So I take it it you did not see it actually snivel. If you were not stood up it would suggest either bag lock ( although I was stood up in this situation) or pilot chute in your burble. Neither has anyting to do with your closing loop. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Swooping.....people are different!!!!!!!

Imagine trying to teach some one to race an automobile before they can drive.... Learn tightrope walking, start here, no saftey net, 100ft high.... Learn to ski! But please start on the black slopes.... If the above makes sense then I suppose you can start on 180's at 100 jumps Dave Fallschirmsport Marl -
Why grip the riser's as high as possible?

60 cm or 23.6220472 inches, I would have got longer but that is the maximum length where I can still reach the slider. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl -
Why grip the riser's as high as possible?
speedy replied to speedy's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Thanks for the input guys. Pulling or pushing, well that's another thread My thoughts were.... if I attempt to grab them as high a possible, by the time I have my ultra high grip, the canopy is starting to come out of it's dive. As I relax my body after stretching all the way up there, I will be applying at least some pull on the rears which will shorten the recovery arc. This means once I have built up my speed in the initial dive (long recovery arc here is preferable), I can the convert it to horizontal speed slightly quicker by inducing a shorter recovery arc with this stretched grip. -

Why grip the riser's as high as possible?
speedy replied to speedy's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I have been told that when I switch from the front to the rear riser's I should try and grip them as high a possible. What advantage does this have over gripping them slightly lower? Attached is a picture of me gripping them too low Edited to credit Andreas Reiners for the photo. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl -

In the case of a low pull, the AAD may increase the risk of being injured or killed. 2 outs can be dangerous. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

I jump a VX and a Velo on a regular basis and in my opinion the Velo opens nicer than the VX, but the VX opens quicker. I tend to be in line twists more often with my Velo, but I suspect the twists are coming from deployment bag tumble. The Velo is loaded higher the the VX which can also affect the openings. I haven't had the chance to jump skyspikes xaos yet but I have seen some interesting openings from it whilst viewing from the ground Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Adding a 360 is preferable, but, if you are misjudging your entry by that much you probaly have no business doing a 360. If you treat a 270 or a 360 as nothing more than a series of 45's in sequence, then at various points during the turn you can always lengthen out some of them to lose more height. Well there you go.. I must admit, it took me by surprise. I never thought that it would happen. I mean, would you? Nothing up until it happened was out of the ordinary, well not really, I've seen much more likely candidates, still, who cares... safe landings and long swoops

talking about entry gates... we are about to order gates that can detect as little as 0.8 mm travelling at over 100 mph thro the gates. Is $400 a good price? Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

3m is pretty colse close to 10' but 1m is way off 5'. Unless the 'm' represents miles, then both are way off. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Pack jobs are only there to reduce wear on material. It's difficult to pack malfunctions unless you do do something really stupid. Don't blame the packer unless he/she has done something really stupid. just my 2 cents worth Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Could this really happen to/with any other rig (long)
speedy replied to feuergnom's topic in Gear and Rigging
In my opinion that is the main problem here and it should be fixed. Alas I am not a rigger so no one is interested in my opinion. I cannot see any way I could reproduce what is shown in pictures 5 and 6 here with my Atom Legend unless you took a pair of scissors to the rig 1st. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl -
I can't answer your poll because I did not go over 1.4 until I had more than 500 jumps. I also did not hurt myself doing it Dave Fallschirmsport Marl
