  1. Damn straight. They need to add some pics and descriptions of what all their rig names are. That said, has anyone got pics of the riser covers ,and toggles and things like that? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  2. can someone put a scan of the pic up? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  3. Russ Thornton springs to mind as an Aussie BMI... I don't have his contact details, hence my asking here... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  4. I've paid for everything now! I'm so going to be there.... I've put my name down for a bunkroom, no idea if there are still any available. I'm going to email them next week about it. Does anyone know if there's going to be any BMIs there? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  5. Just booked my flights. I get to Brisbane on 15th of October and leave on the 2 November. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  6. I've got an original Sabre 150 loaded at 1.1. Similar wingloading, similar size. When I do front riser turns, and double fronts (at height), my canopy doesn't buck around at all, although it does get a bit hard to hold the front riser down after about 270degs... :) With my volumes of experience (pls note sarcasm) I would put this down to your brake lines. Do you know how much slack you have? Mine have got about 2" of travel before the tail starts to deflect. Anyway, PD don't recomend that you load above 1.0, so it shouldn't be that.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  7. I've flat packed my Sabre. It worked, but it was subterminal. I don't think I'd have any qualms about taking it to terminal, I'd just watch what I did to the nose. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  8. That's what I do. I've only had a couple of brisk openings, and those were when I thought to myself, "I really should repack this..." -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

    Weight gain

That sounds exactly like me! Just stick with it. For a little while I had to wear some weights so stay down, but now I can sink out on formations with the best of them. Trust me, I had the shock of my life when I did that for the first time.... When it all clicks for you, you'll find that you have a lot of range. I'm yet to explore all of it, but I'm going to have fun doing it..... :) -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  10. Considering that they're all RI, I'm not suprised
  11. We've just got some new Telesis'. They've got a velcroless RSL too. The part of the RSL that goes over the shoulder is stiffer than the rest of the RSL, and then ends of the stiff bits tuck into little pockets under the tuck tabs. Quite neat. Can't give you photos, 'cause the rigs are about 3 hours away.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  12. You can drive for 24 days and still be in Australia. In Australia, you can own a piece of land bigger than Texas.
  13. I got 8 and 64. Then I looked at the doc, and I was one iteration out. Now I get 16 and 256.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  14. Another thing you may want to look at is the B-rel table from the APF. http://www.apf.asn.au/apf_admin/downloads/blicman2000.pdf -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  15. Did you know that 17 is a prime number? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  16. Just an aside... What is the deal with military packers over there? In Oz, army riggers have to be volunteers for parachuting too.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  17. I can get there from uni. I don't know if it's current, but the first item on the page is: Don't know what my proxy settings are, but I'm at Curtin Uni -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  18. IMHO I would go digital. I a couple hundred jumps, I'm going to mount a stills camera. Cheap digital stills. THat way I don't have to worry about processing costs to see how crap I am at flying camera. Once I get good, I'll upgrade to an expensive digital. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  19. mmmmm v nice... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  20. hehe I designed my jumpsuit on the RMW site and then ordered it from Air Suits! -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

  22. The first landing was in the Sea of Tranquility. That's on the light side of the moon. In (partial) answer to Ron's question. Why can't we just take a picture of the landing site? It comes down to resolution. Being able to image such a small thing. When the landers took off from the surface, they left behind the actuall landing bit (name?). If you assume that this is about 10 m across, and that the Earth-Moon distance is 385000 km, then we are trying to look at something that subtends an angle at the Earth of ~1.5 x 10^-6 degrees. That is small. Assuming that you could image at the diffraction limit, through the atmosphere, you would need an optical telescope with a collecting diameter of 33 m to image the moon. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  23. I love that line!! It just got emailed to all the scientisty people on my email list! -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  24. I've got a .42x lens from Way Cool. I'm also thinking about getting their new .25x lens for when I'm in the formation. Should be good for some inside footage. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  25. I've heard that Spirir rel suits aren't all that good for rel. His freefly suits are good. Just reapeating what I've heard. On the other hand, I have a rel suit and freefly suit from Air Suits. Top notch. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
