  1. Can you clarify please? Are you saying there would not be 'too many guns' because it is a one room school? If a teacher choose to arm themselves in a one room school, how many guns do you think they would actually need? Or do you mean because it was an Amish school there would be to many guns. Either way I don't understand you choice of the words "too many guns" because as you point out this is a one room school. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  2. who do you refer to when you day "this kid" That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  3. Are you saying that you are competing in IDPA with the Loaded Operator? max weight for IDPA is 41 ounces and your weapon weighs 43. I think you would be ok with the partial rail like the newer ones have but you should not be allowed to use that weapon per the IDPA rules. I think I am correct? Mabey they have changed the rules. 4. Being a huge fan of the Springfield line and talking with and knowing others beside myself that own them, this is very uncommon for a Springflield weapon. I am not sure I understand why your Dad does not let Springfield make it right. They have awesome customer service. You dad had got one of the very few that Springfield that are picky. You can bet your ass they can fix it and make it feed like a champ. I have seen a couple of Kimbers with broken external extractors but when they work and extract, they work good. Springfield 1911 are well known to eat any kind of ammo. Get it fixed! That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  5. I think the Kimbers are very nice weapons despite several friends that have had problems with FTE with the external style extractor. For the money I don't think the Springfield Armory TRP line can be beat. While you can spend 2K for a Pro model, you can get into a TRP for just over a Grand. I have an Operator that shoots flawless and is very accurate. I have had one FTE on the last round using old colt mags that my Uncle has laying in his tool box. He had them marked with an X and tool me they needed a new spring/follower. Other than than one instance no stovepipes, FTF, or FTE. Plus a lifetime Warranty! Sure I would like an Ed Brown or custom 1911 of the like but for them money I am a Springfield or Kimber Fan That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 6. 460 in a Mercury? It must have been really hard to drive like an old lady with your foot tapping into that big block! Sounds like fun That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  7. I think your full of shit. You don't even remember if it was a Car, truck or SUV? I have two full size extended cab trucks both powered by V8's, and I can get 20 mph hwy if I keep it around 70. I have gotten as high as 22 in one and 23 in the other when it was new. City is around 17-18 mpg. I just ordered a new SuperCrew with a 6 1/2 foot box with the 300hp 5.4, and I plan to get 20 mpg at 70 mph with it. Just a few tricks to do in order to get that out of it though. Hell even the Chevy Suburban can get well over single digits in the city. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  8. I have had cats all my life although when these are gone I am done(hopefully). I was kidding. My luck they would not get killed and I would have to pay for surgery for the third time to put them back together. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 10. My village is funny about fences. They are very limiting in what you can do. Also my dog is inside with me when I am sleeping. Strangely enough a Coyote has been spotted several times recently in my neighborhood so this topic comes at an interesting time. I live on the main street coming through my subdivision and one has been spotted twice a fewhouses down. I don't sleep very soundly and have been keeping and eye out when I awake in the middle of the night. I live on a populated street so I would have to be carefull to get a clean shot and not chase him down the sidewalk though. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 11. You forgot D) Shoot the Coyotes. I am not about to keep my dog inside because of Coyotes. I will shoot any coyotes that I see on my property if they are endagering my dog. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  12. The amount of crimes commited in Dallas does not make me insafe visiting there unless the crimes are of a violent nature. How do you define "safe"? Do you feel less safe if there are a lot of women arrested for prostitution? Hell Chicago has a high murder rate and I feel perfectly safe down there. Although I do agree that it would be safer with more guns in the hands of the good guys. So all in all I will agree than more guns = less crime here in the states. I don't carry a gun myself but am all for you carrying one if you chose to. I would rather you did in fact. However the article is just plain stupid and should have no meaning on either side of the gun ownership debate. Thanks for wasting my time.
  13. "HEADLINE FBI says Dallas most dangerous large city in 2005" I am pretty sure the FBI did not say that. It means what? I understand the premise quite well and fully support ones right to carry. However I do not see how a city is DANGEROUS based on what could be petty crime for all we know. The article just claims "crime". Then Kallend wants more guns in Dallas. What if all the crime is Jaywalkers? They make no mention of violent crime in Dallas, but if that is the case then I agree with you that it could be better if more people were armed for their own saftey That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 14. WTF? What does this article have to do with guns? Mabey Dallas has a lot of jaywalkers or underage drinking. What a poorly written article That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  15. I don't understand your question. Is a gun carried by a responsible adult more dangerous in a College? That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  16. If your just looking for a 1 moa gun and are trying to keep costs down for glass why not just go with a RRA Varmint? They are guaranteed to shoot sub 1 moa(I believe they guarantee 3/4?) and some will do much better. You can pick one up for around $900. Throw on some good mounts and a Bushnell Elite 4200 scope and you are shooting without dropping a fortune. I don't own a high end scope and never have. I have owned many mid level scopes like the Leupold Vari-X III which is now a VXII. They have made some improvements to that scope which is now the VXIII. Nice scopes. For my money though in the $500 range I will take the Bushnell Elite 4200 all day long. They make a 3200 also which is cheaper and still a much nicer scope IMO than a Vari-X II. The Leupolds have a bit more eye relief which can be a factor shooting large magnum calibers but is not an issue on 5.56 or .223 That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 17. There is much more to this story. The shooter was 19 and had a lengthy criminal record. He was shooting at rival gang members who were on the porch of the house the girl was shot. This house that the poor girl was shot at allegedly was full of gang activity, or at least gang members quite often. The shooter had violated many state and local laws to purchase and possess the firearm. He unlawfully purchased it with out of state giving a fake address and ID. He of course had no FOID card which is required in IL. He possessed it in an area where that firearm was not allowed to begin with. Only the bad guys have firearms in this part of town. Numerious other violations I can not remember at the moment. This happpened a while ago. I feel sorry for the Girl but it is hard for me to be sorry for the mother. She put her child in harms way That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  18. Some ranges you are not allowed to keep it clean. In other words you can not pick up your brass. Once it hits the floor it becomes the property of the range. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

  23. Yes very true. It kind of drives me nuts actually. I can understand how foreigners could come to that conclusion listening to some of the Pro Gun arguements on here. While I am on their side(pro gun),it seems people take it overboard. It leaves people like me, who enjoy guns but don't really think about self defence, left out of many threads wishing the Pro gun Americans would quit leaving that impression. I don't pack heat and I don't have a loaded weapon in my home either. Not that I am against it at all though. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 24. I do disagree there. John as repeatedly used this explanation in his many threads on violence overseas. Many times. I'll give him that. His reasoning has been clear I have thought That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
