  1. from his post: Whohoo! jump # 16. So we have a newbie trying to freefly in student gear, through cloud, after 15 jumps.... mmm... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  2. Hey Deuce Will it play in all regions? How long does it go for? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  3. Do you have a reference for that? I've always thought that it refered to J, not M. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  4. Think of a hop and pop tandem, without a tandem harness, and the "passenger" wearing their own rig. Releasing a Mr Bill is when the "passenger" lets go, and deploys their own parachute. Landing a Mr Bill is when the passenger doesn't let go. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  5. wants to get done lots? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  6. But it's easy... Unhook bridle from PC, unhook bridle from canopy. Hook SL to dbag. It's a little more difficult going the other way. You either get lucky, and have the attachment point at the grommet hole in the dbag, or you have to unbag, attach bridle and rebag the canopy. Even _I_ can do it. (This isn't meant to be a sarcastic post, it is serious...) -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  7. I haven't voted in the poll, as I'm not an instructor (as requested) but I will mention something about my DZ. We take up first jump students for either SL or AFF. For SL, we use a direct bag. We can also use the same rig for free fall with a spring pilotchute and ripcord. Just unhook the SL from the dbag and attach the PC. Easy. Just make sure that you unhook the canopy from the bag when you go back to SL -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  8. Re the weird RSL, is that the one that is on both risers? and could potentially choke off the reserve in a two-out? I've heard about it, I don't know if it is the Racer RSL or not... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  9. Yes please. I would like to see some of the inside of the rig, if that's possible. Toggles, riser covers, pin flaps...... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  10. Hey Ariana Where did you do your tandems? Good luck with your jumping. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  11. I don't know if this suggestions is any good, but.... How about landing your first 10-30 jumps with PLRs? This is just a suggestion. On a canopy control cse we did, one of the instructors demoed PLRs. The landing he came in on was (of course) standupable, but he ended it in a roll. Could be useful, in addition to lots of ground training. Just my view from a non-instructor perspective. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  12. I'm from that place that races belt sanders
  13. I have to go with some previously mentioned sentiments. If the ultimatium is given, then that person isn't the one. Caveat: As from squeak, you're not hurting anyone, or doing anything illegal.... . My current relationship: She is a (sort of) whuffo. She's come to the DZ and hung out for a weekend. She's taken photos of me in the air, and landing. She's watched some (all) of the footage that I've taken (good and bad). She's watched a couple of the skydiving movies that I have. She's coming on a packing cse with cdts next month. She may be a whuffo by definition, but she knows that I like jumping. Heck, she's even told me to go jumping on a couple of occasions. I'm working my way up to getting her to do at least one jump, and she's ameanable to the suggestion (just a couple of things to sort out first though) I don't get it when people say that they don't date whuffos, or skydiving is everything. It's just a part of your life that a potential partner has to come to grips with. Just my 2c. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  14. Hey squeak, the numbers are humps:jumps:beer just for future reference....... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  15. You need them until your E licence; or D, if you have an RSL. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  16. I like my racer, but then again, it's my first and only rig. I don't know if I would buy a new Racer as I haven't seen the new ones, as Jumpshack's website isn't the best. I need to go to a few boogies and check out different rigs.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  17. ? Please expand. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  18. That's exactly what I think Chris. I don't care what religion (or anything else for that matter) you belong to/worship/follow. Just don't preach to me. We can talk about it, debate, but don't ram it down people's throat. That's a pretty good way to annoy people. I do try and repect people's beliefs, but ramming can stretch that.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  19. How about "none of the above"? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  20. Sorry to feed the trolls, but what about us skydivers that are also physicists??? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  21. Just got two 2 cannibals over, 1 back 2 cannibals over, 1 back 2 missonaries over, 1C and 1M back 2 missonaries over, 1C back 2 C over, 1C back 2 C over I think that's right. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

  23. Why don't you contact Wings and ask them? Shouldn't that sort of thing be in the manual? If it isn't, I'd be getting them to put something on for free... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  24. I use a WayCool 0.45x lens. It's probably not wide enough for you, but they also make a 0.33x, and soon a 0.25x. On the 0.45 and 0.33 I can't see much distortion of the image at all. They've got some demo pics on their website. Check them out. www.waycool.com.au -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  25. We flat pack our student rigs and tandems. Our CI flat packs his rig. I think that it is easier to learn to flat pack, then go on to pro packing. In a flat pack everything is on the ground and you can walk around and look at everything. You can pull bits out, and stop and ask questions. Propacking, you're sort of stuck in one spot. And you can't really stop halfway through... Just my 2c..... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
