Longest recovery arc: Safire1 or safire2?
speedy replied to freeflydemon's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Russian, French, or from the friggin moon, the kid's got a serious question and this is the best answer you two cool guys have is to bust his balls about how arc is spelled...wow, thanks for the insight. Ok, while I applaud the OP's question about recovery arc for swooping, I think at 300 jumps, there are other things that are of more importance. There are lot's of skills to be learned in skydiving and I don't believe that at 300 jumps you have addressed the more important factors than the differences in recovery arc between two canopies. The recovery arc is of no real interest unless you are attempting HP landings. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl -
Well I scanned the first 60 posts and found no boobie attachments so I think I will skip the rest. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

and the title How does skydiving insurance = medical insurance ??? As an interesting side story, we have in Germany 3rd party insurance. Someone I know had a canopy collision and ripped a couple of cells from someone else's canopy. The insurance paid up for a replacement canopy as the insured was deemed to be at fault. Jumping at a DZ that requires an AAD
speedy replied to Gravitymaster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My answer wasn't there. I would continue jumping there without an AAD. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl -
Does exit order of "same" group types matter?
speedy replied to Newbie's topic in Safety and Training
At my DZ, the slower fallers nearly always go out first. But that's because of the way we organise our drop run. What determines who goes before who is dependent upon :- 1) Drop run starting point and ending point relative to the landing area. 2) drop run orientaion to the wind direction. 3) Wind speed/direction at altitude 4) Wind speed/direction at opening height 5) Type of jumpers, Freefly, skysurf, belly, birdman, CRW, atmonauti, track dive etc 6) size of group. 7) size of plane/ number of jumpers exiting 8) Opening altitudes Anyone want to add some more parameters? Does exit order of "same" group types matter?
speedy replied to Newbie's topic in Safety and Training
On a crosswind jump run, assuming the wind is coming from the same direction at all heights, no. I wish that people would take the time to read the resources available and then answer such questions themselves, or in discussion with other experienced people at the DZ. Sometimes it is difficult to answer yes or no and what people really need is to understand what the variables are. Try starting here http://www.iit.edu/~kallend/skydive/#resources Hi, can you please point me to the resource on that page that allows me to read up on exit order for same group types with same sizes. I have looked at that page before, but can't see anything specifically for same group size/type separation issues Thanks For the same group types and same size, it does not matter. There is a lot of information about calculating the separation, even for when freefliers go before belly fliers. Use the information provided to work out what separation you need to be safe. -

EDIT BY REMSTER: As fun as it may be, no personal attacks. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Yeah, but what about the monkey, pirates and coconuts? No one has answered that one yet Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

You could always do it the easy way like me. Wait until you have a heart attack and then give up

I am still not sure how many coconuts there were Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Hey Ron, the tandem masters at my DZ are trying to kill me! Everytime I do a video for one of the pax's the tandemmaster tries to crash into me when he lands. I have tried landing at different spots in the landing area, but EVERY time they aim straight for me. DO you think I am on a list or something? Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Do you think it was the result of the first cloning experiments by the Koreans? During cloning it lost the DNA for fur, but gained a few extra bits for claws I am still not sure if it really is a dog Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

N.A.S.A Nearly Attempted Skydiving Again I like this game

There is something seriously wrong with that dog on a genetic level (I'm not saying that as hyperbole, I actually mean it). It would seem unfair the enter genetically challenged dogs into competition. I mean, you could start to question whether it really is a dog. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

It appears that 'reposts' in the bonfire will be locked by the moderators. Or maybe the mod just doesn't like dogs . Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Post em if you got em - fun 2 way exit ideas wanted!
speedy replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ok, heres an idea. One of you gets a rig where the container has been removed and alls that's left is effectively the belts Nip down to your local DIY store and get some rather hefty hooks and sow them on to the containerless rig. The other guy adds some extra hookup points for the hooks on his rig. Before exit you hook each other together and then jump! A perfect two way with no problems of losing each other. You may see some others at your local DZ doing this as well. Ask them for advice -
Apparently it's not a photoshop! http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/uglydog.asp Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Example A) Here in Germany a guy repacked a girls main with a guaranteed mal, then reclosed the reserve so that the loop was not routed through the cypres cutter, then cut through the reserve cable. It worked, the girl died. Example B) Last weekend someone tied a knot in my bridle while I wasn't looking. That did not work, I just untied the knot. Can you you see where you fit in here? A or B Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

I think UntamedDog's advice was only an attempt to help fullfill his desire. You will probaly see him at the ranch observing veter with interest. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Hey Yuri, are you really a porn star? If you are, then I apologise in advance, but somehow, with that profile I find it difficult to take your comments seriously. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

I trashed a cell phone after a hard opening. Also don't jump with one if you are at risk of a chow in the swoop pond. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

SwoopDance 3rd of sept. Busslloo Netherlands
speedy replied to DoubleDutch's topic in Events & Places to Jump
You know something? I just can't dance! I'm wiggle a few things, but it just doesn't come out right. Still, I look forward to taking part in the swooping. Looks like it will be a mega event Dave Fallschirmsport Marl
