  1. that's it, damnit! i'm moving to perris!!!! that is soooooo cool. guess where i'll be vacationing... a lot... soon.
  2. It's f-f-f-freezin in Michigan in the winter. I think it has to be around 30-35 to put the C182 up in the winter time. Last season I was all about jumpin' in the cold. This season, I'm all about heading to the new Skydive SoBe in Pahokee, Florida!
  3. I can't really play, cuz I don't have a protrack. BUT! I can tell you it was around 24,ooo, and almost 2 minutes of freeflyin'. Opening around 3,ooo. That was out of Mike Mullins' King Air at Rantoul this year. Cool as hell!
  4. ha! yes, the imfamous sporto and chrissy. yeah, they're okay!
  5. I am a big fan of the barrel roll. It's not just your group you need to be aware of. Drift can place groups above and below you when you least expect it. Clearing your airspace is very important.
  6. right on, man! welcome to the dark side! may you never leave!
  7. I don't have the explosives for you, but I can sympathize. After a hard opening I had last year, I ended up going to the ER to try to get some pain killers and make sure there was no serious damage. I had health insurance and it was covered.... apparently. Though I keep getting bills sent to me from the hospital for random fees associated with that incident. Question... how come after you take care of the bill, months later, they are STILL coming up with shit to charge you for????
  8. ooh ooh ooh! that is my FAVORITE all time airplane!!!! mike rocks! guaranteed zero G on exit. don't stand up until he is ready for you. you'll know when! teeheehee. seriously, f-ing great lift! his high altitude jumps are way freakin' cool too! 24,000 feet, Exit, Exit, Exit!
  9. That's kind of lame if you ask me. I hope our dz doesn't start charging a fee. Of course I would just shut up and pay it. But as far as dz improvements go, we all pitch in when work needs to be done. This year at Tecumseh, skydivers built and painted a shower house in 5 days (in time for our boogie), ran new wires underground for the trailors, expanded and built a new driveway, painted manifest and finished building last year's tiki bar. People also helped out in the building of the new gear shop. I like it MUCH better that way. Save money for jumps and use your talents to chip in on building up the best dz you possibly can.
  10. That is retardedly sweet. I'm so jealous! Thanks for sharing your story!
  11. Wow. This is an old post! My name is Liz and I'm a web designer / instructional designer. I used to work in TV for Nickelodeon and NBC. I also edit tandem videos for Skydive Tecumseh.
  12. As a web designer, I think your site is looking hot. I love the pictures, even though they aren't all Moab and they aren't all skydiving. I think jumping in Moab will be sweet. The view will be unbelievable. I'll make a point of visiting. I have to agree with everyone else though. I don't think there is anyway to justify spending that much on a skydive from 8,500. I think we pay $9 to 8,500 in Tecumseh. Not enough tude for a good freefly dive either. Nevertheless, I think it will be a great dz. The sooner you can get the prices down the better. I bet a high pull with some friends would be amazing. Good luck!!!
  13. i have two... "c#nt"... because it is the most derogatory, degrading, nasty word you could ever call a woman. even as a joke, i pretty much automatically hate the user of this word. and... the word "spoon"
  14. Hey. Just wrote a review for Skydive South Beach. Tried to put bold markup on some of the text. Didn't work - left the commands with no bold. I think it would be cool if this functionality transfered to the reviews. Hopefully I'll be able to edit mine and take those out???
  15. I used to jump without a helmet - even though my friends would give me a very hard time about it. Then, one of my best skydiving buds broke his neck in a freefly collision. That was enough for me. Think about it this way - if you aren't going to wear one for yourself, wear one for your friend who may accidently bump into you someday in the sky. Gee, they may have to go the rest of their lives knowing they took out one of their buds cuz they didn't have a helmet on. Probably not the best gut feeling. Save yourself and wear one. Just my two cents.
  16. Sounds like your instructor needs to take some time to review body position with you on the ground. It will save you time, pain, and frustration in the air. Don't get discouraged - we've all been there.
  17. Cesslon - Your experience is very common and has been discussed a lot. Do a search in the other forums for "bruises from student gear" and you should find quite a bit of information.
  18. Not smart, guy. Be cool, stay in school. Having the opportunity to go to school is a gift that not everyone in this world is given. Take advantage of it. You'll most likely regret your decision a few years down the road when you can't get the job that you want. And not everyone can spell! So no worries!
  19. I know the feeling... going on two weeks with no jumpin' here!

Again, what's the point? Sounds kind of stalker-esque to me. Why don't you grant people their freedom. The dropzone is supposed to be a place where you can feel entirely free to be yourself and at peace. Why ruin that for people by shoving an unwanted video camera in their face? Does this mean we shouldn't shower at the dropzone anymore because you may be hiding in the rafters filming us? Personally, I like "capturing the Kodac moment." I'm one of the video editors at my dz. I love filler footage for the End of the Year video - pie-ings, drunken moments, bonfire moments, etc. But if somebody asked me not to use footage - which they have in the past - I would respect that.

Well, I guess it just has to come down to respect then. If there was a picture of me that I did not want shared, I'd hope that my friends and fellow skydivers would respect that. Also, you know what? There are some people out there who need to learn a little tact when using a camera. Sure, some stuff is really funny, but other stuff is rather intrusive. It is a fine line. I guess this is all just camera etiquette. Right? Just my 2 cents.
  22. Wow, why would you sit there and tell someone... "Hey, we're going to pie you now, so close your eyes and hold your breath and smile for the cameras."???????????????????? Screw that. It's business as usual, till.... BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! When you least expect it. Best pie-ing ever witnessed was Jr's 1000th this summer. There were AT LEAST 30 pies - a constant rapid fire for almost a full minute. On video from about 10 different angles - including the roof of manifest. Now THAT'S when you know you are loved. just my 2 cents.
  23. Why is the Inspector Gaget theme song suddenly popping into my head? LMAO. Good luck, lady! Take one for the team!
  24. Though I've never met either, you are all my sisters and brothers. I pray for you Lori; you are in my thoughts. Jason - blue skies my brother, see you when I get there. To the friends and families - I'm so sorry for your loss. Fly. Be free.
