  1. Thanks! It was sooooo much fun last year. I've been desperate to go again since. See if you can go next year! Even if you don't jump, it's way worth the party. WAY worth the party. CYA!
  2. why, spankya very much for the cheese, if you please.
  3. I feel like a little kid again. The hours are getting looooooooooonger. I can't focus. I can't stay off dz.com for more than 5 minutes at at time. Is it 4 o'clock yet???? Cuz I get to leave at 4 o'clock for WV!!! No fair. I wanna go nooooooooooooow!!! Sorry. Does that constitute as post whoring? Or just whining????
  4. Don't sweat it sweetie. I sucked big time last winter for the first... ummm... two minutes. Then you get the hang of it. It's a lot different when you truely only have 12 feet to fly in. It's the best learning tool I've had so far. The coaching down there is fantastic! You'll do great!!!
  5. Ooooooooooooh, you'd better be nice! She'll spank yah next time.
  6. A-ha! Yes, Dave, one of the very first lessons I learned at Skydive Tecumseh. Never have your new gear sent to the dz. Are you guys headed to Bridge Day?
  7. Yay! Just got word that Mindcake and Hooligan are going!!! Yipppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee! beer, pizza and base jumps. woooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooo! (sorry, no excitement here, really!)
  8. Hey Tree! Thanks for all the great info, dude. Very helpful. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in Michigan that the weather will stay good. Cya there!
  9. Still VERY new to the sport myself (350 jumps) - and far from calling myself a "swooper." But as far as canopy control/flight, Big Air Sportz's Brian Germain has a fantastic class that he can gear towards any level.
  10. Be aware when you do buy something. I jumped the gun my first season freeflying and bought a pair of Michgan freefly pants right off the rack. I realized shortly after that they were WAY too baggy to learn in. They are okay now that I know what I'm doing, but they still slow me down a lot. I like Firefly pants. They're pretty hot and everyone I know who has them loves them. I also like BirdMan's freefly pantz.
  11. Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  12. I say no, but that's me. Everytime I get one it just makes me sick.
  13. I am Luke Skywalker (but I prefer to be called Luketta ). Boldly striving to overcome the darkness both in this world and within yourself, you are righteously devoted to forging your own destiny.

O-H M-Y G-O-D. okay, there IS a need for a men's forum, isn't there???? LMAO sorry, no really, it's cute. seriously. it's a good thing to bring up in a public forum, really!
  15. ooooh, this could be a new reality show!!!! take 5 base jumpers that don't know each other and make them share beds together... most likely while they are highly intoxicated! what time does the first episode air???????????????
  16. I have two Alvarez accoustics (one is on loan to a fellow freeflyer). But I have this small problem... I used to play a lot until I started skydiving. That seams to be the story of my life. I think all of us could say this: I used to do _________ all the time, but now I skydive. I'm trying to play more lately - even brought my guitar to the dz this weekend. Never made it out of my car.
  17. Happy Birthday, PLFKING!!!!!!!!! WoooooooHoooooooooooooooo!!!
  18. Congrats on saving your life! Welcome to the cutaway club. A month ago, when I had my first mal, my friend Gretta landed with my stuff. Apparently there was a guy there in the process of taking my main. He said "Finders Keepers." She would have nothing to do with that and promptly stole it back from him. Thank, God! Bloody whuffos!
  19. Here's mine! My buddy Cap on breakoff - caught transitioning. Great shot!
  20. Once again, you ROCK, man. I have been asking people this question for over a month now.
  21. Wow, Spike, you rock! That software looks like it might do the trick. I knew there were a few out there, but I haven't heard anything from anyone on whether they work at all. Sounds like the conversion won't jeopardize the quality - which is extreemly important. The dumb brit should be happy to know I can finally successfully use his footage! Thanks again!!!
  22. DAMNIT! Come on people! What is with this shit lately??? A Pennsylvania man died Thursday when his parachute failed to deploy as he BASE-jumped from the Perrine Bridge over the Snake River Canyon. The man launched from the Twin Falls-area bridge, which is 486 feet above the river, and then tried a backflip. His parachute did not deploy and he hit the water at about 90 mph, Twin Falls County sheriff's Sgt. Don Neuman said. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was in his 30s. He was with a group of seven from the same area. BASE stands for building, antenna, span, earth. They are the stationary places jumpers leap from, giving them a very short descent. Neuman said the reason the man's chute did not work has not been determined. Several things can occur. BASE jumpers usually throw their pilot chute out sideways so it will deploy in mere seconds, Neuman said. Sometimes, the pilot is caught in a vortex of wind caused by the body and will not come out. The "bridal" attaching the pilot chute to the main chute also may wrap around a limb. It is the first BASE-jumping death at the Perrine Bridge this year, Neuman said. Utah jumper Brian Stout died last year when his parachute failed. "It's a premiere location because it's legal," Neuman said. Other jumpers were in a boat below the bridge and recovered the Pennsylvania man's body within about 15 seconds.
  23. Thanks, man. I appreciate the help/advice. I am seriously desperate to find a way to convert digitally (spendy or not). There was a cool guy from London at our dz this season who was on almost every freefly with us filming - fantastic footage! I really want to use it in this DVD I'm putting together. The only way I've figured to do it, is to have PAL sections and then NTSC sections - like chapters on the DVD, but I can't mix them. I've spent hours trying everything. Somebody once told me if I firewire the footage from PAL to NTSC (camera to camera) it would work, but it hasn't worked for me. Grrrrrrrrrrrr, one of life's little mysteries!!! Have a great day!
  24. Sweet! Thanks, Jason! How are the water currents compared to last year? Bout the same? Better? Worse? Yay! Bridge Day! Yay!
  25. Hey Wags, Good info, dude, thanks. The VCR thing will convert the footage so you can play it on a TV, but do you happen to know a way of converting it so it will stay digital? If not, the VCR will probably do the trick. Thanks!
