    2001. No mods needed. Everything stays in place. It's a D1 with a 135 main and a 150 reserve. It's a really nice system regardless the apparence! Oh I forgot, to be super safe when packing the reserve it's better to close the bottom flap 3rd insted of 1st, that's all! Memento Audere Semper 903

    Dude, nowadays they are all the same when it comes to protection. I jump a dolphin and I took the sucker in any position imaginable. Yes, a dolphin! So it all comes down to looks and feel. My next one is going to be a Wings because the price is right, they are good looking, and the container will perfectly fit my canopies. I personally like the Javelin, Wings, and Vodoo. Don't care for the looks of the G3/4, infinity, and vectors. I like to see the roundy reserve cover. Memento Audere Semper 903

    I have one always will. It's nice to have one and being able to dissconnect it if you want. If it's not there, then you don't have a choice. Don't use it if you are doing CRW. The way I see it there are more pros than cons about using it. Always keep in mind to react to emergency procedure like you don't have one, i.e. pull both handles not just the pillow!     We, for the most part, can give you advice only on the type of canopy not the wingloading. All those canopies, except for the Diablo, are good calls. Get the Hornet! I jump one and it's a helluva canopy regardless the fact that is cheeper than the competition. As for the size ask your instructors. Every person is different. Every person develops cc skills differently. I know jumpers that could go 1.4 with less than 200 jumps due to their skills, maturity, and understanding. Others should stay with 1.1 despite 500+ jumps. Memento Audere Semper 903

    Ditto. With the hemoglobin completely saturated with O2 you have about 4 minutes before any symptoms of hypoxia occur. So when you jump from 24k you only starve for about a minute. I did the 24K @ Rantoul and the only differences I could tell were the air a bit cooler and the length of the freefall! When in the Army I did a 36K but we jumped with O2. Memento Audere Semper 903

    It might spin but under a Falcon 245 loaded .8 I bet you can kick all the lines out unlike a Velocity loaded 2.5! There has to be some sort of loading threshold. All the times I heard of a spinning mal due to line twist that reqired cutting away the canopies were loaded quite heavily. Memento Audere Semper 903

    That's interesting. Does anybody know the load threshold for a line twist to become a spinning mal in fully elliptical canopies? I am asking because on my Hornet loaded 1.2 I had line twists and the canopy flew straight all the times. I also heard of people having line twists with ellipticals and that still flew straight.     Here we go gain! Chances are you will never need a Cypress in your skydiving career. If you do though chances are you will never know if you had one or not because you'll be dead. If you think 1000 bucks plus the hassles of batteries and the 4 year inspection are worth the slim chance of needing one then there is not argument at all. I jump one. When I demo or jump gears that don’t have one (and I do) I make just solos and pull a bit higher. We live once. If I ever need a Cypress most likely it will be THE BEST investment of my life; if not, I did not go broke because of $ 1000. Memento Audere Semper 903

    I used to climb a lot, both rock and ice. I did the matterhorn north face, the heiger north face, mont blanc west face, moterosa south face, and I was supposed to go to Danali in May to do the west ridge but I could not find a climbing buddy. As for rock I used to go to yosemite when I lived in SF. There I did both the half dome and el capitan. Memento Audere Semper 903

Freeflying: sit is ok, vertical is getting there, head down sucks Spotting: military training: the door is open I jump out! Landing: they suck.
