  1. Hey Lou, how's your fallrate on a rodeo? I took Kelly (Skygod777) out on a rodeo bird jump this weekend and we were like an anvil. Granted I was rusty at flying the suit and kelly's no lightweight. He was also squirming around on me a lot, which made it hard... Just wondering. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  2. nice... you can't take a bad photo with an 11-meg camera and strobes... strobes rock. I would have liked to see more in-flight photos in the article. It is great to see Jari and Bird-man getting such great press though! Flock on! peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  3. Hey conventioners, I'm reading good things here. A map of local stores is important. Wal-mart is easy to find, hopefully they won't run out of water this year. Any foo-foo drinkers like me, FYI - Smirnoff Ice is not sold in Illinois, pick up a couple cases on your way there. The convention is not like any other dropzone everyone... And most importantly, if you have not yet read this post, please read and understand all safety information posted about WFFC. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Please read this for your own safety and for the safety of everyone else. Let's make this the safest WFFC ever! Thank you Chris for the post. Thank you! peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  4. I suppose i could help you out with that... are you sure you could handle it? peace http://www.exitshot.com
  5. Yes, it's awesome. Get your license before. and gear if you can. had more than 1000 people there last year, great skydives, lots of fun! i posted a poll in talkback about it. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  6. Girl you were partying with the wrong crowd... that's all i have to say. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  7. Thank you chris! What i really want to know is who is coming to Richmond The Boogie??? we passed 1000 last year, so i know they are out there, who are you? peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  8. I have not cut my hair yet, but will probably do so during the freefall convention and donate it. It's down to my waist just about. So 10 inches off will still leave it below my shoulderblades. I will survive wffc, unless some of the people on here attack me... peace lew COME TO RICHMOND!! http://www.exitshot.com
  9. Ok people, check out what Richmond has to offer for 6 days around Labor Day Weekend. It's the second largest boogie next to the WFFC, and it's awesome. So plan to be there. The fri & sat nightly parties and bonfires are worth the trip as well... See you there!!! peace http://www.exitshot.com
  10. Bigger and better every year. I can't wait for Richmond! bring it! peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  11. Thanks for the demo.... I use a Sony .6 for Tandems/RW and anything outside. Love it. Especially on tandems. I sit 3 feet in front of Cajones and his student while they do 360's and their bodies fill the frame... then when I dock on the student's hand, I get the face filling the frame with the priceless floppy cheeks and look of excitement. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  12. i've got video proof peace lew http://www.exitshot.com

    High/Low

High (yesterday): jumping a bird-man suit and flying around a tall cloud then through a hole between part of the cloud... Low: my arms got tired, really. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  14. Ok, I'm bringing this old thread back to life as my safire has a mind of it's own... I have a Safire 1 size 139 about 2 years old... I had always had good openings and the flare sucked when landing straight in, but most of the time I could front riser carve in without any problems... To make a long story short, it's gone wacky out of trim now and isn't jumpable. I'll let you know more details and how it turns out after a reline. But a heads up, if your break lines are a few inches too short, get them fixed right away to avoid worse problems in the future. btw, Derek has been very helpful with my safire issues... more to come peace, spread the love lew http://www.exitshot.com
  15. Nice! I'm in the middle of uploading all my Australia and New Zealand photos to send links to the kids' parents... 900+ photos... peace http://www.exitshot.com
  16. Hey Remster, you're computer has to finish a unit before it will show up on the list. give it a day or two. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  17. well chuckie, the store made us pay for the equipment when we tried to just walk out but those annoying alarms went off... again. and the ISP is making us pay for bandwidth... Cajones and I will love you for free. like in prison. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  18. Phree you are far geekier than Cajones or Arano, but I still think Cajones is smarter than you. bwaaahahahaahahaa Ok, just a thought to discuss, how much would you laptop-carrying-conventioners be willing to pay for access to wireless if it existed (for the whole 10 days, ie, flat fee)??? oh yeah, and WHY would you bring a laptop to the convention? are you that attached? peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  19. wow, nice flag! Randy and Ralph at Brush, Colorado here in the USA also have made a gigantic USA flag that they flew at Rantoul last year. I'm not sure the dimensions, but it's up there with the one you posted. When they're not flying it, it cover the ceiling and then some of a fairly large hanger. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  20. really? what a great idea! just don't spill your beer on the computers. peace http://www.exitshot.com
  21. Hey nice hybrid photos on your website! Thanks for the info. I ordered a Sigma 15. I've already got a 28-105 from the good old days when i was shooting film of normal stuff. Anyone want to buy a Canon A2E body??? (whoops, not really an ad, more of a joke that i payed a grand for that camera a few years ago and now it's worth a few hundred :( ) pieces are being collected, i can't wait to get it all put together... peace http://www.exitshot.com
  22. So I'm thinking of getting one of these for Cajones' second rig, and I read the specs on the website... Vigil: What is the slowest activation speed that the unit will fire the cutter at? 20 meters/second (approx. 65 Ft/sec) in student mode. Otherwise 35 meters/sec (approx 110 Ft/sec) ... which converts to about 45 mph. (at 800 ft) Cypres: The Expert CYPRES will activate and therefore cut the reserve loop when it detects a rate of descent above 78 mph (35 m/s) at an altitude of approximately 750 ft AGL (225m). My questions that's not covered on the FAQ's on Vigil's website is about that firing speed. When you set the Vigil on "Pro", is there a faster activation speed, i.e. so it won't fire while you're in an agressive turn/spiral? Second Question, is that annual check required? So who's going to buy the testing unit in the US??? I'll let you know if what Vigil's reply to my email is as well... peace http://www.exitshot.com
  23. Hey guys, how is your 10D mounted? anyone on the L-bracket on your forehead? what lense are you using? how far does it stick out? thanks! lew http://www.exitshot.com
  24. Bringing to life old thread... How does the Sigma 15 work on 10D, any vignetting? any watchouts? any better suggestions on lenses? thanks! peace http://www.exitshot.com
  25. Yep, I need one of those. When you find it/make it, let me know, i'll buy one. I was just shopping for something for my new 10D. I'm browsing through here to see if anyone has set up something that works with a 10D without splicing? anyone??? thanks, peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
