  1. And if a Hindi family moved in down the street I'm sure you'd invite them over for ice cream. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  2. What denomination are you? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  3. Hook line and sinker. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  4. Yes, the bogus "they tried to purchase" charge! Want to make a bet? All charges will dropped! Thought you'd just be happy that regardless of an entirely fabricated video and accusation towards planned parenthood that this entire thing resulted in political pressure on the group. 5. Nope, emphasis on run. Edit: Not sure why I'm spending time on this but the coversation is. Dress appropriate for the weather and wear sneakers. You'll be provided with a jumpsuit to wear over your clothing but dress as if you're going for a run in the woods. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  6. I'm sure you understand that your run-out may not be on a golf course putting green. I tell tandems to show up wearing what they'd wear for a run through the woods. It gets rid of confusion pretty easily. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  7. What kind of church do you go to? I grew up as a Christian, going to mostly non-denominational churches, studied the bible thoroughly. I have not heard many of the things you talk about in this thread and in others. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  8. Anything that one would wear going for a run on a rocky trail is the max you should wear. Anything more restrictive and you're again limiting your ability to correctly land and max risk injuring something else. If you can't go for a run on a rocky trail you should think twice about skydiving. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  9. I didn't know you had renounced the Bible. Yoink stated that Leviticus says Christians should stone adulterers. Levites are Jews - there where no Christians around at that time and therefore replacing "Christians" with "Jews" makes it a more accurate statement - it speaks nothing of my commitment to Scripture. The split of Christianity from Judaism is something we invented, not Christ. Do you really think that God put his son on Earth to dis-include Jews from his overall plan or to relinquish responsibility to the Old Testament by those who came after? It seems that what you're trying to do is create a method by which you don't have to listen to the Old Testament, or at least cherry pick from it. 10. My guess is that the original text was to encourage people who have had sex to light up a doobie. Some asshole changed the "stoned" part around and we're stuck with this bullshit. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  11. FUCK - One extreme to the other. . . . There is not a LGBT group in Phoenix officially supporting Drumpf or speaking officially on any LGBT group's behalf that is supporting Trump. That is a Twitter handle created over the weekend by an unknown person. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  12. Because Ron now has a difficult task ahead of him. he has to decide which group he hates more, Muslims or gays. They are both just groups of sinners. The Holy Spirit can and seeks to call them all. However, sense 28 May, I've added semi drivers to my list of dangerous people since one tried to kill my wife and I. Therefore, I will approach them with extreme prejudice and caution until they prove themselves safe to me. Ron, something tells me that at God's dinner in heaven you're not going to sit very close to the Lord's chair. Maybe they'll have a "kid's" table for those like you. Or you may come to find that you've entirely missed the point of God's word and find that you don't even make it through the gates. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  13. Good that you have a positive attitude towards this. After that long of a layoff and in reference to the process of becoming recurrent that others have listed it would benefit you to sit through an FJC and cover again all of the items on the A-Licence Proficiency Card. The AFF/Student progression is designed to get you to a point where you can learn on your own. Having not achieved this two years ago you can enter the world of solo and group jumping with some serious gaps. The DZ just needs to see that you're taking it upon yourself to get up to speed, not get the A-license with the bare minimum of effort. Sounds like you're on track. 14. The judge needed to realize that there is also a court of public opinion in a case like this and handing down a stiff verdict would actually be of benefit to the rapist. The sentence can always be reduced at a later date. I've always had mixed feelings on the lifelong sex offender registration issue. Sexual assault is a terrible crime but the registration does not provide for a concise term for the punishment of that crime. It's a sort of scarlet letter that leaves the individual in a protracted punishment from the public at large. As a 20-year-old you could kill a 17-year-old and serve a quantity of time in prison. A 20-year-old who had consensual sex with a 17-year-old has not limit to the term on their punishment. I'm leaving out any reference to a rape or sexual assault in bringing this up just exemplifying that the sex offender brand is cast far and wide. 15. I saw the infographic come across my FB feed and thought that was the dumbest interpretation of either of the issues that anyone could make. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  16. I googled inflateable Jesus and found this: http://dontpaniconline.com/media/magazine/body/2014-06-24/images/jesus-on-an-inflatable-thing.gif "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  17. Or make corpses like the 24,634,205 people on this list: https://thechurchoftruth.org/god-committed-unspeakable-heinous-crimes-against-humanity/ "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  18. Sorry to say but a groundschool refresher and 1 check jump is incredibly lax. You should have more respect for what it takes to safely skydive. 35 jumps two years ago without finishing your A-license (if I understand you) is borderline useless for resuming jumping. You should see three DZ's telling you the same thing as a giant flapping red flag in your face. I almost wonder if this post is a joke and you're trying to get some idiot to stop shopping around for the answer he/she wants. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  20. Amen, brother. I stress learning to properly PLF because we don't know who will have a shitty landing until they have one. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  21. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! There are reasons for sliding in but they don't pertain to AFF students. A sliding landing done wrong puts 100% of the impact directly into your spine. I know people who still can't sit without pain because they followed this advice and broke their coxis bone. Another has a torn shoulder because the next thing to hit in the inevitable tumble was her shoulder. AFF students need to learn how to PLF and learn how to properly land a canopy. There is no other answer to this question regardless of the 1 in a 100 scenario you could give. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  22. Since I saw this thread start it's been fun to check in just to see how far towards nowhere the discussion would go. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  23. And so it begins... "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  24. ***"Signing up," is I think, a rather glib term in both the term and context of a declaration of war and not a term I would use given the gravity, implications, and ugliness of the matter.[/quote I think you guys are trying too hard on this "signed up" thing. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  25. Another issue of war politics related to this is that Americans were starting to become weary of War by this point and we didn't really care about the Asian region. It would take quite a while to plan an invasion and if a treaty was on the table the American public would never support further loss of life and the US would have to accommodate Japanese terms.
