  1. I'm here... some days I'm really glad I live in Woking and walk to work! Coverage from BBC news here Vicki
  2. I am a Brit and I still don't give a damn! Vicki
  3. Am I the only person who really doesn't give a damn?!
  4. When Adam had his accident in the states last year he was insured with AXA and I have nothing but good things to say about them from the moment I called them to make the claim until they paid out. From that experience, I'd highly recommend them. Vicki
  5. Because I got back form a week of big-ways in Sweden late on Saturday and I'm now suffering the first day back at work blues... Vicki
  6. :18: Just returned from a week in beautiful Sweden doing big ways so all the jumps from the whole week are included! 18 jumps done, mainly 30+ way formation loads. The highlights were a 4 point 32-way and a 32-way diamond. Beer bought for first jump at Gryttjom (fantastic DZ!), first jump from an AN-28 and for my 1,100th jump! Vicki
  7. I re-lined the canopy because the openings were started to become unpredictable and generally strange. Landings weren't great either. I measured the old line set (microline) and the brake lines were 6.5 inches too short - hence why I was having problems! Post re-line the openings are far better than they ever were before even on a new microline line set. Performance-wise (as in how fast the canopy turns etc.) has not suffered at all by choosing dacron. I'm glad I did. Vicki
  8. I was so careful that I just observed the stones from the roadside! Sorry to say there were no goats there, virgins or otherwise. If there were, I would have got some telephone numbers for you! Vicki
  9. Not unless you danced naked around the altar before sacrificing a virgin goat. Well, to do that I would have had to climb the fence around the stones. And the spikes on the top may have been pretty painful if I was naked! Vicki
  10. We drove past Stonehenge on the way back from Netheravon on Sunday. Does that count?! Off to Sweden on Friday where the evenings will be really, really light! I can't wait! Vicki
  11. I decided to have my canopy relined with dacron when it was time for a re-line and the openings are definitely softer. I have noticed no loss of performance in the canopy and there was only a minimal increase in pack volume. I don't think I will ever go back to microline. Vicki
  12. Belated happy birthday Rosa! Hope you had a great day!
  13. Sorry, I'm from just outside London. No red-neck dialects here! We can't help how you guys on the other side of the pond abuse our language! Vicki
  14. Found it! Here if anyone else wants to see. Very cool! Vicki
  15. Awesome - congratulations to all involved. Now post pics! Vicki
  16. We probably use it as it is part of the English language which, IIRC, us Brits invented! Vicki
  17. Now that summer is over what are your plans? Aw, c'mon Clay. We get at least 5 nice days per year so I reckon there are at least 3 more to go! Vicki
  18. :8:0 An 8-way and seven 14/15-ways in the lovely HOT English sunshine! Summer is here at last and it was a WONDERFUL weekend!!! No beer owed that I can think of! Vicki
  19. Make sure you say hello if you are at Netheravon tomorrow!
  20. All BPA DZs adn therefore all UK DZs will require BPA membership - sorry! If you are a foreign visiting jumper you can buy temporary membership which will be good for one month. hth! Vicki
  21. OK... now I'm scared. So far as many people have a moral objection to porn as posted that they liked it providing sheep were involved! My pleasure Clay - couldn't have you feeling left out could I?! Vicki
  22. I agree entirely that the instructors probably did the right thing once I pointed out the out of date rig. My point was more that at this particular DZ it was one of the AFF instructors on that dive who did most of the "policing" of whether or not gear was in date! It didn't change what I do as we are fortunate in the UK to have a 6 month repack cycle. It just made me think "Hmmmmmmm..."! Vicki
