The weather last year was not normal for that region at all. Record lows were broken during the convention as I recall. Plan for warm as it probaby will be, but be prepared for cold if it does rise up again. a fleece and a pair or two of jeans should keep you set for the week. Have fun, be safe... ------ Michael

The certification doesn't matter as much as the instructor does. ------ Michael

You've got one of the best instructors in the area so you'll be good. Call or IM me with your questions and I should be able to help you out. There are a couple decent places within a relative diving distance from you that have some interesting things. Mermet Springs in Southern IL. has some decent freshwater diving. You've got my number...call me. ------ Michael

The whole ISP took a dump. Not sure of the specifics but I know enough of the sites hosted there and the IPs that none have been pingable in the last several days. I'm assuming they didn't plan for a contingency like this. Oops. ------ Michael

WFFC, where do you leave your stuff while you jump?
gravitational replied to Hazarrd's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Best place to leave everything of value is in your car. We're all family but as with everything else in life, there are bad seeds. In most cases, no one will bother your stuff but the bad seeds might decide that it's better theirs than yours. If you don't have a car, in your tent is the next best option. Have fun, be safe and definitely seek out Sheila - the mayor's wife. She's a hoot. ------ Michael -
Ahhh, come on...They're cheating by bringing up a server outside of the ISP. When the DNS change rolls out, the site will be backonline again. Check in a couple hours and you should be good. Make sure the kids setup email accounts as well or the move won't work as well as it should. ------ Michael

Ummm...Nope...It wouldn't have been down this long on my watch... The whole ISP is down so it's a bigger issue than just Freefall.com. ------ Michael -

A couple years ago, I had a long convo with Mr. Hawkes and as jtval put it above, this is the story he gave me as well. Unfortunately, it falls into the category of the few ruining the fun for the many. He eliminated the general cause of his headaches and didn't have anymore. ------ Michael

Should I keep dyeing my hair red, or go back to brunette???
gravitational replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
Chat with Riddler. Although he's settled down on the hair color (work and divemaster stuff got in the way), he could give you tips on other various colors to go with. Me? I'm biased to purple hair. ------ Michael -

Downside of mountain living - Take your normal sushi bill and double it. Anywho, Sushi in 30. Started a group a few years ago and we were up to a sizable group when we'd go out for sushi. Trying to reorganize it and meeting with the other founders this weekend. Our last sushi bill for the group was a couple $ grand. ------ Michael
