Congrats. Now, use one million in a reference here tonight. Then, play again tomorrow.

What a load of crap. You actually read that swill?

Paralized friend, jump possible?
PiLFy replied to LongWayToFall's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
There are DZs that can make this happen for you. I've seen DZ pix of special days set aside to provide this extra service for people. As long as he doesn't need a ventilator. I'm not from California. Have you contacted Elsinore & Perris? -
The Feds offer tuition forgiveness for those willing to pledge to work for four or so years in an under-served area (nursing). I don't know if they offer something similar for paramedics. You could take whatever courses you're lacking, & get to work in a remote area.

A friend had middle ear surgery a few years back. She was very dizzy afterward. It passed within a few hours. Like I said. I've very little experience in this area. Some people need permanent tubes put in. Other than water precautions. I'm not aware of any other negative effects from them. Good Luck.

Yeah man, I know where Texas is... He specifically said he wasn't anywhere near the ocean, but had that problem. This happened many years ago.
-
I think it was Jim (Airtwardo) who said he had a cadmium rig go bad within a year. He was in Texas, far from any ocean. The humidity changes destroyed the hardware very quickly.

Years ago, they used to have big paddle-wheelers on the river. They were floating casinos.

I've almost no experience w/this area. I do know there are some Patients who end up w/permanent tubes placed in their ears. Other than water precautions, they're fine. Was any underlying cause for the fluid build up found?

CC companies are evil entities. Make no mistake about that. They prey on young people like yourself. Many of those young people fall into the traps, & get bled for years. Never charge what you can't pay off @the end of the month.

"I couldn't think of a safety reason not to jump with them." Skewed depth perception? I see you jump often w/shades. Us Newbs are more sensitive to those things. Pilots wear yellow lenses to aid in depth perception. Yellow doesn't block UV, though. Unless they're polycarbonate, I believe. My eye MD told me to stick w/black or brown lenses. Especially since I wear strong contacts.

You're still a student jumper, right? They won't let you jump w/tinted/mirrored goggles. They have to be able to see your eyes for safety.

X-rays only show bone. MRIs image soft tissues. If his hip was bone on bone? You can see that from the spacing in an X-ray. You can also see the Femoral head breaking down from the abrasion.

"10 Re-habbed Homes That Turned Ugly Into Unbelievable"
PiLFy replied to SarahC07's topic in The Bonfire
Lotsa money, & lotsa headaches. They tend to downplay that aspect when pushing these showcase home projects. -
I'm glad you're taking the positive from the experience. It's curious that you drilled for how many times one way. Then, automatically did something different when it was for real. That's not how muscle memory & training usually work for people. Whatever works for you. Let's see: **$70 for a repack. **About $60 for a case & a bottle. **$50 for a dropped handle. **Not dying? Priceless.
-
Fine, if you can get away w/it. They don't check that sort of thing?
-
Kinda hard to bury a 25#, big_*ssed rig in your carry-on luggage, no?
-
"...all of my training was, 2 hands cutaway, look at reserve handle, pull cutaway, 2 hands on reserve, pull reserve handle. Whenever I go over EP's on the ground and on the plane, thats exactly what I do and have been doing that since day one." "When it was time to cutaway, I automatically went to one hand on each handle and initiated my EP's." Vahry interesting... Have you any explanation as to why you changed @showtime?

I love it when Brits come here, & shop @the most expensive stores. All while exclaiming they can't believe how cheap everything is. I'm not saying Cali DZs are overly expensive. They're not. Jumping in UK is, I believe, quite a bit more expensive, though. Have you looked into how much bringing that used rig into England will cost you (Customs)? I hope you have a great time. I don't want you to go back home, & get a nasty surprise.

What does NOT stand for? That's an anacronym, right?
-
You forgot Ibuprofen, ACE bandages, ice packs, & maybe a new heating pad ...
-
I'm sorry. I'd reply to this, but those two Borgias Ads are really annoying the piss out of me.
-
FWIW. Had I not gotten hurt. My A would have only cost me about $2400 for everything. I live in a pricey part of the country. Dunno about Colorado.
-
Thanks, that one worked. He let fat boy off too easily.
