    This is what really annoys me. Reports that state meaningless statistics. Pray tell me, what is this "worldwide rate"? Are all landmasses sinking at a rate of 0.4 feet per century?     What is exactly an "average swooper" ? As I already said, I am happy leaving my cypres on for freefall jumps. But when I start adding weight and start turning more than 360° I am not so confident anymore. Am I no longer average when I add weight? Or do I have to keep my turn to less than 360° to remain average? Or am I average irrelevant of weight and turn? Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

    I have just re-read the incident thread and although it was asked more than once, there is no clear answer to :- 1) how many rotations before the fire 2) wing loading So I ask myself, is under a Velocity 90 loaded at 2.4 turning 360° a risk? Maybe? Definately not? I dunno, so I'd better leave it switched off for swoop jumps, for freefall jumps I will leave it on. On freefall jumps my WL is only 1.9 and I don't really get a chance for lot of turns due to traffic at landing time. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

    Ahhh, that explains it. The quote was from the newspaper. Reading news or watching it, is starting to drive me crazy these days. I love (read hate) the news on the radio where after reporting on Kate Moss's coke habit, they then cut to someone giving their opinion of it.     Have you considered a Nitro/Nitron ? They certainly make them in small sizes and although they claim they are HP canopies, I don't think they are that HP. I guess really light people are like feathers, it does not matter how small the canopy is, a feather will still go backwards in the wind Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

    It's interesting that in a number of posts people have said, " I have jumped without an altimeter and I did not pull low, if anything I pulled high".     The fact that there is no irrefutable proof that aliens exist and have visited this planet proves something very profound. It proves that we will never leave this rock to colonize new worlds. As was pointed out, the universe is simpley too big for aliens not to exist. They must be out there and not just one or two alien races, there must be millions of them. So why have we not seen any aliens? The answer is because they cannot get here. The universe should be full of aliens zipping back and forth, but it is not. This can only mean that Einstein was correct, travel faster than light is not possible and there are no short cuts. We are stuck on this rock we called earth and always will be.     10 Tanks? Think of the running costs, lighting, pumps, heating, it all cost's money. Also the tanks do not last forever, I have heard that after 8 -10 years you should replace them before they leak.     Yep, I sold a Nissan 200 SX with a broken gearbox. So you couldn't test drive it. I got a good price for it as well considering I thought it was scrap. I have also sold a Kawasaki ZX750R on ebay as well. I would never buy a car from ebay though Dave Fallschirmsport Marl
