We all make the rare mstake when it comes to relationships. When the past few partners turn out to be assholes, it's time to look inward and ask ourselves what unhealthy things we have inside ourselves that make us seek out unhealthy relationships. Attractive women? Hmmm, depends on the definition. Except for the well filled out tight jumpsuit that gets my attention, bodies don't impress me much. A good degree of physical health and hygiene combined with an intelligent and lively mind ...oh baby! If I see someone in a casual social setting (including the DZ) with an excellent (by current societal standards) body, fake tits, elaborate hair style, lots of makeup, immaculate nails ...they'll get a glance (or two) but that's it. Basically, we end up with the type of person we sought out. If there is something inside us that demands the abuse of co-dependent relationships, we will walk over 50 good people to get to the alcoholic, abusive character disorder that makes our hearts sing. Well, Ive worker every ER/ICU in south Florida over the past 20 something years, so I'm fairly well known and quite a few people Ive worked with over the years know I skydive. Other than that, I don't mention it much. Pretty much everyone that took a tandem considers themselves a skydiver, so when mentioned, it's no big deal. Pretty much had to show off the world record pics at work. Got a few oohs and ahhs, then everyone goes back to work. Michael

I've flown into ONT many times and LAX once. Once was enough. Tickets are about 20% cheaper at LAX and more flights to choose from (even excluding the ones that will having you drive in rush hour LA traffic) ...go to ONT. If you're renting a car, you'll probably make up the extra money you spent on the ONT ticket. In addition, going through ONT security is a fraction of the LAX hassle. Michael

I'm an RN and have no direct experience in radiology, but after working in hospitals for 25 years, I don't think you'll have much trouble finding a job but are you ready for shift work along with night and weekend call? I have only worked nights throughout my career (many reasons) so the shift work is my norm. I have always avoided any job that required 'on call' times. When my shifts are over, I want my time to be mine. Damn near every radiology job I've seen requires call time. If stunning job availability appeals to you, as an LPN or RN, you can hit virtually any city in the country in the morning, have a job before lunch. Nurses also make $10-25/hr more. On the down side, nurses deal with the ...messier side of health care ;). Good Luck, Michael

Which cell service provider gets the best coverage?

It's gonna depend on where you are. I had the same problem with ATT. Sucky reception at home and at work, pretty good everywhere else in south florida. TM is great all over Florida, Atlanta, CSS area in NC, Perris area and Gulfport, Miss. The only time TM let me down was last weekend in Richmond, IN. Signal was sucky everywhere and seemed to vary greatly with 20-30 foot changes in location. It was a pisser cause I was trying to arrange flights home to Florida with Delta with the understandable wait time for a service rep ...never could hold a signal long enough to stay in the que. In summary, if you primarily use your phone in your local area, talk to people in your area and ask them what their signals are like. Good luck. Michael -
I really have no call on the influence of 9/11 or economic issues. They may play a role, but I see it as the tail end of a trend. Skydiving was just such an 'in' thing to do for a bunch of years. It made you a more interesting person at work and parties. People would go "ooooo, that's incredible". Now the trendy 'skydivers' tell their story and over half the room comes up with, "Yeah, I'm a skydiver too". I think it's run it's course and people are on to looking for the next 'in' thing. Someone responded with a comment about missing the old days of skydiving. It's like being in any wonderful relationship. Rather than lament it's passing, I rejoyce that I was around to be part of it. YMMV, Michael

One of them involved me being in a clothing store, and I was having sex with a cute girl who had a penis in the coat aisle (the coats kind of hid us.) No, it wasn't a transvestite or a girl with a strap on. It was a woman with a penis! Have you no compassion for kittens???? Michael

DAMN! I didn't know we could jump the chopper. I thought it was just for sightseers. A pleasure meeting you and congrats on your extra value skydives. Michael

I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised. Being one of those older (just plain old, actually) jumpers, I admit to ...skepticism concerning abilities and knowledge of those who learned under the DisneyWorld format. Val, you did great! I've worked with a lot of beginners in CRW. You were one of two people (in about 25 years) who was able to tell me, point by point, what you would be doing on the dive. You did well. You pulled your own weight, you bought beer (and pepsi), you became a child of the corn in searching for your canopy ...and you did it all with enthusiastic smiles. As was mentioned, popping a center cell 'A' line does not mandate a chop. Given your wing loading under an unfamilar canopy that is not known for it good landing characteristics, I think you made a good choice. I regret we did not get to make a third jump. Now what am I gonna do with these C cell batteries??? CRW Skies, Michael Brought a couple of ears of corn home from our canopy hunt and am looking forward to cooking them up tonight. -
She bit me on my ankle ...so I cut her away.

Exellent! Well, I gave it a lot of thought and decided I had to do what was important in life. Just thought, find a local medical supply store. You should have lots of choices. Try them on and see what feels best. New shoes? CRW is pretty much casual dress.

Yeah, but little tiny bricks. Not those concrete block thingies Michael

Interesting. Do you think they will ammend the constitution ...or just abolish it all together? Michael

This is the question ... Whether tis nobler in mind to suffer the slings and arrows of Hurricane Frances or take arms against a sea of troubles and go to Richmond To go: To Jump No more; and by jump, to say we end the heart-ache, and the thousand natural shocks that Florida is heir to.

The Bush twins have made tandems. (Not to denigrate, just to clarify.) A skydive is a skydive is a skydive! ---------------- Yes, of course ...but the discussion referred to tandems, not skydives
