  1. And if they do they can't drive it inside a building and kill 17 kids, or conceal it in a bag, or kill people from 300 yards away, or do a host of other things that a firearm is designed to do by it's inherent lethality and ease of use. But you know what you can't do with a gun? Use it to drive you to work or drive a nail into a board or fillet a fish, or trim your hair. In fact, and this shouldn't be news to anyone, the only thing a gun is designed to do is to propel a bullet fast enough to kill whatever it runs into. And nobody give me that BS about target shooting. Let's not play this game where we play intellectual jump rope because you can equate something else's use in killing people, that's dumber than dumb, that has nothing to do with the point of stopping this first thing from killing people. 2. We will never know, he is dead. How many people never show signs of mental illness until after they have killed a person or more, then they claim mental illness to stay out of prison. If he was still alive he might be one of those. 1% of gun deaths are related to mental illness, approximately 20% of mass shootings involve someone with a mental health issue which can include anything from xanax to ADHD medication, any range psychotropic drugs. many of which are prescribed to people with zero propensity to violence. It's not a one way street from mental instability to mass murder, that is a gigantic farce. Anyway, the information is out there and mental health is a bullshit smokescreen. 3. An individual that needs medical attention, but isn’t receiving treatment and ends up going postal with either a pressure cooker, firearm, van, or other instrument? Derek V People with mental health issues account for 20% of mass killings. It's not the common denominator but that's a worthy enough chunk to look at. However, still haven't seen an ACTUAL move from the NRA crowd because it serves its purpose as a a smoke screen to their goal of zero restrictions on firearm sales and possession. 4. If you can draw that conclusion, then you should also determine that vans are more dangerous than AR-15's. Derek V The van is mightier than the sword. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  5. Move along. Thoughts and prayers here. Nothing to see. Huge props to the customer who grabbed the gun though. To be fair, I've actually eaten in a Waffle House in Tennessee and it was pretty much the worst food I've had anywhere in the world. Maybe the gunman didn't like his still frozen hash browns and coffee with fingernails in it. It's quite clear the Waffle House shooter has mental issues. He was arrested last year for trespassing on the white house grounds where he wasn't supposed to be. FBI investigated his background and took his guns away, as they should have. Eventually, they gave the guns to his father, with the caveat that he's not to give them back to his son. Well, he did anyway. I'm surprised the dude is still at large, as far as I know. But I fully expect the victims and their families to sue the father for everything he's got. Fucking dumb ass. Father needs to do jail time. But really, gave them to his Dad and told him to promise to be good? WTF? Anyway, here we have an example where the FBI DID do their due diligence and it didn't matter. Seems to fly in the face of the distraction du jour about the Florida kid where the excuse is that it's not a problem with the country being saturated with assault rifles but with the FBI not doing their job. A foolish one. Part of a bigger problem - that we demand more morality from movie actors than we demand from our leaders. Trump considering pardon for boxing legend after call from Sylvester Stallone http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/384285-trump-considering-pardon-for-boxer-jack-johnson-after-call-from Seems like a proper thing to do. Indeed. Do it. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Clinton had the primaries won by the beginning of March. After Super Tuesday, her lead was insurmountable for all practical purposes, because the Democratic primaries were fair enough to not include any "winner take all" states. Everyone knew it but the Bernie and his Bras, and it had zero to do with stacking the deck in Clinton's favor. Sanders simply lacked sufficient support among Democratic primary voters to have any hope at winning the nomination. I'm saying that even way back at the beginning there was an spoken agreement that it was Hillary's year. I'm sure there's a D Senator or Governor who could've made a serious candidate. I think the only reason Bernie stayed is his pop fame with Democrats and because he wasn't Hillary. I still think she was one of the most capable candidates we've seen for a long time but the fact is that it's not good enough, you also have to win. I'm not a fan of that. They need to let the investigators do their work instead of turning this into a political hit job. I just find it hypocritical... Crying about alleged collusion, when there's solid evidence THEY themselves colluded against Bernie Sanders... It really was like Bernie was the only one who didn't get the memo that the deck was stacked for HRC. If the DNC let the nomination process play out as it was supposed to we may have seen a broader field on the D side. As it was, nobody wanted to butt heads with Hillary so they stayed home and for the love of God she lost to this clown. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Here's a thread you started in 2013 with a link to Alex Jones's Infowars site. When someone said they didn't read anything from Infowars you said "Your loss". Here is a thread from 2014 you started with an Infowars link, where someone tells you that Infowars is a conspiracy theory site led by Alex Jones. Here's one from 2015 where you post another Infowars link and several people respond to you, and you to them, with Alex Jones' name. And here is another thread from exactly a year ago where you start pretending not to know who Alex Jones is, despite having swallowed his nonsense hook, line and sinker on numerous occasions. Why the lies, Rush? Why all of the stupid, obvious, easily proven lies? That's so Deep State of you to bring facts to the table. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  11. You don't see how the President of the United States publicly making disparaging comments about someone could be damaging to that person? Comments from the pulpit of a position described as the most powerful position on earth, don't have any impact? Interesting. "The plaintiff needs to prove the false statements caused damage." I think in this case the plaintiff is interested in proving much more important things. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  16. My concern is that over the past several years, at least half a dozen drivers who tried to kill me when I was cycling/motorcycling, have gotten traffic tickets when I filed complaints, complete with video of their actions. One of those idiots actually tried to convince the cop that I had faked the video. I fear the era of video evidence will come to an end. I don't think so but it will definitely make things more difficult. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  18. He should not because there's no need to. It'll be more productive for Comey to stay out of a bitch fest and testify as needed. If he were to enter legal entanglements with Trump his status as a witness would be compromised. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  21. I think that's just the difference between WP and Fox, as in that they're not in the same ballpark as each other, WP actually wants to be credible source of information. Hannity is an opinion piece and everyone knows it. I see him milking this just because of the notoriety of being a Right Wing mouthpiece amidst a Presidential investigation. It makes him some kind of dark hat Woodward and Bernstein. Hell, even G Gordon Liddy made a career out of being a Republican bad boy. He's going to sit atop this pile of shit and crow for a very very long time. Believe me, he and Fox have already sat down and mapped out how they're going to handle this because as long as he's in the news it's $$$'s. I'm sure his viewership had a HUGE spike last night. 23. I agree. This ACTUALLY DID violate confidentiality. Naming him has repercussions that the court should know about very well. I was listening to some of Comey's* interview this morning and one of the aspects he spoke about was that there were real world repercussions for what he did and didn't speak about publicly, the case for collusion was not made public from him because first they didn't know what they had and second it was different from the email issue because that was a part of the national conversation and relevant to the election. He therefore DID discuss the findings on Weiner's lapton because to take no action or not divulge what they had would actually be the action of suppressing the information and covering it up. Edited: Wrote Mueller when I meant Comey, those crusty white Republicans all look alike. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  24. If uncaused causes are possible you've eliminated the need for god to be a cause, and demolished your own 'evidence'. God is the uncaused cause (singular). He is even the reason for your ability to reason against him. Still waiting on that "preponderance of evidence." Still waiting on one shred of evidence. People making deductive conclusions based on conjecture and reasoning that has been proven wrong over and over doesn't count. People using Bronze age myths, legends and folk tales, even when they convene formal "confessions" to attempt to explain inconsistencies doesn't count. Real. Tangible. Testable. Evidence. Lol. I don't think I've ever seen a more concise circular argument than: "God is the uncaused cause (singular). He is even the reason for your ability to reason against him." 25. Oh, okay, what's the big deal? I suppose you've never heard the expression "Conflict of interest". Fox should fire him for violating journalistic ethics (yes, I realize that's funny when applied to Fox "News"). Hannity has no obligation in regards to this, he's a news opinion broadcaster not a politician and we all know he's not the only person at Fox in bed with right wing interests. Edit: I doubt there's any story here except for Hannity to pump it up a bit, dangle a few things and then over the next decade use it as his centerpiece on how the left is corrupting the legal system into political attacks against law abiding Republicans such as himself. Do not feed the Troll. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
