The bottom line: If the draft is activated, you go, or you're a criminal. If you are a Conscientious Objector(sp?), you'll still go, but as a combat medic. -

Well said, DD. My take? I advocate calling my friends stationed at Grand Forks AFB and F.E. Warren AFB. They're the ones living 50 feet underground. They've got the solution. It's launched by a little brass key. A little "Theromnuclear suppository" shoved up the arseholes of these individuals. It's time to drop the fucking gloves... Make Iraq and Afghanistan fucking glow. This might be slightly off topic, but what would the theologians here think of someone who likes the whole christian salvation idea, but cannot stand church services, or church people's hypocracy? I have always found church services a use of time better spent sleeping or skydiving. I like the idea of salvation, but there are too many fire-n-brimstone types who mourn their faith, casting God as someone who insists we live a spartan existance, becuase certain acts/thoughts are arbitrarily "bad"...Not coincidentially, all these "Bad" things are also fun things...so we're supposed to live an unpleasant life of self-denial for an afterlife that may or may not be?? Dunno...

If the draft was reactivated, I'd have serious reservations about the quality of individuals pressed into service against their wishes. The percentage of sh*tbags in your average flight would skyrocket. The costs would probably be higher taking care of sh**bags than it would to attract more quality volunteers. -
At the risk of having patchouli-scented email bombs sent my way, let me share a TRUE story for you: A Female MSgt (E-7), 16 years' service, top SNCO, just popped positive at XX AFB. She's now looking at a demotion to E-1, 90 days in the Navy Brig, and a Bad Conduct discharge, with forfeiture of all pay and pension. While others may call that penalty draconian, I say it's appropriate. It's ILLEGAL. If stoners can organize themselves and change the law, fine--do it!! Until then, you play, you pay.

I love those little stacks of green rectangles. They allow you to do so much and go so many places. However, they're not as important as friends, self-respect/esteem, being able to look ones' self in the mirror, and love. Money cannot buy happiness. However it can create an optimal environment in which happiness can be cultivated.

I'm sorry to have to leave my home DZ this coming July. ACDZ is by far the best DZ in Kansas. The people are friendly and always willing to teach/coach you: Willie and Phil for RW, Tracy, Troy, & Russel for Freefly. The location is perfect, nice and close to Metro Wichita. The Pilots are first rate; most are also CFIs. Safety is paramount. One of our pilots is also our mechanic--88X is the best maintainted jumpship in KS. There are no cliques here. Everyone is welcome, no matter their jump preference or views on anything. All are immediately part of the "family." The TV's on for the Football games, and we've got Papa John's on Speed dial. ACDZ is, in my humble opinion, the only smart choice when spending your precious skydive dollar. -Neil Poston C-33161
