bad Rope Spoiled His Suicide Fri Feb 28, 9:21 AM ET Add Oddly Enough - Reuters to My Yahoo! BUCHAREST (Reuters) - A Romanian man plans to complain to consumer authorities about the poor quality of a rope he used in a failed attempt to hang himself, Romanian papers reported Thursday. "You can't even die in this country," 45-year-old Victor Dodoi was quoted as saying in the daily Adevarul. The newspaper said Dodoi's relatives found him hanging from a tree in his garden and managed to cut the rope with a knife. He was taken by horse-drawn cart and then by ambulance to a hospital in the northern town of Botosani. Dodoi said he would file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Authority about the quality of the rope, which was easily cut, as soon as he is released. Fly it like you stole it!

Actually here in CO a turbo 206 would probably be the best. Although our DZOs personal 182 is quite a nice little bird and has no problem climbing with a full load of rigs, rigging tools, and over night gear, (he picks us up Saturday mornings so we don't have to drive 2 hrs to the DZ) even on a super hot summer day Fly it like you stole it!

paid pack job chop, lost main
skycat replied to bodypilot90's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
We don't have to have a rigger supervise our main pack jobs here in the US if we're packing our own main. But it is supposed to be required if another person, who isn't a rigger, packs your main. Kris Yep it's an FAR now.....I don't have the exact wording in front of me. But now all packers must be under the direct supervision of a rigger. Fly it like you stole it! -
Check your own gear before you put it on if you used a packer or better yet pack for yourself, and make sure you cock it. There are DZs that start students out on collapsible PCs they have never known anything else, and to them cocking it is part of packing. non-collapsing pilot chutes can cause issues such as when you have a pilot chute over the nose. The pilot chute is still open filled with air, pulling the bridle tight around the nose. This can cause the canopy to have a built in turn and the worst case would be to have it collapse depending how many lines it wrapped around. (I had 4 of these in a row as a student) With a pilot chute that is collapsed I've never seen it be more than an annoyance if the jumper even noticed it. Fly it like you stole it!

I've flown quite a few times for work and pleasure where I was going to be gone for a day or 2 so I only brought an over night bag with a change of clothes and was able to put it all in a carry on. Grab "e-ticket" get it stamped at the gate get on plane. I haven't flown since all this TSA stuff started and Derek and I have been throwing around the idea of getting a 182 so we don't have to deal with any of it. Fly it like you stole it!
