  1. I started laughing whe I read this!! Just 2 weeks ago I dropped my cell phone in the water. Ummm, the toilet...umm, at a bar! Yes, I was in the midst of relieving my bladder and yes, I fished it out. It obviously didn't turn on. Next day I put it in a 50 degree C (drying)oven at work and 4 hours later it was fine. Needless to say, however, I've since upgraded phones...the thought of putting my mouth near it was quite a deterrant. 2. So I sold my Xaos-21 108 and got a Xaos-27 93. I've got about 20 jumps on it and LOVE it! If you're interested in swooping further, and jump the camera (like I do), this is a great canopy for it...incredible openings, ridiculous swoops. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  3. . Same at my DZ...a Xaos-27 93 and a Velocity 90, both mine. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  4. I've seen many skydivers jumping helmets meant for skiing without any problems. Just get rid of the snag hazzards and you're set. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  5. Ummm, that link doesn't seem to work for me. --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  6. Hi Sam I have about 400 jumps on an X-21 108 (the one you saw on the classifieds a couple of weeks ago). This canopy rocks...great swoops, incredible float on rear risers (easily staying up with 170 sq ft canopies). I then got a chance to jump an X-27 93 and fell in lust with it (I've got about 20 jumps on it now). After I got Precision to give me the right slider for it, openings were as good as my X-21 108 (someone changed out the original slider for a smaller one because they thought the openings were too slow). I shoot video quite a bit, so I like the snively opeings...now it opens great, even when jumping a Bird-Man Skyflyer. I even dumped it in a track on Sunday and it was sweet. I got a great deal on it, so sold my 108. I'd recommend the Xaos line. I have not jumped the VX, so take my recommendation with a grain of salt. But from what I've read, heard, and researched, the Xaos line of canopies is more consistent and versatile when taking openings, riser pressure, and swoop distance into consideration. 7. Art, you were there for the special tandem during the Collegiate Boogie, right? Made Gary one happy Tandem Master. That would be a lot of sand in the butt if you don't time that landing on the beach right. Don't worry, Christina, I'll dust you off! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  8. What days are each of these individual events/seminars happening? I may not be able to make it for that last weekend. --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  9. There should be a law to even wear a bikini with a body as sexxy as yours, Christina! Well, then again, this bikini does approach not wearing one..giving some people at our DZ a reason to dig out the magical blue pills. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  10. Now that would be a very cool sight. Must've been a tricky set up with perfect timing...wouldn't want to be the one who f'd that one up. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  11. Hahaha....Ok, that made my morning! Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  12. I would love to see this video. There's a 200 jump wonder at my DZ that won't take the advice and stick with a 150 (he's between the Sabre2 and a Stilleto). Now, I'm not necessarily a Downsizing Nazi but I'm worried about this guy's canopy control. So he flew the DZO's Stilleto 135 and is in lust with it...even though the wiped out his 2nd landing on it. I'd love to show him "Air, ground, Air, Ground, Hospital." I just wish I would've had the my camera on when I did my version of Air, Ground, Air, Ground, Hospital on jump 627 (I just ended up with a bruised ego and a limp that lasted about a week, though). --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  13. I know of at least 2 AFF instructors who can't fly their bodies (at least when I see them performing regular jumps). And watching some of them exit with AFF students makes me cringe. And of course, they'll come up with every excuse as to why they f'd up, except that they f'd up. Quite amusing sometimes, actually, because you see when the excuses are about to start pouring in. I actually got a Level II AFF a couple weeks ago and he brough in his video from AFF Level I that he had done at Z-hills. DAMN!. The Main Side I comes out (of an Otter) completely FETAL!. This instructor then proceeds to SWIM and kick with his legs as they rotate away from line of flight. (Meanwhile, the student has a perfect arch). Only a matter of seconds before they're all back to earth. The Reserve side I let's go. Now the pair are spinning on their backs, with the I holding on with one hand. The student is still arched, but the Main I is butt low keeping him on his back. Reserve side I is orbiting the pair. I can just imagine the Cameraman's thoughts on this one (I'm an AFF-I and cameraflyer myself). Finally they flip over, first signal from Main side instructor is ARCH?!!?, not "Check Altitude." Student has just enough time to do a practice throw out, and wave-off/pull. This video definately needs to be put on the "Students at play" video they show all prospective AFF I's...and the Instructor should seriously reconsider his qualifications. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  14. LOL! Hey, don't feel bad, I had to repeat my 5 second delays 7 times and had the pilot chute go between my legs as I deployed on my back 3 times, with the PC wrapping around my leg once! Definately gave my instructors gray hairs. I never gave up though...and here I am now. --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  15. Same steering line issue happened to me on my first Camera jump. Not fun, went to unstow my brakes, one cleared, the other didn't. Almost didn't make it to the airport because it took me 'til 1500 ft to solve the problem. Good thing I deplyed at 3500' following my first attempt at filming a Tandem. One can avoid the situation by how you stow your brakes. I stowed my brakes a certain way when I jumped my Stilleto 135 and after the 3rd time decided to figure out a better way...hasn't happened since. I'd elaborate, but someone's waiting for me outside, honking their horn. Doh! Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  16. I had under 100 jumps when I jumped out of the plane with my chest strap undone. Situation: 2-way out of a C-182, compressed accordian exit where one is backflipping off the step while the other is fron flipping. I was the one front flipping (facing aft). During my flips I thought, "damn, this feels a lot looser than usual!" We break off and get face to earth, I look down to see (or not see) that I didn't have a chest strap!! So I immediately waved off, tracked away for a few seconds, grabbed my right mud flap with left hand and threw out my pilot chute. (Yeah, I could've flipped on my back and routed the strap and been great, but at a hundred jumps, that was the last thought to run through my mind) Needless to say that I NEVER get on the plane without my chest strap on, and I visually check everyone elses at least twice before exit (in my career, have caught at least 20 undone, or misrouted chest straps, folded over cut-away handles, misrouted/improperly placed PC's). It only takes one scare, and you'll be cured for life!! I can guarantee that you will save somebody's life one day by simply giving them a gear check. 17. I saw the same guy do this at Eloy during the Holiday Boogie. I even got it on video because I wanted to study his technique. It was one of the Airspeed guys and, sure enough, every landing was a 270 front riser hook, followed by a surf right on the beer line as he twisted himself in such a way that his canopy was flying one way, but he was facing 90 degrees or more to the left, until the end of his swoop where he would shut the canopy down completely without ever touching his toggles. Very impressive. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  18. I was thinking about getting one on my new wings, but then decided against it. Why? I fly a Skyflyer Bird-Man suit and at pull time, the wings routinely cover the hackey. It's interesting enough getting to the hackey, let alone something that would be a much profile. Cheers, --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  19. JGarcia

    I cut my nuts

Really? In that order? Sounds good to me...except mine are seriously trimmed. But the rest sounds good. BTW, did the bruising on your butt heal? Is it time for another bite?? --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  20. No personal experience here, but have of several people getting broken ribs from these kind of laterals as a result of hard openings. --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  21. I'm in exactly the same situation. I'm flying in the tunnel tonight and having Juliana bring her RAWA so I could check it out. Last week she said it would be about another month until the box for the PC-100 is ready. I'll let you know of any updates when I speak with her next. I currently fly a bat-rack with both stills and PC-100 top mounted (look closely at avatar). It's great for filming RW, Tandems, AFF. However, I want something with a lower profile for Bird-man flights and free-flying. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  22. . Oh, but that I am! But if you know just where and when to bite, you'll get much more back in return. Now, in LisaBaby's case I bit her because she was being a bad little girl.... mmm... --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  23. But it tasted sooo good! Are you sure, I thought I felt something moist on my lips. Oops, that could've been something else. At least you're missing chunks on both cheeks, I couldn't let you get away without giving you a matching set of buns. Maybe next time I'll lick instead of bite. OK? Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  24. I was just at the PIA and spoke to George Galloway and Beezy from Precision Aerodynamics and asked these same questions. I fly a Xaos-21 108 and wanted to know about the life of an HMA line set. One can, in fact, see the wear on an older line set. The outside of the lines start fraying. You've got to look close, but you can definately tell the difference between a good line set and one that's getting worn. --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
