  1. 0:4:0 Four this weekend. 2 B-rel jumps, and I finally passed B-rel 2. Note to self: don't reach for grips. They've put weights on me for the time being, so I don't have to concentrate as hard on not being floaty. 1 jump into the Busselton Air Show. That was good. We planned a 6 way, it built to 5. break off at 4.5 and I dumped at 3.5k. I was the first open, everyone saw me first... nya nyaaa :), and my landing was only 10m from the cross. Looking down at all the acft on the ground was neat. 1 canopy control demo for some S/L students. A nice easy jump on that one. Practiced some leg and arm turns. dump at 3. had an FXC fire as I dumped ( it was set at 2.5) Full canopy control for me by the TA. I just enjoyed the view. A nice weekend. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

  3. Question: What are triple risers? Do you have any pics? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  4. Yep, same here. We've got radios, an arrow and batons for canopy control. The radio is primary, with the arrow as backup for driving the student around the sky. Once the student is on their finals, then the batons come out for the toggle movements and flare. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  5. The radios at our DZ are worn hanging off a strap around your neck and inside your jumpsuit. There's and earpiece in the helmet, and it goes down and plugs in. It's one way only, unless you pull it out of your jumpsuit and talk back. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  6. or you can go S/L and get more canopy time... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  7. Thats the limit for tandems in Australia. 14 for tandems and 16 for solo. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  8. If we assume that Pioneer has travelled at a constant speed over it's journey (31 y = 1x10^9 s, 7.6x10^9 mile = 1.22x10^13 m) then it is travelling at 12200 ms^-1, with respect to (wrt) the earth. This is the same as the twin paradox. Pioneer has gone to a place 1.22x10^13 m away wrt the earth. It has a speed of 12200 ms^-1 (wrt) the earth. There is also a length contraction to worry about So, we think it's travelled 1.22x10^13 m, Pioneer thinks it has travelled 1.2199999989912x10^13 m. L=Lp*sqrt(1-(v^2/c^2)) So, travelling at 12200 ms^-1, gives us a time of 0.999999999173115x10^9 s. Which is less than the 1x10^9 that we started with. The difference is 0.8 s. Basically, it's going too slow to have much of an effect. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

I've heard good things about RMW suits, and TADS. One of my instructors has an Airsuit. Has anyone heard of Spirit Skysports? What are theire (RW) suits like? I'm just trying to figure out what to get... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

    How much?

I was wondering how it worked... Is it possible to set it up so you can transfer your data without having to take it out of the clippy holder thingo? I'm just thinking of the way that a couple of the people at my DZ have their Protracks set up. It would be difficult nigh on impossible to take it out of the holder. Then again, it's not going to fall out... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

  18. I believe it clearly states in the Beer Rules that only one case is owed for multiple firsts that occur on one skydive. Although I'm sure nobody would object to you buying two Ahh yes. If multiple firsts happen, then it is only one carton. However, if you conspire to have multiple firsts on one jump, then you owe for each. ie you first raft jump, from a skyvan on your 100th.
  19. Unless you do it deliberately, then you owe for each of them.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  20. 0:3:1 3 jumps, and I started my B-rels and a carton for my first head down. That wasn't all that bad actually. more.... give me more..... MUHAHAHA!!! -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
