That is not actually the case, the risers were cut above the ring attachment points and one of the guys is sending his back to se if they will replace them. All 6 risers of the 3 sets made by TSE were identically manufactured incorrectly. I have published this publicly so that owners of this equipment can be aware of a potential problem that 'could' present a safety problem. 2 sets of Talon risers and 3 sets of TSE risers have been grounded out of about 50 rigs (mostly strong tandems) of most of the popular manufacturers. at our DZ alone. With the recent mandatory 3 ring inspection imposed in australia by the APF we found all 3 of the teardrop containers (risers) at our dropzone to be manufactured incorrectly. thay have been grounded and destroyed now. What was peculiar is athat all of the teardrp risers were made the same wit the same faults. The loop for the cutaway cable too short and the loop for the middle ring (large ring in the riser) too long. No metal to metal contact in the rings and all with exactly the same problem. I can see what you mean but surly you use a ring sight? My optima Led is on my ringsight with my cam eye 2. The Led is wonderful when i am working out a new routine as one can get pre occupied when doing so. I have not yet met someone that has not had trouble (refunds) with a hype eye, and don't know anyone that still uses the one that they have in thier helmet or handcam glove. This is only a group of about 10 people but it seems the hype eye has too many functions than necessary for skydivers. we had 3 sets of risers grounded at our DZ, 2 from thomas sports equipment (teardrop) and 1 from PA. Now we all have APF010801-b graffitied on all of our risers, and have to look at that as it has been put (by accordance to the mandate) on the rear surface of the front riser on every single parachute system in Australia. I hope the manufacturers will not charge the customers for replacing the faulty ones that are grounded! That incident was the fault of the owner and parachutes australia. The focus however has been put on all equipment manufactureres and riggers. parachutes australia made the faulty riser, the owner jumped it, and ignored a safety bulleten. Only captured by video and still cameras, and are a phenomenon that nobody understands entirely. In the documentary about them they were caught on camera by base jumpers jumping in that giant hole in the ground called 'Cave_of_Swallows'. My friend did a base jumping expedition there and after the documentary, we watched his footage in slow motion and what do you know..., rods everywhere, not birds not bugs but things going faster than any known living thing and variable in size. from small to much larger than a human. there is footage of them flying through tornados and all sorts of things, Living organisms, computer glitches? you decide, i don't believe they are computer glitches as still photographs have been taken in the same places with the same type of image but with Film, also the rods in the cave were taking the 'same lines' so to speak, as the swallows that inhibit the cave. Video glitches wouldn't be that organised. I'm fucked if i know what they are, but i wouldn't worry about mars attaking though?
