Last week Adam was in the bottom two with Matt. I wonder who Matt's supporters are likely to gravitate to? Alison and Danny were safe last week. That surprised me. I think Alison picked up Lil's voters. My theory is that if she can make it to the top two she will beat either Danny or Adam. If Kris goes home tonight as many expect where his voters go will likely determine if Alison makes it to the top 2. If in the top two: She will beat Adam because all of Gokey's Christian supporters will vote for her to prevent that homosexual Adam from winning. She will beat Danny because Adam's supporters will not vote for Gokey for the reverse of the above. That's my theory anyways! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I think the WWDC will be focused on iPhone OS 3.0 and possibly the next release of OS X Snow Leopard (10.6). There may be new iPhones but I agree that updated laptops and iMacs are doubtful. I have a black Macbook at home and if the low-end Macbook has the same screen I wouldn't recommend it. Viewing angle is too narrow and I am constantly adjusting the angle of the screen. I buy my Macs & iPods from Apple's refurb pages on the online store. You save some cash but have to be careful that you get enough ram, etc. as the models can't be configured. Same warranty as buying new. Jerry - If there is an Apple Store close to where you live they have all kinds of possibilities for you to check out Macs and see how to do things with them. Here is a listing of all the US Apple Stores. If you click on a location it will take you t a page that shows you the workshops you can sign up for. SOme of the workshops are specifically for people with a new Mac or people that are thinking of getting one. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Vote For The Worst: Top 4 Rock Week - Karaoke Gokey Hits the Worst Note in Idol History Gokey sucked last night...and not just at the end of "Dream On". He should be the one going home. Jerry, It won't take you very long to figure out the lay of the land. Within a couple of weeks you'll feel completely at home in most regards. You can still run Windows in a number of ways. You can even load Linux. You can run them all at the same time if you want to. I have XP and Ubuntu running as Virtual machines using Fusion on my Mac at work. I can drag and drop from one OS' desktop to another...etc,etc. Cheers, Murray

Definitely a shit break for the Wings. The referee felt like a home-made turd...it was written all over his face but the call had been made and the game is in the books. Wings season depends on getting a win Thursday....that's what I think. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Andrew, Given that Bettman said in March that the Coyotes weren't moving, they were going to find new investors..blah, blah.... I'll be surprised if this actually happens. The offer of Balsillie is contingent on the move so if the league doesn't approve it won't happen...but then what will happen to the Coyotes? Will the NHL take over..similar to the Expos/Nationals in baseball? Well, the bankruptcy judge gets a say now. It limits the league's moves somewhat. Remember the NFL told Al Davis he couldn't move the Raiders. We'll have to wait and see while they work it out. Where in Southern Ontario would they move the team? Hamilton? Can't imagine the Leafs being happy about that. London? A bit more central. Windsor...right across the river from Detroit...can't see that either. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Hahaha!!! I share your feelings towards Pierre Maguire. I can't stand the shouting and belligerence of the guy. MONSTER! Chuck- Re the Ducks taking a dive....Pronger went down pretty easy in the first game I think it was when he was checked from behind. It was noted by the commentators on the broadcast I was watching. Countdown is on .... just a little while to wait for Ducks-Wings #3!!! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

There's another good series! Maybe, I should be watching it. Have you noticed, since the 'strike' and the 'salary cap' how the teames have been balancing out, as far as skilled players? Chuck Sidney also got a hat trick but Ovechkin put on the SHOW! CBC commentator and former goalie, Kelly Hrudey, said the two that Ovechkin got from the hash marks area were goals that just put fear into goaltenders as there is nothing you can do but hope that your positioning is good because you don't have time to react on blasts like that. Nice to see the big names perform...not like buying World Series tickets to see A-Fraud -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I don't believe, I ever said that the Wings were a 'sure thing'. The Ducks are a tough team and the Wings definately, have their work cut-out for them. Today's game was damned good! I don't think Ozzie saw that over-time goal coming. All in all, the Ducks were quite good at breaking-up plays and really seemed to have control of the neutral zone. The Wings seemed a bit sluggish in the first two periods. They seemed to slack-off on defense going into the third. They need to see more out of Datsyuk and Hossa. I will say again, it's going to be a hard fought series and I'd like to see the Wings win it. There's still, five games left and it ain't over till it's over. Chuck Chuck, When I read predictions of 4 games or 5 games, my feeling is that somebody thinks it's a sure thing. Out of the 7 other teams remaining...I think that only the Ducks and maybe the Bruins are teams that can beat the Wings....and I don't know about the Bruins after getting shutout today by the 'Canes. If the Ducks win Game 3....lookout! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Chuck, Mike, I just got home from the lake to see that the Wings no longer have home ice advantage. 59 shots Hiller stopped? The Wings are far from a sure thing against the Ducks. Both of these games have been close with Lidstrom only getting the winner with 49 seconds left in the first game. Of course, he'd have only tied it if the refs hadn't called that bad penalty against Brown. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
-
Chuck, On the CBC broadcast one of the Wings was asked between periods about running Hiller and he smirked and said Hiller had better get used to it. The Wings look ready to play as dirty as they need to in order to win. This is going to be a battle. If a guy gets stitches on a clean check from getting cut by his visor...that's just too bad. Murray -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

The announcers on the broadcast I was watching didn't figure there should have even been a penalty called! They said he got cut when his head hit the ice, not from the check. I thought it was a clean check...perhaps a bit late but pretty close. Cruising through the middle looking behind you is asking to get creamed...and he did! Brown didn't put his elbow to him but hit him with his shoulder. I don't think a suspension is called for at all. We had company so I was watching the game out of the corner of my eye but I felt that the Ducks narrowly averted getting blown out. I saw lots of loose pucks that happened to land where the Ducks could clear them but it could easily have led to a lot of Detroit goals. I didn't think the Ducks generated as many opportunities. I don't want the Wings to win but they look like the best team still playing to me. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

This hasn't been as popular a thread as last year but I'm still checking in.... I completely missed last night's show but I have to agree with you on how they just pimp some people over the others. I sure hope that Alison makes it to Rock Week which she should own. When I heard that last night was "Rat Pack" night I was hoping that Adam would do "My Way".....the Sex Pistols version I still am hoping for a Ramones night....you had some great song choices last year out of the Ramones catalogue. I am sure hoping that Matt is gone tonight. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Completely agree. Crosby/Ovechkin - These guys both want to be #1 and it should be awesome watching them trying to prove they are the best. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

You're exactly right about Thornton. Here is an article about Joe skipping meeting the media after the loss and letting his teammates answer all the hard questions. I dunno... they may have a hard time finding a golf course locally where they won't get attacked by rabid fans. Stupid Sharks. Oh well. At least they have a trophy to drink something out of. The President's trophy is just a bitter reminder of what incredible underachievers the Sharks were this year. A few nights ago the broadcast I was watching played some clips of Joe Thornton...skating away lackadaisically from a scrum in front of the net...not responding when somebody from another scrum reached out and hooked him with their stick. I know he tried to play more physical and be more of a presence in the last couple of games but I have come away from this season's playoffs thinking Thornton just doesn't have the desire to win that you need to lay it all out and go for the Cup. He's the Sharks big guy that they brought in to win a Cup with....they'll never win the Cup with Thornton is my conclusion. Too bad, I was hoping this year they could make a run but they didn't play well enough to win. The Ducks are playing awesome right now. There isn't a team still playing with a better #2 goaltender so even if Hiller hits a rough patch Giguere has done it before. I can't think of very many players that are more fun to watch and more likely to create a scoring opportunity than Scott Niedermayer. The Wings are going to have their hands full and I think will be lucky to beat the Ducks. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Caps- Rangers Friday April 24,2009, Game 5...Ovechkin was on a mission tonight and pulled off one of the most awesome moves since..his last one I guess. I love watching that guy play. Caps now down 3-2 but if they keep playing like they did tonight they will advance. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

The Chicago-Calgary series is ON! What a great game tonight. Flames get 3 in the second to go up 4-1 and the Hawks tie it up before the period is over. Great game to watch. Flames got one an an empty netter in the third to win 6-4. Habs are done and the Montreal fans..proving what pricks they can be...cheered Carey Price when he made a routine stop. I didn't see all the goals but Price didn't have much help out there on a couple. Assholes...booing the American anthem and then giving it to their own goalie. Reminds me why I quit being a Canadiens fan about 27 years ago when they mercilessly hounded Doug Wickenheiser for the transgression of being drafted by the Habs instead of hometown boy Denis Savard. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Thanks, man. We needed it. Once again speaking as a complete hockey whuffo (ie feel free to ignore the following as the likelihood of me knowing what I'm talking about is extremely slim)... I think Nabby needs to be taking a night off real soon. Did they sit him at all at the end of the season? He has been a horse this year, playing in 62 games in the regular season. I don't see him watching any games from the bench anytime soon though. You can't tell...three years ago the Hurricanes threw Cam Ward in net when they were down 2-0 to the Canadiens and they won that game and then went on to win the Cup. I think that in the third round Cam sat down for one more game and then came back and went the rest of the way for the Hurricanes. That has to be the toughest decision for a coach to make. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I just came back from my noon hour kick boxing class. I spoke to the instructor (30 years experience, 4th degree black belt karate, brown belt judo, knows BJJ and FMA as well) about the fight and he was very impressed with some of the things that Silva was doing...foot sweeps and so on. He said it was like Silva was sparring with a student. He enjoyed the fight but I am sure that a lot of what he was seeing wouldn't be anything that most people would have noticed. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Sharks-Ducks 1-1 after 2.....I am totally on edge watching this game. Sharks are playing better but I don't know if it will be good enough. I think that the next goal wins it. Edited to add...3-2 Ducks. The Sharks gave it a good try but Anaheim is just playing too well. I think the Sharks are toast and the Ducks are a legitimate contender. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
