Oh. not as bad as I thought. Thanks for the info. matt

I heard back in the fall that Joe E. from Frontier was planning on going. He was picking my brain about ski techniques as I was starting AFF. I'd love to go check it out. matt

IMO. Cool logo... I like the black backgrounds, but think that some of the photos need either a soft edge or a light border to pop them out a bit. In the Gallery that looks like one HHHHHHUGGGGGGGGGGEEEE landing area. I thought my DZ's LZ was pretty good sized, but not anymore.

I didn't and I don't think my parents did either. I passed where it happened when I came home, but didn't see it. Highway department must have picked it up quickly. I've heard of people taking them if they aren't too mangled, but not in my county. I think there is some rule about it. matt

I got a small doe while I was in college. Sad part is that I saw it on the side of the road. Slowed down considerably. Saw it standing there off the shoulder. Slowed some more and as I was about to pass it it jumped out in front of me. Somehow didn't break either headlight, but crinkled the hood, bumper and grille. Scarier was having a deer run out infront of me on my motorcycle at night. No contact there though. matt

Don't feel too bad. My brother called me to tell me that my parents (Dad driving his car) got a deer about a 1.5 miles from home. My brother drove out to follow them home and make sure they were ok. The deer didn't do so well. An Officer had to shoot it. After work I drove in the driveway to see the crinkled hood and missing parts. A note on the counter said they got a 10 point buck. And my dad doesn't even hunt.... matt

That sounds good... about $125 US after the conversion. But shipping is probably expensive. Couldn't you cut your D-box down a bit if it's in the picture? just my $.02 USD matt

Which SONY is good for a beginner ????
newshooter12 replied to harro's topic in Photography and Video
I guess I'm spoiled. I find the viewfinders on consumer cameras tiny and like to have a bigger screen to check things out. But I'd probably go with you and save the $$ if the only difference were the screen or something like bluetooth that I don't have any use for at present. matt -
I wonder if the neighbor will complain to the police on windy days or all the time????

Side note.... I couldn't believe that anyone would beat you to a camera post. But then I looked over my post and you beat me to it. matt -

all those cameras are similar body styles, I believe, so try to buy the camera with the most manual functions you can afford. for example it's a lot easier to focus quickly, and lock it in, if you can set it to manual then use a focus ring up front to set it. -
lets just hope he doesn't get excited.... could be like a rainshower...

"Underground" have a cooling off period at their place in the town my college is in. Its a good way for them to make sure people really want it rather then just spur of the momemt. matt

my first two tandems I didn't have any mention of it, but was carefull b/c I'm used to using climbing harnesses. A couple days after groundschool there wasn't a second AFF instructor for me to make a jump. So I made a Tandem for my birthday instead.

Sweet... Let's see if he does it or says, "uhhh... sorry I had something come up." I want to here the end/rest of this story. matt

Wow... That makes me think of my cousins (1-USAF & 1-USN) and all the guys/gals that I knew from ROTC in college. It's definitely a sobering perspective. matt

Wanted... semi-trashed Digital video cam
newshooter12 replied to cameramonkey's topic in Photography and Video
Have you thought of a DA converter? There are all types out there and then you could use it for input, or output, of just about any video format. DA-Max makes a good one. Just my $.02 You could even get a Dazzle, or equivilent, breakout box for probably less then a couple hundred and do the same thing. matt -
Once again... nice pics. You've got a good eye and sense of timing. Some people can't learn that. Others like you are born with it. Very cool. Keep up the good work. matt
-
Never seen that before, but it's cool. Makes me think of some of my good friends, too...
-
Good to hear it worked out ok for you. Glad he didn't get a chance to hose anyone.

oh... no worries. I was just scratching my head a bit and figured I'd try to figure it out... matt -
what do you render on and with??? matt

do yourself a huge favor and once you get it cut the cable down by taking out a part in the middle somewhere. Then buy the appropriate quick connectors from Radio Shack and reattach. You'll have two different lengths in the same cord if you buy two pairs of connectors. A camera flyer I know would rap all the excess cord around his video mount. It made me cringe... even before I knew how bad snag hazards where. matt
