Someone call PETA quick.... Fly it like you stole it!

probably still not what you are looking for, but this is what I use when putting together formations (ie. 4-way dives) that need to be printed out. Fly it like you stole it!

Then do lots of searches here. Do them by rig part, such as leg strap, harness, riser, whatever. Then take all that information with you when you do get to the DZ, and the rigger can tell you his/her opinion on the item/issue. Fly it like you stole it!

More than likely you will be fine putting a standard size 150 in it (190/170/150 = 120/107/97) it is when you want to put a 135 in it that you may have to worry about pack volume. BTW....I put packed your main when it was assembled and I'm possitive a 150 can fit in that container. Fly it like you stole it!

I have one of those airline carry on bags. Although I did splurge on one that has backpack straps and waist strap so when I go to places like Lost Prairie where the wheels are pretty much worthless I can just strap it to my back and carry it down the hill. Another option is go to an Army surplus store and find a kit bag, they are big enough to fit a rig and an extra canopy. (we use these to transport gear from the DZ to the loft.) When you are thinking of downsizing and worried about pack volume being to small, you may want to look in to an airlocked canopy (Lotus) or something with a closed off nose (crossfire), they pack up much bigger than thier standard counterparts. Example I have an MXS made for a 120 stiletto. I had a crossfire 116 in there and it was SUPER tight, I put a 97 stiletto in it and it was Very loose. Yet my 104 crossfire is still tight in the container.....So while I wouldn't go smaller than a 97 stletto I'd have no problems putting a 89 crossfire in it. Fly it like you stole it!

Student Rigs...how long do people normally use them?
skycat replied to andy2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I only did 10 jumps on student gear. The DZ decided it was safer for me to jump my own gear than student gear. (the harness slipped down my shoulders on 2 different jumps, on one of those both side came down to almost my elbows when I went to track) Fly it like you stole it! -
That only matters when riding in the skyvan. Fly it like you stole it!

Ummmm....I compare my crossfire opening to falling into warm ice cream.....does that count. Fly it like you stole it!

Well I just bought a sabre 120 from 94 with ~ 900 jumps on it. Other than updating a few things like kill lines on the slider it's in great condition. The things to look for are where was it jumped. Mine was jumped in lush green MN....now if it was in dry dusty AZ I would have passed on it. Fly it like you stole it!

That sounds like me...I have a cell phone but never really use it. Only time it comes in super handy is when I'm in a store looking for Derek (he likes to wander). Fly it like you stole it!
-
You accomplish that feat and I'll buy you a case of beer when you get to Perris in May! ltdiver Or you just find another 100lb chick like me.... someone like Brit's from houston (we can stand up strait in an otter nana nana boo boo) then we would make 1 whole person. Fly it like you stole it!

Both G3s......now if we had mains that would be on the small side for the container we probably could do it, but both of us have mains on the snug side. (nothing bigger will fit in hers and with a shoe horn I fit a 116 in mine. ) Fly it like you stole it!

only have a cell phone.....got rid of the home phone....who needs a home phone anyway. If I had kids, I would give them one of my 2 way radios...if Derek can get a hold of me to find out if I want chia tea or hot chocolate on the other side of the mountain, I can get ahold of my kids a few houses down. Fly it like you stole it!

I think it might be container/d-bag shape more than canopy size, since I have a 104 crossfire in a mirage MXS and my friend has a 97 stiletto in an MZS and neither of us can put it in grommet to pin. No biggie....neither of us birdman, although I've been thinking about trying it this summer at lost prairie when a friend of mine is going to have a bunch of demo suits. Fly it like you stole it!

Ok since I don't want to have to read all the posts....is this going to be at hollister or another DZ in northern CA? Since it's about time I met hookie-poo's Mom who lives in northern CA, this might be a nice time to do it. Fly it like you stole it!

The shape of my mirage d-bag won't allow me to pack it grommet to pin. Fly it like you stole it!

They that is what we do after the beer light is on or on winded out days. Oh and don't forget creeper slingshot, slappies fav.....then there are beacon rides.....the list goes on and on.....Skydiving is a very social sport....usually much more socializing than skydiving goes on. Fly it like you stole it!

Well an R350 is 150 reserve with a 150/135 main. I'm guessing the 360 is right around there. Fly it like you stole it!

3-5 look like crayola puked on your rig.... I like 1 or 2, voted for 1 Fly it like you stole it!

Whats the problem with Dacron? -- Nothing is wrong with Dacron, it's the kind of links they make with dacron that are bad.....I tried to take a picture of them but they either came out blurry or reflected to much of the flash back *sigh* The one I'm attaching is still to bright, but you get the idea, the dacron is just looped around and finger trapped into itself then zigzag stiched, there is no knot or anything. On opening the stiches take all of the opening force. I'll try and take a pic tomorrow in the sunlight and see if that helps.....the one on the right you can see pulling apart. Fly it like you stole it!

*laugh* he was the one who told me that about sigmas......he is checking his book right now......Apparently another rigger told him they collapse after the canopy is out of the bag. So everyone mark this in your books....hook was actually wrong about something. Fly it like you stole it!

Do a search on cutaways and line twists....there has been plenty of talk about both around here. Fly it like you stole it!

I've jumped a crossfire1 116, cobalt 120, crossfire2 108, crossfire1 104, Stiletto 97. Out of all of them the one with the least oversteer is the crossfire1, it actually kind of feels like you are flying a square until it comes time to land then it loves to dive. The crossfire1 104 had less oversteer than even the cobalt 120, so if that is your concern look for a crossfire1 that has not had the mod done to it. I've heard the mod shortens the recovery arc. Fly it like you stole it!

It can happen though.....Derek had a reserve ride this weekend on a tandem due to the stows being double stowed. Can you say tandem terminal reserve ride....OUCH!! ------------- FYI....tandems are different than normal deployments in that the drouge collapses after it is released and before the canopy is out of the bag...the outcome probably would have been different on a sigma or strong where the drouge collapses after the canopy is out of the bag.
