Agreed. I never said different. It remains a factual statement. The UK let in tons of people. Most of them are in your country, on the dole, & making others sick.
-
I don't understand what you're afraid of. Is it stability in free fall, or the possibility of having to cut away again?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2539707.stm Is that why they've the highest TB infection rate in the West? Availability & quality of health care isn't part of the problem. The Scandinavian countries currently have the highest ratings for quality of life. What they do not lead the world in, is stress. IMO, there lies the answer.

Spaceland - This CAN'T be true...can it?
PiLFy replied to popsjumper's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Spaceland's policy on this can be summed up in two words: Bad Faith. Like I said in my earlier post. This is bad business. It is not the way to introduce people to the sport. If a Newb is already scared coming in. Is shafting them over money going to reduce their nerves before they entrust their lives to the DZ? They'll probably come back at some point. Their enjoyment will be impacted by the previous experience. They will probably just get it over with, & never return to any DZ. That's not how to help the sport grow. -
It has already been inferred that you may neither want nor need an Altitrack when you grow up.

Spaceland - This CAN'T be true...can it?
PiLFy replied to popsjumper's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm sorry to read this about Spaceland. I was looking forward to visiting them @some point. I will not do business w/a company that operates like this. A lot of DZs do this? So what? It's wrong. My DZ gives a full refund if the weather doesn't cooperate. That's how it should be. Said Newbs will return another day w/an even bigger smile on their faces. Spaceland's policy is penny-wise & pound-foolish. They want to welcome new people into the sport by refusing to give their money back, or stealing $50? Yeah, that's a great way to bring more people into the fold... -
http://www.fresh-hemorrhoids-cure.com/hemorrhoids-cream.html Here, Dave. This site might be helpful in your quest to lift Buicks.

Clearly, you will not be satisfied, Mr.Powers. Not until you have a complete inventory of colonic.... "Mag_Muh." http://www.emedicinehealth.com/flatulence_gas/article_em.htm

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but he's right. You're not breathing itsy, bitsy sh*tballs. You're breathing the gas produced by the enteric bacteria in the sh*tballs. If a study found fecal matter on so many seats. It's because a lot of people don't properly clean themselves.

WHOOHOO!! NO SPINNING!! LVL 1 (&2) complete
PiLFy replied to KevinP's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't know, Kevin. It was much more fun for us the other way... Ah Well. We'll find someone else to entertain us. Congratulations -
I'm reminded of something a GI Doc once said to me. "Hey, it may be shit to you. But, it's my bread & butter!"

http://www.buyemp.com/category/Humidifiers.html Hi, Check the above link. I don't know this company, but want to show you what I mean. If I were making so many high altitude drops. I'd use one of these cheap in-line humidifiers to help w/the drying effects. I'd buy my own mask & tubing while I was @it, too (yuck..).

Oh great. Thanks for telling me this shit...

I didn't miss anything. I'm aware of all that. I was responding to Dornanan.

Jim, I'm glad you dodged a bullet regarding your hearing. Many others aren't as fortunate. The decibels don't lie. Their effects on the human ear are well documented. You don't have to lose appreciable hearing range to wake up w/Tinnitus one day. It's not fun, & never Shuts the *! up. BTW, after I'm under canopy. I reach inside my helmet w/a pinky, & simply flick the plugs out. They stay in the helmet until I land. I can hear traffic just fine. P.S.: Neeners. I put my pic back.

Jesus Christ...You don't want me to have any fun... I'm w/ya, Pops. I've been taught to check altitude first. I've also read about a few jumpers going in thinking "Just a few more seconds. I've almost got it." -
Thank You for sharing. Your name isn't Pops. I wasn't asking you.

At night, in the rain, a two-lane country road and you are driving 65! I question who is the moron.... Aside from animals on the road in the country, having limited vision and the fact that the road is wet, better face reality as it is and not as you want it to be! Not everyone drives the maximum speed limit in those conditions. "Not everybody drives the max speed limit"? Statistically speaking, people who block the road tend to get hit. Impeding is a chargeable offense too, & w/good reason. I follow all the rules of the road. Not just the ones I like. Everyone deserves to get from point A to B in one piece.

I hope you have taken into consideration that bright-ass headlights can, and do, blind oncoming drivers...regardless of the type of vehicle they are driving. I have. That's why I've never used them. They're rude & dangerous. Your tone is surprising me here, Pops. Do you have a problem w/motorcyclists?
-
Over driving your headlights at night is not a good thing. Ever ridden a bike @night, Pops? From your usually good posts. I'm guessing you haven't. The OEM headlights are a far cry from the visibility provided by car headlights. No speeding is required to be surprised. It's why I stopped riding @night many years ago. A couple of middle-aged riders on scoots aren't your typical Squids.

One Brake Unstowed on Opening
PiLFy replied to MakeItHappen's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
OK, what am I missing here? My Newb understanding is, a toggle-fire will cause line twists & violent spinning within seconds. I fail to see how this exercise will help me w/that scenario. After I finish the "A." Am I supposed to gradually induce stronger turns until...what? I could just do some spirals, & watch the altitude burn (I've already done that). Am I to continue increasing the turns' force until I get a few twists? If it happens for real. I'll either kick out of them very quickly, or chop. I'm not going to play w/it for more than a few seconds. Even though I open a bit high. Not after all the incident reports I've read here. -
There was a batch on E-Bay a few months back. I haven't seen them, since. That guy looks so familiar...
