Not too bad at all. Got about 33 jumps in. Would have been more, but we lost two days to weather. I cranked out the rel work. I learnt that I can sink out on 4 ways and 8 ways. I need to work on my negging to get back up without skating around. And when everything works, I can get 11 points from 14. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

I normally write novels in my logbook. I can see it fading with time, but atm, I need all the help I can get :) -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

I've got a 1997 Racer Elite. It had about 100 jumps on it when I got it, and I've put on another 80. I can't complain too much about it. You just have to watch the velcro on it. The velcro on my riser trough covers (the side of the the reserve tray) is nearly due for replacement. You have to be careful if you want to freefly. I don't, so I don't really have to worry, but if you do, then find a rigger or someone to ask about maintaining your gear properly. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

It took me about 13 jumps before I was comfortable in the plane, and climbing out and everything else associated with jumping. I have noticed that lately I have started to become more appehensive than I have been, maybe I'm getting my second wind... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

What did you feel like on your first solo?
masher replied to SDiver218's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah, me too. Now on my first not-solo, it was like "You can touch people! Cool." -- Arching is overrated - Marlies -
What do you do on the cse? It sounds mysteriously like our B-rel jumps. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Is the use of AAD mandetory in you country?
masher replied to deronde's topic in Safety and Training
In Oz, it's mandatory for tandems and students. Also required for A-C licences. And D if your don't have an RSL. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies -

NOTICE TO ALL THE "ROYSPLAYTHING" BADGERERS....
masher replied to RoysPlayThing's topic in The Bonfire
We have mammals that lay eggs, but no badgers. At least last time I checked we didn't... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies -
ok. I've seen them on a couple of other rigs, and I was wondering... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Quite nice :) I like the embroidery. Question: what's the purple tag thingo on your chest strap? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

There was a report in the last ASM of a jumper that cut away and then tried to deploy his reserve by pulling on a chest ring. I didn't work. Then he looked properly and dumped his reserve. I think that the cypres fired, but didn't cut the loop. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

QuoteWhy don't you get a waiver type document written up, then have the would -be purchaser and their 'technical advisor' both sign it in your presence, you sign as a witness?.Quote Considering the legal climate in the US, I'm suprised you guys didn't have one already... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Depends on what height the emergency happened at. I don't really know what emergencies would make you leave the plane or die, but not all of them happen at 3000'. Re opening shock, I agree with the shock at terminal, but you can hang on for subterminal deployments (Mr Bill?) Now, assuming you managed to get out and hang on, can you survive the landing? Now I have no idea what a canopies flight characteristics are going to be loaded at between 2-4. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Pulling tandem handles in wrong order
masher replied to ernokaikkonen's topic in Safety and Training
Does the Vector tandem incorporate a drouge release into the cutaway handle? I know the Racer tandem does... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies -
:12:1 10 jumps on Saturday. There was a h'n'p day at York. Quite good fun. Launched a few 3 ways and a 2 way from 4'. Then we went down the real h'n'ps from 2.5 and 3. Got all my accuracy done for my C. All I need is 3 4-ways to get my B so I can get my C. 2 jumps at Dale (first time there). 1 solo just to figure out where everything is. 1 4-way. I sunk out on them!!! They must have been going really slow. I couldn't get back up to them. Got to about 1 m away by break off... But today I'm sore all over. Sore shins, sore arms, sore neck.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

I don't know how they train, but you initial qualification will be as a static line jumper. Then, if you're promoted to CPL or above, you need to be free-fall qualified. How they do this, I have no idea. It could be like the APF static line table, but I have absolulely no idea. Not that I have much experience shooting, but wouldn't most distortion hapen to the round on impact with its target? If the round is distorted due to firing, then it's going to be pretty inaccurate... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Nothing wrong with that. I know a guy who had his Packer A (your senior rigger) rating when he had his A licence. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
