  1. Seriously! When I first read about this I thought maybe I was the only one living under a rock or something. It sounds like a GREAT idea! I was just talking to someone this weekend about how I had to retrain myself to reach out and then up to reach past the guide ring to get to the top of my rear risers without losing tension on the toggle. Up until very recently, I grabbed my rear risers right at the guide ring, but can definitely feel more precise imputs by reaching higher. I think I'll be trying this configuration pretty soon. I'm jumping 24" risers, btw. cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  2. I'm not a world class swooper, but I do try to keep myself well informed. Furthermore, I LOVE to pick the brains of my fellow competitors at every swoop events I attend. However, this is the FIRST time I've heard of the "top rings"!! Is this Top Ring configuration something that's not very prevalent in the US Swoop Circuit? 3. It depends on what type of flying you'll be doing in the tunnel. If you're going to be belly flying, a bit of stretching will suffice , and eating the fatty food with lack of excercise, as the last poster suggested, will be fine.. However, if you plan on freeflying, you will definitely need to be more hydrated & stretched. Freeflying in the tunnel will wear you out considerably faster than belly flying. Time and time again I've seen people that can normally fly an hour straight on their belly, walk out in complete exhaustion after 10 mins, unable to finish their last 5 mins with freeflying and having to go to back fly or belly fly. What kind of flying will you be doing in the tunnel? That'll help narrow the answer down a bit. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  4. I know Fastrax is training at Skydive Palatka today and tomorrow (Thurs and Friday). I was gonna try to make it out there today, but work seems to be interfering. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to get away in the afternoon. I'm not 100% sure on this, but my guess is that they'll get there late Friday or early Saturday morning. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  5. I think you mean SE CPC #2... I'm planning on being there, but likely getting there on Saturday morning. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  6. Isaiah from PD also stows his RDS after removal between his back and rig and says he's never had a problem. I had a pleated cordura pouch sewn onto the front right thigh of my swoopy man-pris (they're Answer MX pants with the cuff cut off and hemmed to look like I know how to swoop. ) The opening is to the outside of leg, and lays flat when nothing's in it, but can easily fit full RDS because of the pleats. It was cheap... and didn't have to mess with any elastic or spandex. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  7. I also noticed that one of the canopies was labeled a Neos on the center cell tag/warning label. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  8. I live 35 mins away from Skydive DeLand, but choose to drive 1.5 hrs. to Skydive Palatka, Sebastian, or Z-Hillz for the same reason. --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  9. I think you may have missed that the new PD Optimums have a dramatically smaller pack volumes than any other reserve on the market today. This will allow you to upsize reserves very easily, while still fitting in your current rig sized for a much smaller reserve. I'll be upsizing my Smart 120 to the biggest that'll fit in my rig... thinking maybe the 143?! Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  10. I was also training with Ian yesterday when this happened, and happened to catch the distance run and the break on video. It's amazing how bizzarre it all happened, because he had shut down most of the fwd speed and did not come down hard at all. The heel and foot just happened to catch the ground as he was still moving forward. His body's momentum carried him fwd while his lower leg stayed anchored to the ground. I don't know of another pilot that takes such a methodical approach to swooping and training and it's just further evidence that this is something that can definitely happen to any of us out there. Ian, I'm definitely looking fwd to swooping with you again. Heal fast brother! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  11. Flying in the tunnel is MUCH harder on suits than regular freefall. Suits that can last 1000 jumps will fall apart in just a few hours of tunnel flying. That being said, I love my Ouragan Freefly suit (though it comes with a note that says flying it in the tunnel voids all warranties). Since I fly in the Orlando tunnel quite often, I had Angela at Freak N Suit make me a tunnel suit that I've put a couple hours on... tons of lift, and minimal drag! 12. Wait... but the fact that you bought some land and you haven't been to the DZ in a couple of weekends has to mean that you're opening up your own DZ! It's one thing when one or two people have their overactive imaginations get the best of them, it's quite another when they actively spread unsubstantiated rumors and try to involve everyone else at the DZ to join them in their warped view of your life. The unfortunate thing is that these few people are starting to interfere with a child's life. Dave, I've known you for all 11+ years of my skydiving life and I consider you to be not only a mentor, but a friend...I also definitely know what it's like to have DZ drama and gossip centered around you (just ask Chrissy! ). Most of us know better than to get sucked into the gossip game at the DZ. Unfortunately, DZ's can at times be like high schools serving beer at the end of the school day. Drama, popularity contests, bullies, & gossip queens. Sometimes we forget that SKYDIVING, and sharing that thrill and excitement with your friends, and students alike, is the common thread that brings us (well, most of us ) to the DZ. All this BS will soon pass. And at the end of it all, the few "self-righteous busy-bodies" will eventually run out of things to gossip about you, and move on to their next target. Hope to see you out there soon... well, unless you're busy leading a life outside of the DZ...or perhaps busy at that DZ you're starting up?! Hahaha! stretching

I used to never stretch before jumping and never really thought anything of it. However, when I started freeflying in the wind tunnel I realized the HUGE benefits of stretching. Now I always stretch before skydiving and flying in the tunnel and I've seen a noticeable improvement in my overall flying and range of movements. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  14. Jeiber! I know you're gonna want to be there! (You're not still having nightmares of your ass being fondled are you?) Hope to see you there... Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  15. Hi Megan... I graduated from UF and was also very heavily involved with UF's skydiving club, the Falling Gators. Skydive Palatka is a GREAT choice, and only 45 mins from UF. It is not only the club's home DZ, but it has an incredible vibe, friendly staff, great facilities, and aircraft support. I now live in Orlando, and forego about 3 DZ's that are closer to me to jump at Skydive Palatka. Feel free to PM me if you'd like more details. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  16. I know that's definitely gonna be HOT! Angela's also been practicing some moves on the silks... I can't wait to see her flexibility in action! Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  17. Hi Franco... I was merely addressing what you had written on your previous post: ...but then you wrote As far as the movement of the lens goes, I think you'd be doing more harm than good by having a bungie applying any sort of pressure on the lens, unless it's balanced by an equal pressure pushing upwards. That's just my opinion, though... other's may disagree. Otherwise, it's a clean looking set up! Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  18. My "play" camera helmet is also a Rawa, with a side mounted PC, and (occasionally) top mounted XT. I have 2 observations on your set up.... 1) I'm not too sure that you'd ever be shooting pictures with the video camera, and 2) I wouldn't want any downward pressure on my camera lens from the bungee strap. If you want a bungee strap on there, use it to further strap the body of the XT down, not the lens. Do a few searches on here for settings... I don't reccomend shooting the XT in the sports setting. I personally shoot Shutter Priority (1/400s), Manual Focus, 100 ISO. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!

  20. I LOVE my Ouragan Freefly Suit! $$ nor time were limiting factors on my freefly suit choice, but I definitely wanted a tunnel suit immediately. To this end, I just had a tunnel suit made for me by Freak N Suits (they're based out of Lake Wales). They were reccomended to me by Dan(Ager) at SVO. I have about 45 mins of freefly time with it and I'm LOVING it! They're different than the Ouragan suit, in that they line the inside of the suit's arms and legs with duck cloth & ZP, and the outer layer is like what other SVO suits are made of (not sure what the material is). The result is TONS of lift, without all the baggy-ness and fatigue associated with other suits I've flown in order to get enough lift at SVO. I was going to go with an Ouragan suit, until the Freak N Suits were recommended to me and I didn't want to wait around for months for a Tunnel Suit. Even with custom design, rush service (15 business days) and shipping, it came out to be UNDER $300 ($280, if I recall correctly). Customer service was very good, she worked with me to make sure I was 100% happy with what I got. PM me if you'd like their #. 21. ...but have you had a woman pleasure you with her breasts? At that point, breast size does matter and hands and mouth don't come into play. Well, at least not your hands and mouth. As far as size is concerned... I'm with the other poster that said that it largely depended on the woman's overall frame. Furthermore, I know I may be in the minority here, but I think BOTH real and "OEM" breast look and feel great! They feel and look different, but still great. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  22. Hey everyone, in case you didn't know, I'm a dealer for the Wings Harness/Container system that you all more than likely have jumped at one time or another, as they are the Container of choice for the Falling Gators (and myself ). I will be adding two 50% off Certificates for a custom-built Wings Harness/Container System to the list of goodies you can win in the raffle. I've been to ALL of the Falling Gator Collegiate Boogies (yeah, I've been jumping for a while)... and let me tell you my collection of memories and video from these boogies is extraordinary. Can't wait for this next one...they just get bigger and better every year. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  23. Hey Matt! The top plate is 19.5 cm wide, and about 25 cm long from front of the plate to the back. As far as the LCD screen, I have the tape on there in such a way that you cannot forget to put it on. First, I took the battery off, then I put the tape from the screen to the recessed area where the battery would be. I then put the battery back on. So the tape is there permanently (well, untill I replace it). I've been head down and on my back (in freefall )with it like that and had any problems. I was also thinking about getting the Cookie box... I'm sure it could be modified to fit the way Wes' box is set up, offereing a bit more protection. The good thing about the way it is now, is that it doen't have to be removed from the helmet to view the footage. It's just another toy to think about! I hope all is well...hopefully your helmet's not too far behind mine! Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  24. As of yet, I haven't had the need for a battery pack...fresh AA batteries have worked well for me with a very short recycle time (I use the re-chargeable Energizer kind). If I were to jump a battery pack I can tell you I wouldn't be mounting it on my helmet! If you search the forums, you'll find that those that do jump a battery pack end up with it somewhere inside their jumpsuit. Cheers! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
  25. I agree with you that the sticker price is higher than others, so I'd say that it'd be worth it depending on what you want to do. If you just want to slap the camera on top of the Bat-Rack, and it will never vary in it's position, then I'd look at bone head or cookie composites. However, if you get want to be able to move the camera around on the top plate depending on what you're shooting, then I'd go for it. Give Wes a call and let him know what you're wanting. Good luck! --Jairo Low Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
