You can get one from USPA - it's called the "SIM" heck - if you understand that document, you pretty much can answer any question on the exams ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

why do I not believe this at all? no advertising? no pensions? nothing? not even certain things "guaranteed" when the USPS is over budget? in a completely different tack.....what about the loss of private sector jobs since they are taking away business from other companies that would do the same thing? ... I don't see any reason for the USPS to be gov owned and run. Clearly there are several free market operations that can take over delivering unwanted advertising to my house. The gov should just sell it off to the highest bidder. ... Plane stalls next to paraplegic tandem pasanger
rehmwa replied to fred1986's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
I don't see why this is in the disabilities forum. the fact there was a tandem passenger is minor vs the stall and the lessons they tried to give in the (nicely done and thanks for sharing) vid. is it cross posted in incidents or training? ... Cops Confiscate Lady’s Arsenal; Motive Pending
rehmwa replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
this is totally different - you are talking about a personal confrontation where the suspect could be doing anything - that discussion requires review of the specifics this situation, if you feel you must compare it to murder, would be if a cop took a sniper rifle and randomly shot someone in cold blood - in that case, I'd absolutely want the shooter to be prosecuted just exactly as if his career was plumber, or banker, etc. ... Cops Confiscate Lady’s Arsenal; Motive Pending
rehmwa replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
What kind of sentiments would that be ?? really? personally, the only really good things my father and I did was shot guns together, went to gun shows, hunted, spent time in his gun shop loading ammo and repairing guns. when he passed away a few months ago, the ONLY thing I wanted was one of his older lever action Winchester collectors as a keepsake. forget any money, any other property, just the one thing for memory's sake If, like so many of SC participants wish in their secret hearts (and not so secret), a public official would break into my home (and everyone else's) and STEAL that gun, I'd go after them with every legal option in the book - they deserve jail time for a simple crime - not just correction. Theft is illegal. Cops don't get to commit theft anymore than you or I. ... I have a Winchester model 71 (.348 caliber) rifle. The cheapest I've found so far is $50/box (one box only found at the local place ($2.50/round). Typically on line, I find it at $70-80 a box..... I need to get a reloading setup - this gun won't be shot very much at all ... I think it's insensitive of the anti-gun people to use Gabby's situation to protest a simple raffle of something they don't like just to push their own agenda you can spin anything (I really think people are just a bit to ready to be over sensitive and need to get their own lives) ... there are pros and there are just guys that do tandems for the money the 2nd group seem, IMO, to just have the opinion that the jumps is for them and the passenger is just along on "their" ride pros also need to watch how they act on the ground too, BTW ... IMO - Mantis is a very effective and efficient way to fly. The more precise I am in maintaining the basic concepts the better I fly my body. I took a hell of a lot more than 70 jumps or 20 minutes of tunnel time to get there. Give it a few 100 jumps before deciding - you won't be disappointed. I had to unlearn 1000 jumps of boxman to get there and with an additional 3000 I find the mantis lessons help with every aspect of flying, including my freeflying. (Many also don't realize that the concept of mantis contains a pretty wide range of arm and leg positions and they are turned off by the false concept that it has to be 'exactly just so' rather than just working certain basics. there is not a lot of complexity in the idea of the following: 1 - a VERY defined center/low point on the body where the flow stagnation point stays put (whereas boxman has an 'area' of center where it dances around, mantis tries to define the 'point' to as small as can be) 2 - leveraging the legs/booties for power (better than boxman which uses shoulders and torso, ignoring the huge surface area of the legs/booties) 3 - freeing up the arms (also better than boxman) 4 - balanced moves at the extreme leverage points (high radius inputs - vs boxman which again uses shoulders and torques the center of mass) 5 - straight spine and minimal head switch movement to maintain the center points (again, boxman can be swirly as the spine contorts) 6 - the energy of controlled air movement gives stability like an airplane wing (boxman you gain stability from arm/leg drag - like a shuttlecock's feathers) I'm not sure what's less 'efficient' about this - even in skydiving, the laws of physics still apply. ... You can't just come here and state that you have a personal position on it that you follow and that everyone else gets to decide for themselves......!!!!!! sheeeeeeeeeeeshh this is Speaker's Corner - you HAVE to get outraged that anyone else might possibly feel different than you and then advocate taking away their choice for their own good didn't you read the memo ... Actually - I think this is a big to do about nothing. Pres recommends a date (albeit a press release is a stupid way to do it prior to getting everything confirmed) - congress checked their calendar and recommended an alternate date - they both agreed on the final date. no big deal I'm not sure what the point is about the headlines using the phrase "backing down" is all about. must be a slow news day....... the real question should be whether any of us expect him to announce a real 'plan' vs just more fail 'stimulus' vs just making a pretty and impotent speech - again ...vs just blaming something or someone else is a given - it will happen ... What an idiotic move. if it was unintentional - then he comes across as arrogant, idiotic, and self centered if it was on purpose to create some kind of conflict with congress - then he comes across as idiotic only no win here for whoever advised a last minute notice for this type of meeting ...
