Just remember not to take the Hiearchy of Needs Model as gospel. It is after all, a theory that has not been proven. You are right about not able to wage war without people willing to fight it, but fear and lack of understanding is not the only thing that gets people to fight. Believe it or not, there are people who "like" to fight, for instance. There are various reasons, also, why others fight. Also, saying people need to be fearful and lacking of understanding takes away from the actual fighters themselves. Almost all Admirals and Generals and even mid-level officers and above have the greatest education the U. S. can offer. I have never been to a command that never had at least two or three Harvard graduates or Post-graduates. Or a CO without a Graduate Degree. Same with MIT and other prestigious Universities. You are not able to keep these people in the dark. If anything, they are more able to keep the Pres in the dark than anything else. As far as Enlisted side, there are many of us, including me, that are formally educated and can think for ourselves. But you don't need a B. S. to be able to smell B. S. in the first place. One of my recipes, if you like complexity: Nanook's Wellingtons. 1/2 onion, chopped 2 TBS. shallots, chopped 1/4 cup chopped mushrooms 1 8-10 oz Tenderloin 1 sheet of pastry dough (not Phylloh) 1 cup heavy cream 1/4 cup red-wine vinegar Peppercorns 1-2 tbs of Brown sugar. 1/2 can Goose Pate(optional) Extra Virgin Olive Oil Pinch of Rosemary Preheat oven to 425 F Sautee with a small amount of Olive Oil and Five peppercorns; onion, 2 Tbs. shallots, and mushrooms for about a minute. Stir in Pate if desired then immediately remove from heat and cool. In another pan, brown both sides of Tenderloin and let cool.(if you want the meat well done in the end, cook it to medium at this point). Cut a square of pastry dough that will cover the meat in its entirety without overlapping too much. Spread cooled onion/shallot/mushroom mixture over pastry, place meat in the center of pastry and bring the four corners over and around the meat to meet at the top. Pinch four corners together and turn upside down onto cookie sheet and place in oven till pastry turns light brown. Sauce: In a saucepan, Add 1 Cup of heavy cream and the red-wine vinegar and brown sugar and Rosemary. Simmer mixture in low heat till it's reduced by one half. (my post is off subject, but I feel very important) The reason the Govt isn't legalizing it is because most people do not want it around. That's the real truth. Everybody wanted alcohol back during Prohibition and it became too great. Back then the Govt had programs against alcochol also. A long time ago, enough people saw Pot as a problem and did something about it. Even with all the research NORML did, people still does not want it around. Does that speak of ignorance of the masses? Maybe, but it is extremely rare that the American has not come into contact and seen what it does and how the users act. Everybody has their own experience/exposure with Weed. And overall influence, it's still looked at as a negative. No amount of research from NORML is going to paradigm shift someone's elses personal experience and reality. I agree. Nothing sucks like finally getting a "Fast boat" over and finding out it's only filled with Pot, but not because I feel it should be legal. I think Pot should be prescription only. Though that Kaiser Permanente study shows the Mortality issue is inconclusive, it does show that Pot use does contribute to and associated with deviant behavior. My and my Fiancee have fixed mortgages on our condos too. We really found out how bad San Diego was doing when we were looking for new homes we could own as a married couple. We learned quickly to circle new-builds like vultures. One new-build place was offering a $100,000 incentive if we bought now. We said we would be back in a year when we were married and they told us to "hurry up, they are going fast." I think I'm safe if we wait.

Could be experiencing one of the Confirmation Bias thingies. Maybe it's during the end of the month that you might actually look for vehicles being pulled over but not paying attention while it's the middle or the beginning of the month. Or maybe there's another reason for end-of-month pull overs. end-of-months are paydays to a lot of people. Maybe the commuters are more anxious. . .and anxious again during the middle-month (but not paid attention to). In your area, there may be something unique that happens that puts more people on the roads at the end of the month. for example, Military towns experience increase of driving at end of the months due to Leave and Transfers that are almost always takes place during this time. More people on the road, more violaters.
