    Dunno. I stumbled onto a tract explaining that colder air @altitude is drier. "The combination of low temperatures, low absolute humidity, & high winds at altitude poses a serious risk of cold-related disorders, such as hypothermia & windchill injuries." They were talking about Everest, but the effect would still be the same.     Bingo. Age-related hearing loss tends to hit the higher frequencies. Conversely, other frequencies seem too loud. Find one of those frequencies. The Optima2 has two volumes: 115db, & 120db. They're certainly loud enough. If your unit is eating batteries. L&B's customer support is legendary. I'm sure they'll take care of you.

    It's a free country, Jeff. Adrenalin or perversion, whatever works for you. Merely thinking of my scrotum in a -100* wind blast is enough to give me PTSD. If I'm not willing to do it wearing 10#s of insulated clothing. I'm certainly not willing to do it in the buff.

    "you gain 3 degrees for every 1000ft you fall" Wow, almost balmy, but I'm still not doing it... Somehow, when facing 100 below zero (give or take). Thirty degrees doesn't sound like much. I've already frozen enough times in life. I like my comfort. I can wait another month.

    Would there not have been frostbite of the face & fingers on most jumpers? They weren't shaking uncontrollable when they landed. I heartily concur w/the fuqqin cold part. I just don't see how it could have been more than -100 degrees fahrenheit without any frostbite.

    Evening All, I'm scratching my head @the moment. Something doesn't seem to add up. Some crazy guys N gals @my DZ were jumping this weekend. It was about 32 degrees (& a bit windy) Fahrenheit on the ground. The temperature @14K' was about -20 Fahrenheit. Add windchill @120MPH, & it would be >-100degrees fahrenheit (?!). That can't be right. What am I missing, here? Thanks.

    My $0.02? If a business only screws some of their customers? They're still screwing people. I choose not to patronize such businesses. I was planning on a jumpcation trip to Spaceland. It's a large, nice-looking operation w/great equipment. Apparently, they've paid for some of that through dirty practices. I know there are several DZ.commers who jump there. This isn't about them. It's about the business practices @a DZ.

    Hi, It sounds like you're going to have a Turbinectomy. It is in fact a roto-rooter job on your nasal passages. You're going to do some cocaine, too (it helps minimize bleeding). I only recovered these patients. So, I don't know about aftercare. They're not actually going into your sinus cavities. They're only cutting back some bone & soft tissue. Recovery time should be quick.

So, the peppers won't be quite as hot. I bet they'd still be pretty good, though. I have a couple bottles of sauce made w/the former world record holder: Naga Jolokia (1 million+ scovilles). Sick to say, but I've gotten used to the heat. I don't particularly care for the taste of that pepper, though. They had bad weather wherever they grow those peppers. They ran out of the Naga Viper sauce because of it I haven't been able to order any. >1.3 million scovilles. I gotta get some!!
