  1. Bob, all you need to do is produce some facts! you can't even produce anything about yourself!you come on here (constantly) correcting what someone says while never proving a single thing you say! why did you bring up Bernie Haapala after being caught using David Haapala? Bernie's son! you refuse to answer any questions put forth to you because you can't! you claim and show on a map where Cooper landed and then turn around and say Janets story was true, you have Cooper on the ground way before Janet would have seen him! (see Bob's map) keep in mind Bob has everything wrong on his map, Amboy, in wrong location ,Lewis river is wrong, Merwin is wrong, everything in the wrong counties etc. then when something is said that proves you wrong you lash out like a child making yourself look worse! (comment about Matt's mother) was the worse one yet! and for some unknown reason you are allowed to continue??????? are you ready to talk to a States Attorney yet? or is Mr Squartino too scary for you to go public with about all of your truth? They are Nautical Miles rather than Kilometers." just noticed that, thanks was up late couldn't sleep and on pain killers for the stones, Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' 3. the list was basically an example of "out of control" the aft stair lite came on right around McChord AFB which was 19 KM out of Seattle, V23 runs right by it. this was 7 minutes into the flight. 7:40 they reached 7000' 14 KM out SEA 7:43 they were 19 Km out of SEA and began 30 degree flaps "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' 4. before it gets out of hand about the walkies, it's highly unlikely Cooper used these, why, because they would only be good on the ground and if this was planed out that good and where he was jumping he would of had it on the ground for access, if this was the case he would also have many other things there for his escape and then wouldn't need any help. I doubt he pulled one out while coming down, how much more equipment are we going to add to this guy? 5. Nope. Many 1 watt and even some 5 watt CB walkie talkies were available in 71. Ranges of several miles even without line of sight was routine. CB signals (27 MHz) seem to be propagate better in hilly areas than VHF or UHF signals of the same power. I had some 100 miliwatt (1/10th of a watt) CB walkie talkies in the 60s and could talk ten miles with a clear line of sight, e.g. one person on a mountain peak and the other in a distant valley with line of sight to the peak. Again, zero evidence that Cooper used radios. I just like the idea. 377 Hmmm might have to call you on this one 377, I remember ready on my box when I got my first walkie that it had a range of about a quarter mile, I remember them not working well unless you were high above everything, I found sites claiming up to 5 miles but in perfect conditions, if you live in the mountains I'm not sure about range, could and should be better with higher elevations but not over hills and trees. this was back in the early 70's I even had trouble talking to truckers, I would hold up a sign telling them to go to channel 14 that's the only channel I had. mine were not expensive units but they were 100 mills, in the late 70's I got a Radio Shack 5 channel 3 watt walkie and could barely reach my buddy a little over a quarter mile away until we got better antenna's, this was a clear line of site but inside looking out our windows to each others houses, our development was not built yet between us so we had a clear shot. conditions play a huge roll I'm sure you know and possibly my area (Florida) is much different than yours? but they sucked up in Ohio as well "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' Ah yes, the Dave amps, bringing it all back now, Henry and Drake are good amps as well, gotta mixture of memory and just getting out of the Hospital because the Kidney stone came back with vengeance this time, also forgot about the tractor named after me "It is surprising how aggressive people get, once they latch onto their suspect and say, 'Hey, he's our guy.' 7. Early model Yaesu FT 101s were even better. Had 11M as a stock band. Swan (Siltronix) made a model 1011 that was super easy to put on 11M as it had an 11M receive only feature that was easily opened up to enable trasmit. http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/6078 377 that's a good amp for sure, I never used one but heard a lot about them, I have 3 amps the sb-200 I have a Maverick 250 with ten tubes and my little Varmit 150 two tubes, any amp with tubes always has a better modulation than the new circuit board amps which give a tin can affect while talking. they call the power chips pills if i'm not mistaken. 8. You are slipping Geoger. The FCC isssues ham licenses, not the FAA, but you knew that being an Amateur Radio licensee yourself. Lately the FCC is spending a lot of effort appealing the reversal of their ridiculous $550,000.00 Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" fine levied against CBS. Don't they have anything better to do? How do they calculate the fine? Why not $500 or $30,000 or $11,234.99 ?How do you quantify perceived obscenity? I bet they have an entire staff of sociologists, accountants and statisticians devoted to that crucial task. I can't remember if he got a fine or not. now a days I think they could care less, I have a Royce 40 channel with a Heathkit sb-200 and a varmit 150 as a kicker and would bet the FCC wouldn't do anything even if someone complained. Remember the Tempo-I ? not ringing a bell? You could slide right into 11 mtrs with them from 10 meters - - they were a favorite of CBers and truckers around here. One guy west of here on a hilltop had a tower up with a four quad array and a 2000 watt linear. The FCC came into to town and took it all. He was a supervisor in Uiversity Maint. He moved his family out to the UI Oakdale Campus and set it all up again. The university shut him down there. Hmmm never heard that term, we used a VFO (Variable-frequency oscillator) and the one I had could go down to 10 meters, my amps had to be tuned to 11 to work just never heard of a tempo-I, my buddy could also tap into the PLL circuit chip and get tons of channels from a washington made CB. mine was very similar to this pic below I haven't turned mine on in years, I use to love shooting skip on Sundays, talked all over the country and down in the Islands South of Florida. 11. Yes if the walkie talkie operates on CB channels. CB walkie talkies are still made even today. So are larger CB sets designed for vehicle use. Marla described in great detail the pair of CB walkie talkies her uncle used. I have no doubt that she really handled them. It doesn't prove anything about Cooper though. CBs are still made Jo, but their popularity has hugely declined. 377 most walkie talkies back then didn't have much power and most claimed about a mile but this would be with perfect conditions and line of sight (nothing blocking signal) Cooper would have to be almost perfect with his landing for these to work! Marla claimed she had the walkie talkies but doesn't tell how she got them, remember her Father was at the car yelling at the boys for what they had done and Marla was jumping up and down saying we are rich, then started crying? how was she able to get in the car and take the walkie talkies before they took him to the VA hospital, not a regular hospital? 13. "Mac is a Hell of a drop kicker. Combat boots, you know. Invisible, too." Bob, many would like to believe you but I have checked your facts on many things and they don't add up, you can't even give a straight answer about your own past. you claim you have "perfect memory" but if you look back on the pages you have made many mistakes and even say so yourself. a person with this kind of information would go public, if in fact it was true then since the Government is involved nothing would happen to anyone, just the way you tell the story does not fit a Government operation in any way shape or form, other words it doesn't add up. Just like the reporter who wants to talk to you, he is not my friend, or Bernie Haapala Davids Father, he was not with the FAA, why did you even bring Bernie's name up? if you look at the map you made you have Cooper on the other side of the Columbia river several miles from where Janet says she seen him? it goes on and on the problems with your story, there was never a pipeline running along the river, your Induction/Exam makes no sense and this does have a lot to do with backing your statement! I know a friend who is real good friends with the states attorney's office here and can make the contacts needed. 14. Been there. Dropped me right to my knees in screaming pain. Felt like a drop kick from an AFL star. When I arrived at the hospital in a fetal position the Doctor refused to give me anything, saying I was just after drugs. Was that you? I spent a week in a different hospital 50 miles away drinking a quart of water an hour until I flushed out this tiny little pit the size of a ball point pen tip. It took 30 years for the pain to go away every time I urinated. It haunted me just like the Cooper case. Difference is, Cooper is a pain in the ass. THAT was a kick in the nuts! McShudder, you're just a kick! Drink more cranberry juice. Cut down on the milk. Don't assume to know what you think is obvious. Mac is a Hell of a drop kicker. Combat boots, you know. Time for the Dilaudid prescription...don't let them pawn off that codeine-based junk on you. thanks, but the pain is gone so I don't think I am going to pursue this unless it comes back, I'm the type that will weather it out before taking any action, this is where Knoss is right about me being a Southern hick, call it what ya want but I'm tough as nails and don't let much get in my way when sometimes I should but that's who I am! on a side note, I flew 15 tons of steel up on a roof last week for mechanical screens, Obama can kiss my ass because I did build it! and I made it.....and made it happen, not him not you but me! 18. you are funny Mr Fife, your wife knows nothing, the world knows nothing, just you and a dead guy! now thats funny. why would you wait to speak with Law Enforcement or a States Attorney's office? you tried to tell the FBI but this was way before you had the entire United States involved? you need to get the story out Bobby in order to be heard! you are back tracking just like your wife told me on the phone over a year ago. this means you have to go out to your 42 ' trailer and get your "papers" that mice might have gotten but most should still be ok you constantly correct everyone's post on here but struggle when it comes to your own? now, if you are truthful once again about talking to a State Attorney I can make that happen I know many people in high places and can get to the Minnesota Judicial departments needed, I need 100% from you Bob! are you ready? you constantly speak of truth till you can't type anymore so let's move forward with this! "I am not here to prove a case, accuse anyone of a crime, or libel anyone." Bob, without there knowledge of what you are stating about them is "Liable" if they were here it would be a different story. "Mac said to talk" so start talking on a real Public form Bob...not here on a parachute thread! Bob says: phony baloney crap you call evidence. Well Bob, when is it exactly that you will show your "evidence" you can't even get your own draft period straight! 19. " Pilot Peterson had passed his written exam for instruments, but had not been certified, although he did have some time on instruments. Attached is a portion of the CAB report, done as a GIF image." passing "instrumentation" does not mean he can fly by instruments alone, Peterson had 250 hours on that plane, how many were at night and instruments only? I also found that he had a hearing problem and did not like flying at night (known to panic) let alone by instruments only...now combine all of that with bad weather and your odds of a crash are pretty high IMHO. Jerry Dwyer was the owner of the plane and was the one who found the wreckage, he saw the plane going down from the tower but nobody believed him, the next day he tried re-creating the flight path and sure enough found the wreckage, If the plane could be seen 4 miles away (tail lights) I'm pretty sure Peterson could also see around the plane, this leaves pilot error or something going wrong with the plane in which they concluded that nothing was wrong with the plane and this again brings Peterson under fire. If turbulence did come into play the fact of Peterson being known to panic at night would of lost control of the plane and crashed IMO....if that happened. 20. This plainly states that the pilot did not have an instrument rating in the first place. Found this a little disturbing....Peterson (pilot) 21 years old was a pilot about 4 years, had a hearing problem and was known to panic on night flights!! how the hell this guy was flying was beyond me. Robert99 it's sad we lost three greats that evening which also could have been Waylon Jennings who lost the coin toss and took the bus that night... just added, I was mistaken Jennings was replaced by the big bopper because he had the flu and wanted to fly, Anderson and Valens coin tossed. Found this a little disturbing....Peterson (pilot) 21 years old was a pilot about 4 years, had a hearing problem and was known to panic on night flights!! are you kidding me! 21. It's not the paperback version of Gray's book that is causing people to fall silent here. Everyone who posts here regularly has probably either read the book, or knows the basic content of Skyjack. One of the reasons is because some folks here believe it is THEIR voices alone, THEIR opinions, are all that matters. Some have been studying the Cooper case for years, and think they know everything about it. And in some ways, they do. They can quote you the basic known facts without missing a beat. But if you ask them, "Well, who WAS D.B. Cooper?" they can't say because they don't know. Big club. I don't know, either. Others believe that a certain suspect is the ONLY suspect. And I think some people don't really want to know what happened, or who Cooper really was. This way, the legend lives on. Bigfoot is real, maybe we didn't REALLY go to the Moon, and the US government made a deal with the aliens after Roswell to keep the bodies, as long as the government looked the other way on the occasional abduction.
  22. Blevins, Your explanation of the reason(s) for the Holly plane crash won't fly. Using the numbers and other information you give, the pilot was relatively inexperienced in instrument flying. However, you need to demonstrate to an FAA examiner that you can fly on instruments before you get the rating. The pilot apparently had not received an appropriate weather briefing and may not have had adequate instrumentation in the aircraft. You do not state when his last flight under instrument flying conditions was made. But don't blame it on the artifical horizon which is, or was, a secondary instrument for instrument flying. The primary instrument for telling the pilot if he was in level flight or climbing or descending was the altimeter. The rate-of-climb instrument serves as a back-up to the altimeter in that respect. The altimeter and rate-of-climb indicator operate off the aircraft's static pressure port. The airspeed also uses the static pressure port as well as the pitot pressure port. These two pressure ports must be keep clear of ice, rain, and other obstructions in order to operate correctly. Therefore, the aircraft in question would need a pitot heater to be realistically considered equipped for instrument flying. If the static pressure port is not heated and there in no other installed alternate static port, then one of the pressure instruments, preferably the rate-of-climb indicator, can become an emergency static port by breaking the glass in the instrument. Presumably, the above information would have been part of the pilot's training for instrument flight. If there was anything wrong with the pressure ports or system, the pilot should have known it by the time he retracted the landing gear. He could have then made a simple visual circle of the airport and landed. In any event, even if it was not working properly, the artifical horizon was not responsible for this accident. The probable cause(s) all comes down to "pilot error" of one kind or another. Robert99 you are correct 99, the last time I checked this story with the FAA I believe pilot error was a factor as well as instrumentation, the pilot should have never taken off that evening. added....Probable Cause The Board determines that he probably cause of this accident was the pilot's unwise decision to embark on a flight which would necessitate flying solely by instruments when he was not properly certificated or qualified to do so. Contributing factors were serious deficiencies in the weather briefing, and the pilot's unfamiliarity with the instrument which determines the attitude of the aircraft. 23. It is a crime to lie to the FBI. Why would I risk that penalty without purpose? " I thought you among others agreed Marla was lying about her story? didn't she go to the FBI, why didn't they lock her up? your tactics are very similar to those used in Politics by carefully wording things or changing the story in order to divert, so I think it's time to bring you to the table Bob Remember! it's not my job to research your story as much as it is your problem proving it's true, your wife told me a entirely different story a year ago, she don't remember I'm sure and good luck finding that out but it sure was funny hearing what she said about your lifestyle change since your Father died, sad but she was right! Dave now owns an aircraft communications company" I looked him up and found that he did not own the company you said he had and found that he was a college buddy! March 28, 2012 you then said this about a "David Haapla (see pic) there is no mention of a "Bernie Haapala on this thread! you are trying to twist things again Bob because you are cornered! I found no Bernie Haapala with the FAA, there is a Bernie Haapala who was in his 90's who died not to long ago! Dave Haapala Father! knowing Dave Haapala explains a lot about what you think you know and what you have made it into by changing what he has probably told you in the past and you put your little twist on everything from what he told you just like what you do here after reading something! tell me where did you come up with the name Bernie Haapala, not from me? and once again you bring up something that I didn't ask you about in order to divert the questions asked of you! you can go back page after page and not see anything about a Bernie Haapala? so why did you bring this name up?
