  4. yeah... and what about us giant chicks huh? those little petite chickies need to occupy the little men and make some gymnasts or something. I've seen so many 6'5" and taller guys with 5'nothin" girls... leave some of the giants for us giants. Wanna see height charts... I'm 73 inches tall, which if you check out this women's (white) height chart, i am not human. Here's the men's chart, sorry, not trying to hi-jack your men's height thread. Average women's height is 5'4" and average male height is 5'10". Check out other ethnicities here. I've gotta agree with Chuckie here though, height doesn't matter really, not in skydiving or relationships. Well, to me it only matters because I want to have awesome tall left-handed setter kids for volleyball. That's important. peace http://www.exitshot.com

High: Got to jump with my favorite person this weekend Low: The weekend is over peace http://www.exitshot.com
  6. Sweetass! Rantoul will rock, see you all there. Michael, I back you up, i know it was the insurance people's fault and not anyone running the convention. I don't care whether a big big plane comes or not, the convention is awesome and i'll be there! Opie, you owe me a team shirt. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  7. i think your absolutely right..and this forum or General Skydiving or Safety & Training are the places for those discussions...i dont think i'm alone in my annoyance of the discussions (that were) taking place in the actual incident thread. is it to much to ask that we leave that one place for facts, reports, first hand information and questions for clarification purposes? i'd rather not have to filter so much 'white noise' to find what i'm looking for well said Zen. (bold added by me) we agree we all learn from every possible scenario discussed, but the actual Incident thread is not the place for every possible cause. Let one thread stay true to the actual incident, speculate, wonder, "what if", take the tangent discussions elsewhere. all that white noise is also more work for moderators. please read and respect SkyMonkey's opinion on it HERE. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  8. Thank you everyone! i don't mean to bump this up, now's a good time since it's near the top already i guess... thanks for being cool with it Kreg, i was happy to see the first response remain nameless. Leave it to Steve to bust me on the next one. Oh well. yes, i'm a whopping 26. My kids all thought I was 20. A veteran school teacher, 20? I'm still a pup. This has been the best birthday yet! Phree, you should know how old I am. Chuckie, I expect a phone call. how about 2:09am (EST), since I was actually born at 11:09pm in California. Jessica/Sunnyone/Wendy/Michelle - thank you! Katie - thanks for posting a pic of Ducky, he should have accepted being adopted by now though. Hope he's not causing to much trouble, you know how monkeys and duckies can be. Sebazz, Mouth, skyMama - thank you. Zenister - i think that is the best way anyone has ever phrased happy birthday for me. very well said, can't wait to jump with you again when we're orbitting eachother, both with video... Kris - what can I say, i'm 26. wanna know how much i weigh too? bet you can't guess within 3 pounds. Kelly - thanks, see you tomorrow??? we won't be out till noon or so, gotta go to a Bat Mitzvah. Skybytch - i am honored that you have wished me a happy birthday. Jello Shot Guy - I am very honored to share this sacred birthdate with you. Happy birthday to you too!! so, uh, can i get some free jello shots in rantoul this year? and to top it off, wouldn't you know i was sang to about 10 times at school today. this is the best birthday yet. now, off this silly machine and out to have some fun we go. wooha! peace & thank you http://www.exitshot.com

  11. ok, i'll throw in my thoughts here. I totally agree with Josh, Zen & Sunshine. When I open the incidents forums, I want to find facts and answers. Each time I see a new post, I hope it's a real explanation of what went wrong, not a "my friends friend was there and called my friend and he said..." We all played the telephone game in kindergarten, it's not reliable. I also am disappointed to see speculation. Agreeing with Cajones from the Holly thread, I think speculation clouds the facts and confuses people. I do agree that we should be open to discussion of all possibilities, but not on the official incident post. I'd rather we had the patience and respect to stay out of it until the S&TA or official report is released. I too am very curious and want to know how something so seemingly unexplainable could happen to sweet Holly. I keep saying, "how could that happen?" "how?" "how?"... and it's natural to try to answer that, I speculate in my own head. But I refrain from sharing my speculations because I don't feel it contributes to the actual report of the incident, in the official thread. I refrained from getting into this discussion on Holly's thread, and started this one, because while I do have a lot to say, there is an appropriate place to say everything. Which is why our wise Sangiro has separate forums. Everything there is to speculate can be taken to Safety & Training. So many of these speculated scenarios have been discussed in Safety and Training already. If not, start the discussion of "what if"s there. I go to the Incident forum to see specific facts about a particular incident, catch up on the latest information/reports about that incident only. I don't want to have to filter through the posts of what might have happened to find the truth. ... still patiently waiting for answers, knowing we may never know what really happened .... peace http://www.exitshot.com
  12. Hey guys, what do you think. All this reading of an argument over what to post on Holly's incident thread is disturbing me. So let's try to bring it here. Can we discuss and clarify what should and should not be posted on that or any other thread in the Incidents forum? What is speculation? Where should it go? peace http://www.exitshot.com
  13. Direct to the weekend photos clicky
  14. I would also like to add that we are looking for an appropriate song/music. We must have permission to use the music, so we cannot just use anything. We have lots of music with permission to use for the video, but none of it would really fit the tribute to Holly section. If you know of any music we would have permission to use that seems to fit this, please let us know. Or if you have any other recommendations for it, also PM me or Cajones. I'd like to hear from those that were close friends or family with Holly, and might know what type of music she would like to hear. Thanks!!! xoxoxoxoxo's

  16. hey girl, i knew you used flash. I wasn't sure if it was dreamweaver or something else. I've used dreamweaver a little, but not enough to be good at it. (and i know no one writes html anymore) I was just curious if you do the site building, if your partner does, if you both do it... it rocks. the video didn't shake when i loaded it. hope to see you soon!!! lew http://www.exitshot.com

Do you do the actual web programming? What program do you use to build the site, just curious... The whole Elsinore site is awesome, incase I haven't told you. You're my hero too. Well, you can KatieBear, she's our whole country's hero for saving the world. I miss you guys! peace!!! xoxoxo

    "going unstowed"??

No apologies necessary. thank tom sanders for the excellent photo. that was in 2000, i ordered several copies of it from his website Aerial Focus. Lots of good stuff on there. Last year I jumped the bridge again, twice, and both stowed. Handheld was recommended for first time jumpers. peace! http://www.exitshot.com
  19. hope it's a good one! peace http://www.exitshot.com
  20. I would say getting a decent video is definately part of the equation. But we all have to start somewhere. I started lurking with tandems at a safe distance. Then after many video jumps (maybe 200, mixed freefly, RW), I started practicing video of Tandem's on jumps with experienced passengers. And after many practice video jumps, I slowly got comfortable to be close enough to get a good video. Once you've proven you are safe, with practice and familiarity with the TI, it is all about getting a good video. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  21. reading my previous post in this thread, it didn't sound safe. As I said I jumped with a tandem when i was very young jumper. the TI was my primary instructor and knew my abilities very well, he also had around a thousand tandems. I stayed on level the whole jump, about 50 ft away. I never attempted to dock with a tandem until I had probably 600 jumps. And even then, it was a very, very conservative approach. I've been videoing tandems for that last year, and will dock only if I know the TI very well and everything is very stable. As for my early lurking jump, I could never see myself allwoing someone with so few jumps to lurk when I get my TI rating. Safety First. Peace http://www.exitshot.com
  22. very well said Luis... I know that feeling, and it is the most wonderful feeling. I can only hope everyone has the opportunity to find this kind of connection with someone in their life. Holly is obvisouly loved by all that crossed her path, and even moreso on a deeper level by those who were very close to her. It makes me happy to know that Holly experienced this, as I appreciate those souls that are so intensly connected to mine. Spread the love and spread the joy of life, as Holly did so well. Thank you. Peace http://www.exitshot.com
  23. It's up to the Tandem Instructor. If the TI knows you well and knows your ability, then you might get the go ahead. But it's their call. I jumped with my mom's tandem when i only had 28 jumps, but the TI was also my instructor and coach for most of my student jumps, he knew i'd be safe. have fun. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  24. I want to scream NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! i don't know what to say that could possibly do justice to the big heart and beautiful smile Holly shared with us all. I know if she saw me right now she'd hug the crap out of me. I can't help it the tears just fall. Holly was such a beautiful person. She truly made an impact on me in the short span of this past boogie at eloy. What a gift she was to us all. fly on holly. fly on. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  25. I'd just like post a comment about Skydive Kansas. I went to Kansas City years ago (5 i think) to visit some family friends. At the time I only had around 20 jumps, but i was dying to make another jump. I didn't have my A license yet, didn't have gear, and didn't even know how to pack yet. I distinctly remember the Sharp's and their staff being very nice and welcoming to me. Of course i was a customer, but they went out of their way to help me. The didn't charge me gear rental, or even for a coach jump, just a regular lift ticket. Instead they had one of their staff, LittleJoe, jump with me as a coach/check kinda dive. The dive went great, Joe taught me how to pack and then invited me on a 4-way as he thought my skills were good enough for it. My first 4-way, got at least 4 points even though I didn't send in for a Falcon. They let my friend ride in the plane on one of the jumps. They and their friendly staff made it a wonderful experience. I usually have a bad memory, but I will never forget my one day at Skydive Kansas. Btw, James & Jennifer, I don't think i ever really thanked you. So thank you, for being so nice to me as a student. If i get a new Crossfire 108 like I want, I know I won't be able to jump it there, but I would definately stop in to see good people. peace http://www.exitshot.com
