  3. Ha! I looked like a dork on my first jump! and my second... and wait, my third too. oh, i guess my fourth as well.... um... my 300th, my 350th, 360th, 370th.... Okay, yup. I'm a dork.
  4. Those pictures are gorgeous! Congrats to all involved. That is so freakin' cool.
  5. Ooh, ooh, go to Skydive SoBe... great AFF instructors, and a beautiful site! Plus, a lot of us Michigan folk are heading that way for christmas/new years! gonna be one big par-tay!
  6. Shit, girl. That sucks. Blue skies and fast healing.
  7. My favorite from this season was the chorusline exit we tried (McCarty's idea!). It was fun as hell and we got one great shot before it fell apart. I was in the middle and thought my shoulders were going to pop out of the sockets!
  8. Those elves sure do like to base jump! But I think they may need to go take a FJC... they seam to have forgotten basic safety guidelines.... don't forget your rig!
  9. well, did rudolph, THE WHUFFO, do anything???
  10. ahhh, must have been confused - thought jim was going for xmas/newyears... maybe they're going for both. eloy.... i know! next year! this year, pahokee calls.
  11. Going to Pahokee with whoooooooooo? I wanna go! But I have RW to do in Pittsburgh of all places. Turkey day, you know? As it is, I'm already bailing on Christmas/NewYears to go down there!
  12. 191.9 is my best.... so far. Edit: YAY! 307.8, and I can see Rudolph's butt! Edit AGAIN: 327.8 and Rudolph looks pissed or something! EDIT YET AGAIN (see picture): 334.3, still can't reach Rudolph.
  13. Mike you rock! Three cheers for Mike! This idiot is... well, an idiot. Please, don't doubt yourself on why you stay in this business. You fly my favorite stinkin airplane, and you fly it so well. I feel privlaged every time I get to board it. Yeehaw! 14,ooo feet. Exit! Exit! Exit!
  14. My Favorite Out Story... Last year, during our boogie, I made a jump that ended abruptly with line dump. Compressed my neck and spine and I swear I was seeing stars for a minute. Once I snapped back to reality I took a look and realized how far out I was. Since I was hurting bad from the opening, I wanted to land somewhere where there would be other people if I needed help. That's when I spotted Pops (aka Frank Ludvik), whom we all miss terribly (blue skies, pops!), landing in a field rather close. Ahhhh, having mucho faith in such a great instructor, I decided to follow him down. Well, much to our surprise, on final, out from underneath a set of large trees at one end of the field come about 30 large beasts (stears) heading right towards us. A third jumper also landed nearby. I quickly informed Pops of my neck injury and he took the situation into his control. Waving a hot pink canopy at the stears (which, my East-Coastness thought may be bulls or something), he started yelling Yaw! Yaw! Back da F*ck Up! in his NY accent. Well, terrified, I huddled behind Pops. He assured me that things would be okay. We slowly made it through the herd of curious beasts to the other end of the field where we could finally escape the electric fencing. For months, every time Pops saw me, he'd call me his little cowgirl. That day will forever go down in my skydiving history!
  15. Just had my first (yes i said FIRST) carry-on rig experience. My buddy and I travelled home from Florida (Fort Meyers) to Flint, MI. We walked right through no problem. A few looks of amazement as they sent it through the screener-thing-a-magig. They said "oh, a parachute" or something and that was it.
  16. in before... you postin' whore!
  17. Hiya Sunny, Made my first trip there a couple of weeks ago. Posted on it in Places to Jump. I freakin' loved it. The people, the place, the view... so good all around. I'm going back from Dec. 26th-ish to Jan. 4th-ish. I say "ish" cuz we're driving and we may stop at some other florida dzs on the way. Btw... I finally got on my head down there! Now I just have to learn how to control it. But I'm so much better than before I went down there. Those guys are great coaches! Plus Orly King showed up and jumped with us and coached me too. You know what? It's freakin' snowin' in Michigan. I cannot WAIT to get back down there, girl! Happy 300th!!!! -liz
  18. Sorry, but can I bring this post back to it's original subject for a minute? I haven't been to Sebastian yet, but I've heard great things. This is the first I've heard of this issue and it interests me. Does anybody know this Jason Milewski guy? Is he a skydiver or has he ever jumped before? It sounds like he is very opinionated about what is a "safe" landing area or "enough space" for a dropzone. Just wondering if his opinion is credible at all or if he is speaking out of his ass.
  19. i bet you have bought a LOT of beer this year!!!! congrats! hope i get to jump with you someday!
  20. i know you are already thinking about going with something different, but i voted for the first one. i don't care for the asymetrical thing either - seeing as everything we do (pretty much) is based on being symetrical. but i like rigs to have more color - there is nothing worse than an all black rig.
  21. LMAO! Amen! Justice is served.
  22. ooooooooooh. let's see! i can't wait to get out there and check out the new dz. a handful of tecumseh peeps should be arriving there soon.
