  1. There is something so satisfying about a lion fish killing you-tube video. Especially where the divers fill those zoo-keepers. Until where 40-50 used to be, none can be found. Ha, I watch those. I'd like to go do that sometime and finish the day with a stack of lion fish meat, an open grill, salt pepper, butter, lemon. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  2. That fits with my understanding of my experiences. So said the bee as he tended his Queen. Your very words describe a frightening obliviousness to the world around you. Clearly, in the Ron-centric universe, there is no room for the views of others lest they meld perfectly with your own; your mind is closed for business as you seek this state of "everpresentness and timelessness". What do you hope to achieve next? Omniscience? I get the mental image of someone with their fingers in their ears going "lalalalllalalaallala" so they can't hear anyone. Russian efforts were always out there to try in hurt the candidate they thought was going to win. At that time it was Hillary. One week after Trump was elected Russia was reportedly the one sponsoring the protests against him. It's funny to watch you. You believe what you want to believe and it's the funniest things I've ever seen The efforts they made was always to sew divisiveness in the US Political world. Trump elected over Hillary was just a happy outcome because he's such an idiot. I think we'd have the same divisiveness if HRC were elected. Well, now we know why she was mad: https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/gykg7j/we-finally-know-why-the-angry-tim-hortons-pooper-pooped I'll wager she's a well known local who is always in there trying to shoot up in their bathroom and begs money from the customers. 5. Are you fucking joking? That's another thing you "couldn't make it up" right? You do need to decide if you want to be taken seriously, or you just want to be a blind partisan hack. Things like this are good examples of the recent confusion over Trolling. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  6. And don't forget that the Trump appointed AG, Jess Sessions, has said there there is insufficient basis to launch an investigation into anything regarding Hillary Clinton. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/jeff-sessions-hillary-clinton-investigation-not-enough-evidence-fbi-latest-a8055296.html "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

of course, because only a Republican appointed judge could possibly be fair and balanced. Oh wait! See above, republicans these days don't trust republican appointed officials as far as they can throw them. Well, I guess there's nothing else to do but dissolve the entire federal justice system. And so many of those that you talk about hate Trump. You need to get media sources are more varied then you look at today. Comey (R) hates Trump Rosenstein (R) hates Trump Sessions (R) hates Trump Mueller (R) hates Trump McCabe (R) hates Trump Wray (R) hates Trump It all makes sense in Marc's Looking Glass World Their actions mean more than any letter behind their name! So your position is that Washington D.C politicians have managed to organize a bipartisan conspiracy against a sitting president? http://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/387625-mueller-may-have-a-conflict-and-it-leads-directly-to-a-russian-oligarch Things keep surfacing... Mmmm, you know that when we cultivate foreign assets much of the time those assets are actual members of that foreign body, right? That's a bit of a stretch to say it's a conflict that Mueller acting in his professional capacity at the FBI tried to put together a mission with a Russian. 14. I'm kind of holding my breath about Australia. In every gun control debate the fact of Australia never having mass shooting incidents comes up. It seems a lot like painting a target on the country. Every country has bitter twisted people and you can see the thought balloon over their heads thinking "hey, if I shoot up a school in Perth that would really make world wide news." Australia had been having a improved crime rate and improved gun-crime rate so I don't think it's a good example to look at for those items. I think this points a finger towards overall gun deaths being a factor of access to guns but even more so a factor of how well the country deals with crime. It definitely IS something to say that their rate of mass shootings is vastly less than ours and they have not had an indiscriminate mass shooting since 1966. 15. I figured that's what you meant but couldn't help myself. I'm not so sure that the outcome of the embassy move was very good. So far several dozen people have been killed in protests and let's just say that the choice for leading the opening prayer was interesting. The point has never been whether we want the embassy in Jerusalem but how do we do it with stirring the shit pot, it's basic diplomacy. This is exactly why those previous Presidents held off and dismissing those concerns isn't exactly admirable. Besides we all know that Trump knows jack shit in regards to our embassies, this was just another issue he pulled out of a hat and it got good reactions with his crowds. 16. Australia finally had a second mass shooting in the 22 years since enforcing gun restrictions. In the same time period there was no one to one replacement of mass knife attacks, car attacks, etc. equating to a per capita rate of US mass shootings. The fact is that restricting gun access without banning guns has made it difficult enough to commit these acts that the numbers dropped. https://www.yahoo.com/news/grandfather-suspect-australia-mass-shooting-official-063951577.html "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  18. Except that strategy doesn't seem to be working. Doubling down on an ineffective strategy isn't wise. He's just paraphrasing Patton: "No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making some other poor dumb bastard die for his country." "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  19. Ever read a book on WW1 tactics? However expendable the Japanese command thought their soldiers were in WW2, every single nation involved in WW1 did it worse and that was only 30 years earlier. Just like if a current administration planned a military campaign with projected loss rates similar to anything the allies did in WW2, there would be uproar, outrage and quite probably widespread mutiny. Yeah, they were barely more advanced than Napoleonic tactics which were barely evolved from the use of sword and shield. Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die. The swamp

Prior to my retirement I never allowed a female student or staff member in my office unless the door was wide open. While the probability of a false accusation may be very low, the damage it can cause is extreme. I was very very lucky. I've never had children so I have a habit of adopting them, so to speak. I'd become more than friends with many of my student workers and those who used the labs. I didn't try anything with them, for one thing I assumed they had better taste than that, and I always thought of them as children as a safety device. But over the years I'd gone and done a lot with several of them including one young woman who I can honestly say is one of the most beautiful women in the world accompanying me to Joe's (the director) house in the country to feed and play with his dog when he was out of town. I never tried anything with them but to say I'd left myself vulnerable is a gross understatement. The problem with that statement is that only if you did try something without their consent, the victims would hear a lot of people saying, "well, why did you put yourself in that position, so he could have taken advantage of you?" It's victim blaming. You can't assume any one of those students would lie like that, any more than they could assume you would abuse the situation. Neither of you had given the other any reason to think that way -- you would just have been prejudiced (pre-judging based on no empirical evidence). I don't think you left yourself any more vulnerable than a person walking through a public parking lot who gets mugged as they come out of the store. Sorry for the tangent -- back to The Swamp. The fact of the matter is that people can be very immature in their thinking and sometimes perception is reality. I don't think this is an issue in the professional world but it's very understandable in high schools and colleges/academics. A close friend of mine left her job as a high school teacher because she did speak with students one on one in her office and some girls started a rumor. The rumor turned into a full investigation and the first she heard of it was when she was brought into the main office with the regional superintendent, principal, several lawyers and the resource officer. At the end of this meeting in which they made it very obvious that they were not interested in hearing what she had to say she walked out and told them they needed to find a new teacher to finish the school year. One career down the drain. In the professional world you are free of that academic environment, schools are so afraid of doing wrong that often they don't do what's right. In an office or business if rumors were to start about someone and their subordinate it's either considered water cooler bullshit or if it got out of hand then there are real implications to someone for spreading false rumors. Yes, there's always the risk of someone lying that they were the subject of an inappropriate action but companies have a wide range of paths to take and the exception should not dictate the norm by which professionals interact. 22. I'm not worried about Iran. It's still a third world country with a third world military. Pretty sure Israel has them covered. The only thing Israel is capable of doing is keeping their enemies as their enemies and consequently ours. They will never advance outside of their borders in open war and they will never topple a regional government and be able to help support the work to instill a more peaceful government. They've made very little diplomatic progress on their own except now to convince the US executive branch that we should abandon our agreement with Iran. So the last lawyer is the subject of investigation. His lead replacement is fired from his law firm. Anything that touches trump is corrupted. Then Pence, Rushmc, Fox, et al, are all calling for the republican led investigations to end. There are still honest republicans who stand up for the USA. They didn't fire him. I doubt they wanted Trump's flavor of attention towards the law firm and wanted to ensure there was no appearance of their resources going into the case but that's very different from terminating his employment for cause. 24. I’ve still not seen anything of the Democrats that makes me believe this. Instead of capitalizing on the current train wreck all I’ve seen of the Dems is ‘look at this scandal!’ and nothing of why people should vote for them or what they’ve learnt from the last election. I’m sure it’s very satisfying to be the obstructionist party for a change, but relying on the Republicans losing seats rather than Democrats WINNING them is a poor strategy. Assumptions like that are how we’ve ended up with this Administration in a he first place. Exactly. This could very well be repeat of the Presidential election where Democrats are so sure of themselves that they don't how many votes they're missing until it's too late.
