  1. If you hold out, it'll be well worth the wait! When L&B release a product, you can be guaranteed that it's been put through the ringer with test jumps and is of the highest quality. If you've ever jumped any L&B product, you'd know what I'm talking about Yeah, they could release it now, and you'd get a great product. Instead, I know they're improving on the LCD display, the "Protektor" for water resistance, and better hand, wrist, and leg mounts for it. So when it is released, you'll end up with an excellent product, backed by the best customer service in the industry. (Do a forum search on L&B's customer service, and you'll see what I'm talking about). Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  2. I found a couple video frame grabs taken last weekend of yours truly that more or less show what Chris talking about, so you can have a visual reference. Notice that with good body position, you don't need your arms to your side/back to keep stable/head-up. In the shot that I'm pointing to my head, I was trying to tell they guy with the video to put his head back a bit more, and in the other to put his chest back/straight (because he was leaning forward) and stick it out a bit...tricks I learned in the wind tunnel with Martin Skrzypczak. Hope it helps, and good luck... Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  3. I do have a VISO, and it's great! The VISO will log all altitude and speed information for every second of your skydive, from exit to landing. I love seeing how fast I can get my Velo 90 to descend during my 270 turn for landing! It will log this information for the last several jumps (don't remember off the top of my head how many...10? 15?), but logs standard exit altitude/spped, opening altitude/spped, dive number, info for about 200 or so jumps. However, this data is not downloadable to any logbook software. The VISO is mainly an extremely accurate digital visual altimeter. If price is being considered, then check out the Pro-Track, as none of the new products for Larsen & Brusgaard are meant to specifically replace the Pro-Track. But if you're looking for detailed data/logbook functions that can be downloaded, AND a visual altimeter in a single unit, then you're not going to be able to beat the AltiTrack, as that is the intention behind it's design and function. I hope this answers your questions. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  4. As stated above in this thread, if you're looking to have the swoop alarms, then you should check out the Optima. The Optima is extremely accurate, and always in sync with my VISO. Even if you wanted to have a visual altimeter double as an audible with swoop alarms, you'd have an extremely hard time hearing an alarm that's on you wrist/hand if you were jumping high performance canopies. [disclaimer] And no, you don't have to jump a high performance canopy to enjoy the benefits of "swoop" alarms, or to swoop period [/disclaimer] Perfect Combo? Optima in the ear, VISO on your wrist/hand/leg. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  5. L-&-B are working on a wrist mount for the VISO. The VISOs that Angela and I are beta testing came with hand mounts (although I mounted mine to the legstrap of my rig). I fully agree with you that if you're looking for an audible with swoop alarms, the Optima rocks! Once the VISOs are released to the masses everyone will be agree they're well worth the wait. 6. Here's what I've done in the past that's worked great for me (I fly out of Orlando, FL or Tampa, FL): I call ahead to some of the hotels and find out if they have a shuttle to the airport, and if they tag cars that are staying in their hotels. Then, I simply drive to the hotel, go to the front desk and ask for a parking permit (if required) and ask for when the next complimentary shuttle to the airport is coming by. When I return from my trip, I simply hop on the shuttle back to the hotel...pickup my car...and save a ton of $$. I've never had a problem, but.... Disclaimer: do your research...and don't blame me if you get your car gets towed. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  7. Ummm...I think that should read beERholder. Good luck with your new "love"!! Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  8. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... but if you click on play video a 2nd time, it'll actually play the 5 min video. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  9. Depends how much it rains. There are several ditches...one in which Will had quite a spectacular swoop on at last year's Naughty Cupid Boogie. But no "official" swoop pond...yet. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  10. That's some good stuff, Macca. Any pics of the shredded S3S? Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!

  12. Hey... I fractured T6 and T7 1.5 years ago (on 4th of July) due to swooping accident. Spent the night at the hospital, and just standing up took some serious effort. Yeah, it sucked for the first several days, and that back brace is no fun. Then 2 weeks later, I got rear ended. Imagine the look of horror on the other driver's face when I stepped out of my car already wearing a back brace! LOL... didn't do much damage to me cuz I saw her coming in my rearview mirror...totaled my car though. Anyway, I agree with Chris about getting off the pain meds as quickly as possible. I think I was on them for 3 or 4 days after I got released from Hospital. They didn't agree with me very much...(finally resorted to Prune juice) ...LOL I was jumping again 4 weekends later, just hoping my level II AFF student wasn't going to take me for a ride. Most discomfort was gone 6 months later... and I could do twisting exercises at the gym with quite a bit of resistance about 9 to 12 months later. My back still tires more easily than before, but that's to be expected. Exercise definitely helps. So get your significant other to buy you those word magnets; you and your friends will have a load of fun arranging phrases on your new back brace! And don't worry about the making love part... you'll be getting it on in the bedroom in less than a week. Hope your recovery goes well... 13. Hahah...Agreed! Here are a few grabs from my video camera of the weekend's frolicking. Thanks for the great time everyone... Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!

  15. Oh yeah, it's a bit more dramatic than that! Watching Zeemax's Video will make you cringe and feel the pain from your computer screen . Glad you're OK, Macca! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  16. You're quite welcome. Congrats on getting your BMI rating. The video of your sudden stop by the barbed wire fence is priceless.... Thanks for sharing it. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  17. LOL... great question! Even better because it's your first post ever. Depends whether you're inside the rectum, or already squeezed out the sphincter. More info needed. But to keep the thread on topic... sounds like a great idea. However, I know I would be quite sick of packing by the end of this camp. It's a great deal for only $8 a jump, though...hmmm Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  18. Very well put, Tammie. See you soon... --Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  19. Hey Dave! If you'd like, I can PM you the history of the boogie (I jumped there for almost 10 years), and why the Falling Gators have opted to move the boogie to a drop zone where they can still call it the "Falling Gators Collegiate Boogie" and not the "Williston Tandem Boogie." A lot has happened there since the last boogie, and unfortunately, politics AND safety concerns have altered the course of both the drop zone (it's now for sale), and the UF skydiving club (moved to Skydive Palatka, with many, including me, jumping at Z-hillz as well). Never fear though, with the current members of the Falling Gators and the help of Art and his crew at Palatka, this year's boogie will likely be the biggest and best one yet. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  20. I showed up a couple years ago on a Sunday, with rig in tow... ...they were closed. Hope you have better luck than I did.
  21. Oooooh... you mean innovations like student gear that shouldn't be grounded? Yeah, and I like my planes with doors too. Maybe this year we'll get some flocking going on at the collegiate boogie . Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!

  23. Hey... I'm flying into O'Hare Friday morning at 8:46 a.m. Is there anyone out there that'll be coming by this area, or would be interested in splitting a rental car? Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
